Blue, Silver, Blue, Silver

I wore my new cap for the first time on Hike #70 at the Pruitt Trailhead of the Florida Trails.  Look at that bright blue sky!

This photo shows how 'color coordinated I am now! heehee! Blue cap, silver hair, blue shirt, silver capris! Everything nice and lightweight and COOL!

And we had one of the neatest wildlife encounters.

We 'froze' on the trail when we spotted a deer close by.

He saw us too but didn't seem spooked at all.

He was grazing and this photo shows his tongue!

We went to a turn around on the trail and made a loop by getting onto another trail and even saw him again through the brush. It was amazing.

I've seen a few deer this past week and one even snorted at me one day. But they were always on the run and my photos looked like pretty pics of the trees! lol

We don't get to hike as often in the summer months but we'll be looking for some cooler mornings to get out early when we can. Florida gets hot and it doesn't cool down much overnight either. I hiked 5 times last week taking advantage of good weather. Good weather = Less hot!

Click on the short video above.

I'm thankful to live in a beautiful place with so many wonderful hiking trails nearby.
What are you thankful for this week?

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays .

Color coordinated indeed!! Lookin' good! I love when we see deer in the wild. We are blessed by that down at the farm (Joe's client) now and then. They are beautiful. Yes, it is HOT in Florida now. Sigh. (Wouldn't be anywhere else, though!)

How awesome to spot the deer while you were hiking. I've seen plenty but it's always been when I'm driving and they are running in front of my car.

I love watching deer, too. We used to have a Doe and her fawn in the woods by my apartment but they haven't been there for 2 or 3 years now. I miss them.

I love deer. Always have. My sister has deer come into her yard all the time and says they are destructive. But we both still love them.

I don't usually get involved in this "what are you thankful for?" sort of thing, but yesterday good friends of ours born in 1926 and 1929 respectively, and still living in their own home, came for lunch. They are wonderful people, incredibly interesting, had great careers in five different countries around the world, and met many of the luminaries of the twentieth century. I am VERY grateful for them.

I love your deer pics. They are such peaceful, gentle animals...I think they are grazing a lot right now, perhaps because many have newborn fawns to care for, or they are about to have...I have some who frequent my yard every day. If you look at my blogpost from last night you will see some good pics from our yard yesterday. I am happy you get out and hike everyday. Are you bothered much by ticks? We get them just going in our yard...they are fast little rascals too...can get in the most hard to find places before you know it... (we live in the Ocala National Forest). It has been a bit too hot for hikes for us this week. Praying for rain. Enjoy your hikes and deer. We are blessed to have so much wildlife about here in Florida...

A lot of chirping, whirring, hissing, and clicking going on in that video. Your world sounds extremely animated...far more so than mine. 😉 That deer seems quite used to people...such a pretty creature.

Deer are such amazing, beautiful animals, we are blessed to be able to see them often at the farm, we plant extras for them, if not they would consume our veggies, we also fence the garden.
loved the video, aren't the sounds of nature refreshing?.
I am thankful today, for old and new found friends here in blogland., and extra time to visit.
N.C. is very hot and humid too, so what I do outside in summer must be done early, thus it gives me more time inside.on my computer. ~wink~. Thank you for visiting and for following me, I am so looking forward to getting to know you.
Have a great Memorial Day weekend.
Blessings,
Sue

well, good to know you're coordinated finally! lol
GREAT picture of the deer in leaves... that is a winner shot. I'd like to see you do that in fabric for an art quilt... how sweet.

What a wonderful sight! The deer is a precious animal. This one is a beauty and looks like a young one. I really like your blue shirt and cap that you wear hiking, it's such a pretty color. Oh, the Summers in California get hot too, and I'm not looking forward to it at all. The heat wipes me out as I get older. I enjoyed the video, Diane. Thanks for sharing. : )
