July 'heated' Hikes

We managed to hike twice over the weekend! It was hot but not unbearable and I 'needed' to get outside! I wanted to go deep into the woods and breathe the air and mingle with nature!

There are all kinds of wildflowers blooming right now because of the little pop up showers we've had.

I know I need to learn the names of them all! I even bought a new Florida Wildflower Book so there's HOPE!

Butterfly weed

Look at what hubby captured in this lavender flower.

He's tiny but look at all the details!

Did you have a fun weekend? We can still hear fireworks going off in the evenings before we go to bed! (maybe they are on sale now! lol)

I’m joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

Hello,

The wildflowers are beautiful. I have felt the need to get out, before the days is too hot and humid. The insect photo is cool, love the lavender color too. Pretty images and mosaic. Stay cool! Enjoy your day and I wish you a happy new week!

It has been very hot here as well. I am thinking of going back to the mall to walk until the temps moderate. We did see some wildlife at Grimmwood. Our Kingfisher was back along with our blue heron. I heard the Hoot Owl but we never can spot him. A few bats were flying at dusk as well. Life from the porch is always interesting.

I took my pups on a hike yesterday morning before the rain...returned soaking wet...from sweat.

Wildflowers are so beautiful. That insect photo is really amazing. Such detail. We all need to get out into nature and observe - it's good for us, and fun, too. Have a great week, Diane.

Oh my, the lavender flower and the little critter is beautiful. That lavender flower was there just for you cause you love lavender so much. That would be a great Header picture. The orange flowers are so pretty, and I love their color. So many wonderful things you see on your hikes, Diane. Your posts always call me to nature, my friend.

ps....just wanted to tell you that was Francesca on my post today. I mentioned Mia, my other grandbaby, cause I want to get a hat for her also. I didn't clarify enough on my post, cause others thought it was Mia too...my mistake. : )

I have to say that that last photo of the pink flowers is very interesting--
They remind me of dandelion blooms gone to see--yet--they look like they have tiny lights on the end of each stem--and they are pink--awesome catch!
luv, di

Glad you were able to get out. I have not been able to get back into walking and I wish I could. All the flowers are pretty and I don't know what that bug is but it's pretty cool

I'm like you Diane, I have to get outside, even if it's hot. We've have quite a bit of heat and humidity so we get up early--6 am and walk before it's too hot to do so. Love seeing all the wildflowers that dot the landscape. Your husband captured a beautiful sight!

I always wonder how much fireworks disrupt the activities of nocturnal creatures. I would imagine that fireworks would be quite terrifying for them.

That is an interesting insect. I don’t know about you, but I am over fireworks. 🙃

Diane - glad you have been able to get out for hikes despite the heat. I know what a critical part of your life this is!! I look forward to additional flower identifications, but right now I want to know how something so lovely can be called a butterfly WEED! You know what I was up to over the weekend - anything outside! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday, and may this week's walks bring you much joy!

howdy there Girlfriend Diane, I am so glad you got out to hike some. I do hate being cooped up inside during the hot days. Love all these pretty wildflowers, they are so cheery!I am so tired of hearing the home fireworks that people do...I though it was over the day after and then all the days after....still it continues even TODAY i heard a few!! Time to put those away, folks! ha ha LOL

Gorgeous flowers. We have that butterfly weed here too and it makes a real statement! I love it. Great photo of the bug and God Bless you for hiking in the heat! I have enough heat just riding on the lawn mower! LOL! I laughed at your comment about the fireworks sale....you're funny. They woke me up this year...first time but they must have had some huge ones because I could also 'feel' it!

I do enjoy your hikes on Florida trails. Be it bugs or bunnies, they are always fun to see.

Mother Nature NEVER fails to be the balm that cures. The heat and my body simply do not get along.... so going outside during the hottest time is something I simply can not do. But early mornings are the time that Mother Nature has reserved for me. :) Your pictures are beautiful in this entry... as they always are! Love, Andrea xoxo
