The Red-Shouldered Hawk and a little 3D Fun!

We hiked at Blue Run Park! Yes it was hot and humid even in the morning but we saw so many beautiful birds and critters. It was worth it.

This Red-Shouldered Hawk was fun to photograph.

Maybe it was a young one?

Or maybe it was just reacting to the heat and humidity.

It can make your hair do wild and crazy things.

Think what it could do to your feathers! heehee!

And since I introduced you to the 3D Objects on my last post HERE,

I thought you might like to see the other 'critter' we saw that day. Looks neat, don't you think?

Oh, it's a Ribbon Snake. Not harmful but I don't consider them 'friendly' either!

And just one more from that day. The Green Heron peeking out from between the trees.

I'm using the free photo editing program Photoscape and having a ball! Be careful! I might make YOU into something 3D!

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Great shots of the Red-shouldered Hawk, an uncommon species here. Stay well down there. Seems like Covid-19 is totally out of control.

Please stop giving me new ideas on how to use photoscape I've already been playing with the Transformations and the three days and now you made me think I didn't try the 3D on a person. What's next?

i would not be able to walk in florida's hot and humid temperatures!! i am NOT whining, i am a happy girl...but physically it would not be possible for me. maybe that is why i live in new jersey!!! today, we are having florida weather, it will be an inside day for me today!!

it is a beautiful hawk, wild feathers and all!! i am not a fan of snakes...out in the wild i can not identify them, so they all kind of unnerve me. the green heron image is great, it looks like he is checking the area, before heading out!!

stay safe diane, florida is a dangerous place to be right now!! have an awesome weekend, whatever you do!!

Hi Diane. I'm positive that is young hawk. It's just not concerned about your proximity whereas an adult would. I had to look very close to make out the Ribbon Snake. What a cool creature. We get very few snakes here in the UK so any snake is interesting for us.

Great photos, as always!! You are so brave to hike in this heat and humidity!

Fun photos of the hawk. I don't like how well that snake blends into things. Yikes! I really need to check out the Photoscape. Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

reminded me of a Khardashian trying to scratch with those long talons! It looks young in the face, wide eyed and new to this hunting business

The hawk looks a bit ruffled up, maybe a way to stay cool? I like the Green Heron picture it looks like a piece of art. But then, nature is always best.

Nice photos!! The hawk did look a bit rumpled.

If I see a snake, harmful or not, I go the other way. And normally photograph it from yards away with the zoom lens. You're so brave! Your beautiful hawk would have a meal...did you tell it about the snake? Great photos Diane.

Thanks so much for coming by I'd Rather B Birdin this week and linking in!

My son and daughter in law moved to Florida 3 years ago. They are professional with a Masters Degree. They live in a gated community on a golf course. With a pool and many other fun things to do.

You sure have a lot of great places to walk in Florida. But I stay away from the fresh water due to alligators

Great pictures, Diane. With our heat and humidity here this summer it has felt like Florida. The bonus is that everything is lush and beautiful.
You can keep the ribbon snake for your own enjoymennt. xo Diana

I love your hawk photos...yes, he does appear to be young. Just kind of still has that baby face. I love to watch them too. And that ribbon snake...I watched one snatch a baby cardinal out of a nest one day and have it for lunch, with the parents screaming at him. I'll never forget it and the way the parent cardinals cried. So I don't really like these snakes much, even if they aren't poisonous...they are enemies to our birds. But I can't interfere with "nature" and the way they survive. That Green Heron is gorgeous. I love your 3D program. I may have to figure that out for fun. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Howdy my friend, just stoppin in to say howdy and hope you've had a real nice weekend. It's still hot here. You got some great pictures of the hawk and even from the first picture I said to myself " he looks so SHAGGY"...?? All ruffled up, maybe a young juvenile perhaps. We only took one short and sweet walk this weekend and that was ALL I COULD handle with the heat and humidity, LOL. Hugs!

Lovely hawk and I’m so impressed with your 3D photos...wow! Off to read your previous post about it. Always Nice surprises here.

Beautiful photos of the red shouldered hawk. Your haircut is very beautiful. Greetings Caroline

Oh, the things you see on your hikes! The red-shouldered hawk has messy feathers all over his body hehehe. He's probably a young one. Yikes, I thought the snake was a tree branch at first! It's good that you know which ones are harmful and which ones are not. I would probably jump if I saw that. The 3-D of the trees is very cool. : )
