I have so much to be thankful for this week that my list would take all day to create! It's been a super good week and now it's Thursday! A day to count our blessings!
We hiked one of our longest hikes this week so I'll have more pics to share later.
It was amazing!
I went to a White Elephant sale and found some neat items. I didn't go overboard buying this time! I'm Spring cleaning now so I don't need more 'stuff'! This is a sale in our community that happens twice a year. People bring their unwanted items and put a reasonable price on them to pass them on to someone else to enjoy.
I found this beautiful patriotic Longaberger basket that I 'needed'. It looks perfect on top of my fridge.
I also got 2 pretty butterfly necklaces.
And then Tom the Backroads Traveler will be proud of me! I FINALLY took the Christmas wreath off my front door this week. He made it for me and it has stayed pretty for over a month! And when I open the front door, it is 'inside' so we have enjoyed the wonderful scent of evergreen too. (We have a glass door on the outside and we open our big front door every day to let the sunshine in.
Well, I wanted to recycle the greenery so I took it apart. And VOILA! Now I have a pretty arrangement of pinecones (real), apples (artificial) and berries in my old dough bowl, on the kitchen table! Thanks Tom!
Do you have a long list this week too?
I’m joining Thankful Thursdays.

Oh that Longaberger basket was quite the find Diane!! Love it.
Hello
Your hike sounds nice. The patriotic basket is cute, great buy. I like the butterflies too. Your arrangement of pine cones and apples is pretty. Yes, I am thankful for many things too. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend ahead!
Great finds at the White elephant sale! How clever to reuse your fresh wreath in this way! I took a n evergreen wreath to the ranch a couple of years ago. I plopped it in a basket and put it on top of the fridge in the front room. For months when we would open the door on our vmonthly visit to the ranch we were greeted with the fresh smell of pine. I had forgotten about the wreath and could not figure out why that room smelled so good for the longest time!
Yes, I have so much to be thankful for. Last fall my sister Deanie was diagnosed with a dreadful type of dementia. Praise God we recently found out that, while she does have some dementia, it is not the terrible dreadful kind that would have drastically shortened her life. I will continue to praise and thank a God for my siblings every day of my life!
Good recycling! ☺️ Great header!
The basket really was a Great find. We went on a tour of Longaberger, but when we were living and traveling in our RV, so I resisted buying one for myself. Now ? If I found a bargain like you did, I’d “need” one too!
Diane, Another great hike. So funny about reusing the wreath...but then you are still enjoying it. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
p.s. got hugs from our Emma yesterday, her grandfather on her dad's side passed away. She's growing .
I love how you re-purposed the wreath - looks terrific!
...man oh man, you sure do hang on to things!
Yes, I do have a LONG list, and it is on my blog. But I love your list, and that pine cone wreath made into a lovely table decoration is perfect. I hate to let go of things like that too, especially when they are still so nice. Love that Longaberger basket! Do you know how much that would have cost when it was new? You are lucky/blessed to find it NOW! And it still looks new!! And patriotic too! Love it. I would love to know where you were hiking. That looks like a lovely place. Have you ever hiked to "Davenport Landing" north on HWY 19 headed up between Salt Springs and Palatka? It is a beautiful place to go and see the "landing" on the Ocklawaha River. Very historical place too. I'd wait until the leaves come out a little more before going. It is so pretty in the spring. It is a very beautiful spot for photographs once you get to the "landing". You would love it. Have a blessed day.
Your new basket is lovely. I am thankful for so many things, especially for each new day. I hope you have a super day, hugs, Edna B.
I love the table arrangement you have made. Recycling and Upcycling are the way to go.
I have several Longaberger Baskets and love them! That patriotic basket is so great! Lucky you finding it at a yard sale! I linked up with Rebecca Jo too! It is so uplifting to read about everyone's blessings!
My daughter used to go crazy for Longaberger baskets. I've been seeing them in a thrift shop near me quite often.
I like the arrangement you made from your dismantled wreath.
That is so awesome that you go on so many hikes. Please be careful and always go with your husband and don't go alone. It was so thoughtful to have your friend make you the natural wreath and that you have some of the items in your bowl. I am thankful for my gym friends as we have fun doing Zumba together each week! I hope you have a nice weekend Diane.
I LOVE that you have recycled Tom's wreath :) I also like the Longaberger basket. Never know what you might find at these sales. Thanks for linking up and have a GREAT weekend!
That first picture of you on the trail...love that one, so cute! Your basket is pretty, my Mom used to buy those, not sure if she kept them or not, I don't think I saw them when we were there last, before she passed on. They could be packed away tho.Love what you did w/th the wreath--great idea!
Long list - yes!
Finishing it - no!
But there is always tomorrow 😊
Beautiful post.I love how you rearranged your acorns .,so pretty! The butterfly necklaces are so pretty.. I hope you get to wear them. Happy Thankful Thursday.
That's a great basket! Good find. And you recycled the wreath elements, too! You're on a roll!
this made me smile diane. you are always so upbeat and positive, i'm glad you have so much to be thankful for. that's a great picture of you on the trail, camera in hand, doing what you love most!!
and what a great way to recycle and continue to enjoy your wreath!!!
That is a pretty basket!
I need to get rid of 'stuff' instead of buying more too, but sometimes it is hard to do.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Your old dough bowl arrangement looks GREAT! How fun to recycle the wreath components like this.
And I completely agree, you NEEDED that patriotic Longaberger basket! It is a treasure!
I love your arrangement!

Oh, I wish we had this White Elephant Sale in our community. How nice to get a little something for your items. I like the basket - it reminds me of the 4th of July. Your pinecone arrangement with apples and berries is charming. It's a nice addition on your kitchen table. I love real pinecones. Always enjoy and appreciate your "Thankful Thursday" posts, Diane. : )
