Spring cleaning in 'spurts'!

If it's cool enough in the mornings, I like to go for a hike. But here lately I've had Spring fever!

I've been going 'room by room' and doing a little deep cleaning.  Nothing looks very different but it's nice to have everything in place and dusted.

I put all my cleaning supplies away each day so that I can start fresh each morning and not feel like I'm in the middle of a big chore. And of course I don't clean every day.

It's more fun to hike or do my art or read or blog....or just about anything else! lol

I bought myself a gift for Mother's Day. I don't usually get a lot of presents and this year was no different so I 'treated' myself! I have good kids that I am very proud of so I'm happy with the flowers, phone calls and cards I get all year round! I am blessed!

I've wanted one of these little toys stoves and had the perfect place for it in my kitchen. But when it came, it was a little too big for that spot so I put it on this bookshelf for now.

My roses were more beautiful each day as they opened up fully. And for those that wondered...I found out who sent them through a process of elimination.  When I talked to each son, I told them I got a wonderful 'early' gift and when they started 'guessing' what it was, it was pretty easy to cross them off the list, one by one! heehee!

Do you treat yourself with something special sometimes?

 Feels good, doesn't it?

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays .

I love your little stove and doll and all those old books and everything about it. Old books speak to me you know. I have quite a collection of them myself. Have a great day. The weather here has just been amazing. I have been getting out early mornings for my walks.

Diane, I should tell you this...I always say to Ted, "I thought when I retired, I would have a maid, not become one ! " LOL There are so many fun things better than cleaning. I love your little stove. It's just right for your dolls. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie

I am usually a fall cleaner for some reason. I guess I like getting things ready for when I have to stay in more. I do love that fresh cleaned feeling. The roses are beautiful, and how clever of you to figure out who the sender was. xo Laura

Your mini-me looks very pretty cleaning house! This time of year I am torn between wanting to do deep cleaning (because we’re leaving soon) and not cleaning at all, for the same reason.

Your stove is lovely and the little doll too. Nice to treat yourself and yes I do the same every now and again. Those roses are beautiful also, lovely collage. I'm in the middle of spring cleaning but sunshine and warmer weather calls, I know what you mean. Have a great weekend :)

Yes, I do treat myself now and then. Your little stove and doll look perfect in the spot you found for them! How cute! Having the cleaning done, even a little at a time, does feel great!

I remember the stove from my childhood, never had one but would have loved it. I think it is great to buy your own gift, I do it because I am the only one that can please me...

What a cute stove that is. My daughter was telling me about her fiances mother saying she couldn't wait till mothers day so she could see what everyone got her. I told my daughter that if her and her brother at least send me a text saying happy mothers day I would be happy.

Howdy my sweet friend! I love your sweet little stove! I've wanted one of those for ages, and have never found one. It's adorable. I LOVE THAT FIRST PICTURE, that is so adorable! Your dollie is so sweet, what is this one's name? This is one of my favorite pictures you've posted, I guess because you know how we both are about our DOLLS, RIGHT!!/ ha ha LOL

That little stove is precious.

Like you, I would rather do a lot of other things rather than clean and organize, but it has to be done. I've been working on my craft space in the garage. And, I don't allow myself to change my mind. I texted a former teaching colleague yesterday about giving her tools and supplies. She was excited so I dropped them off today. But, it hardly looks like I did anything.

It's nice to get some spring cleaning done when one is up to it. I'm glad I felt like doing some a few weeks ago because I sure don't know lol. I loved all your roses. Yes, I often treat myself. I don't have any children to treat me now and then.

I love your sense of humor! I'd love a little person like this to cook on her stove for me and do some cleaning!! Thankfully, I'm in a cleaning/sorting mode lately and it feels good!

I LOVE your "treats", both the you-bought and the someone-else-bought varieties. :-) And yes, I do buy myself goodies... probably more than I should... and they usually take the form of art supplies. *lol* Love, Andrea xoxo

I love that little oven...so cute! You got more than I got on Mother's Day....calls and 1 card so, yes....I buy myself Mother's Day gift(s). I got a book, a diamond painting kit I've been wanting to try, a masking tape sticker set and some watercolor pencils. I had to buy enough to qualify for free shipping on Amazon...not a problem! LOL! I'm glad you had a Happy Mother's Day.

Adorable! I love that you treated yourself to that stove, Diane. So glad you mentioned it to me so that I could come and see it. My blogging has become almost non-existent lately. You are going to have so much fun playing with your new "toy". I got rid of so many things when we moved, but the stove wasn't going anywhere.

Ohhhhhhhh I love the little stove - just perfect. I received a darling gift for my dollies, and will soon blog about it (you'll have to wait to find out what it was). I'm just now getting enough energy to even look at photos and think about doing some blogs. It has been a long road back but I'm beginning to feel better some days and we even had a barbecue on the deck last weekend (I didn't do anything except walk out there and eat dinner, but it was fun anyway). I've got a lot of blog reading to catch up on. Have a grand week ahead, you sneaky little gift guesser LOL. And what a lovely gift!!!!
