Happy Independence Day!!!

I am thankful for so many blessings today!

(basket hung on the inside of my glass front door, reflecting the house across the street)

It's a privilege to live in this country and I appreciate the sacrifices so many have made through the years to keep us free!

I hope you are all having a beautiful day! We have hot temps here in Florida but the little pop up afternoon showers help quite a bit!

I'm still doing a little art every day. I sketch in my journal and do some watercolors too.

I painted this little scene just for fun...

and then took it to a photo editing site to add text.

My girlfriend Jeanie at the Marmelade Gypsy did a fun post HERE to let us know that, "July is World Watercolor Month -- a worldwide event featuring the ultimate challenge of 31 Watercolors in 31 Days! The idea is to paint every day (or as many as you can) and post your work on various platforms to bring awareness for arts education to get art supplies for kids who need them via The Dreaming Zebra Foundation."

Would you like to take part too?
It would be a fun time to try watercolors!

 God Bless America!

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays .

Diane, I think you have a talent you have been hiding for too long. :) I really like your painting. I like the door decor too. I didn't even get our flag bought to wave this year. By the time I took our flag in in spring it was shredded. Blessings for a fabulous day there. xoxo, love, Susie

What a sweet scene you painted. It screams summer to me! I just started watercolor painting in April--hadn't lifted a brush since elementary school!

What a wonderful sketch, Diane. I saw Jeanie's watercolor post. She is so talented. You are getting really good too, especially with all the details in these little houses, so cute. I like the thought behind it trying to get art supplies for children who need them.

Your doll is darling and ready for the Fourth of July!

What fun - I always love your posts. I am hoping to be able to visit a bit more - but things are still progressing slowly here. I have a bundle of doctor appointments coming up over the next month, hopefully they will discover something to make recovery faster. Happy weekend and happy July my dear.

Hope you had a great holiday my friend. Ours was good, we had good food and good fireworks. I love your paintings---I think you are much more talented than you give yourself credit for. Have you been able to get out much at all?--it's been so hot here I stay inside the hot part of the day unless I HAVE TO GO OUT. We are also getting alot of summer thunderstorms, how bout you?
