I probably should start this post with AHHHCHOOO!
Yes we have pollen everywhere!
But the birds are singing and the wildflowers are blooming!
So how can I complain?
I tried to ID a few of the wildflowers that are blooming right now.
I have a new Florida Wildflower book by C, Ritchie Bell and Bryan J. Taylor so that really helps!
Alligator Weed + alligator shaped root = 2 baby alligators?
And if the birds and wildflowers aren't enough to make you smile (and you missed my last post), I hiked the Florida trails with my youngest son a few days ago!
Believe me...I am STILL smiling!
Have you had signs of Spring where you live?
I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

Hike ON! love the pics of the two of you and for some reason my favorite photo today is the kayak... love it. the berry vine and the woodsorrel and another weed has taken over the yards in our neighborhood. when we walk we are breathing pollen, the oak trees have slowed down to a trickle but now the pine trees are raining yellow... achooooo is what we do when out doors and sometimes indoors too
My daughter has snow drops up in her garden bed. She planted some bulbs in our garden before we moved in but no sign of them yet. Sugar maples are producing sap which family is tapping and boiling. That's a sign of spring here in NH.
Oh I love the pictures. So glad you enjoyed your hike with your son. Girl, I am really in need of this pollen to leave. My poor husband is suffering. Seems the pollen gets worse every year. Have a great week and keep on hiking. You amaze me. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
...and it is here too. So you have alligators and alligator weeds, how nice.
Beautiful photos Diane. I can imagine you'll still be smiling for quite some time!
oooooh that alligator weed is so pretty, with it's miniature visitor!! there are some sign of spring, a few of the early blooming daffodils are starting to open up!! and the robins are everywhere!!
i don't have allergies but i know they can really be troublesome. here, just when the weather warms up and you want to be outside, boom, allergies hit you hight in the face!! i wonder if birds sneeze!?!?
Haha ... bless you, as the saying goes and thanks for sharing your world.
I can see you had a great day hiking with your son. Awesome! I love all your beautiful wildflowers that are blooming. And thanks for putting the names with them. You have a super day, hugs, Edna B.
How wonderful that your son joined you for your hike. The photo of the person in the kayak put chill bumps all over me. I love kayaking but not in water where there could be alligators swimming by or coming up under the boat.
I love iris and your little blue flag iris is so pretty. I found wearing a mask for the pandemic helps my pollen allergies. That means I am wearing a mask in my front yard too.
BOM DIA JESUS... BOM DIA MÃE MARIA SANTÍSSIMA... BOM DIA ESPÍRITO SANTO... BOM DIA A TODOS NÓS!!! TENHAMOS UM OLHAR DE MISERICÓRDIA.🙏🌹♥️🇧🇷🕊️🕯️📿🏠🙏
So happy to see you hiking with you son. I'm also happy to see your Florida. You have changed at least one person's mind about your state. The trails they have laid out for people are just fabulous.
Luv the 'alligator' mosaic. Have a good week.
Happy you dropped by my blog today, Diane
Much💜love
Bless you! (We have allergies here too his time of year , so I’m used to saying that.). Super hike, I love the wild flowers . And how cool your son is visiting.
Beautiful pictures! Even of the scary baby gators.
Love seeing you and your son!
I'm grateful my allergies are not near what they were when I was younger. I seemed to have 'grown out' of most of them.
Pollen is a good word here. We see pollen on our honeybees and smile. The nectar should be flowing soon.
All such beautiful pictures - as always!
Like Sandra, I love that blue kayak!
Rainbow River---so lovely. Love your mosaics. So cool to have a wildflower book. Always makes me feel closer to nature when I know the names of the plants.
Take care,
MB
How wonderful to take a scenic hike with your son! I love the photos of you both. 42 hikes is outstanding!! I have been a slug the past few months and need to get back to hiking.
Wow, 42 hikes already. Way to go.
Thank you for sharing all of these beautiful photographs.
Yes, I can well imagine that you will be smiling for quite some time yet :)
Have a lovely week.
All the best Jan
Congratulations on all those hike!!
Signs of spring here are, the town pond isn't frozen anymore and the snow is gone!
Wonderful photos.
The wildflowers are beautiful.
So great to go hiking with your son.
My son went with me today.
Love the baby crocs too.
Love those beautiful photos...I enjoy seeing the different wildflowers that are starting to bloom everywhere now. They are so pretty. They are my favorite flowers because they grow without any care from humans...God takes care of them and they come back year after year! I could do without the stinging nettles, however...they are right at ankle height and you have to be SO careful now to brush against them! I am noticing a LOT of them this spring already where we walk, so I am being extra careful! Love the alligators and the kayak and the birds too...and especially the pictures of you and your son hiking. That was was wonderful!!! I know you were so happy. I hope you can do that more often! Does he live far?
Visiting here is always so sweet! Great photos and I always learn something new! How fun to hike with your youngest and have those sweet memories to hold in your heart!! xo
How wonderful that you were able to hike with your son. A real treat I am sure. (Glad you hugged him! 😁)
LOVE the sidebar photo. And my goodness, you are going to make a new record in hikes this 2021! High Fives to you.
And thank you for sharing alligators with us, you know they are my favorite.
Love, Carla
Diane - the pictures of your son and you with him brought such a huge smile to my face! It is such a precious gift to spend time with our adult kids!!! It's so exciting to see the spring birds and flowers ... I know this is in our future and I am positively salivating with anticipation. I also really liked the picture with the blue kayak. Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
What beautiful wildflowers you have! I love your beautiful collages, so well done! And the picture of the kayaker is so lovely! What a special time to go hiking with your son... indeed something to keep smiling about! That is so awesome that you have done 42 hikes already this year! So much to see and enjoy in God's beautiful world! Many blessings to you :)
Yikes on the baby alligators. Spring is full on here and any day now we will get the dreaded yellow pollen covering everything. My itch eyes and nose says it is coming soon. xo Laura
Me gustan todas las flores silvestres. Encantada de que lo pasaras bien con tu hijo. Besos.
I'll bet the hike with your son provided a smile on your face for days! I know it would me too. :) Yes, spring is all around us here in northern-most Indiana and has been for over 3 weeks now. Lots of people think spring means the lack of snow and reality is quite opposite. Signs of spring are all around, even while the snow falls. ~Andrea xoxo
How wonderful to hike with your son. 42 hikes already? Wow! I wish we had nice hiking trails like you. I think you might have helped me id some plants from here too. I need to get a book for here. Take care!
Wow, that is an impressive amount of hikes and it's only March. Your son looks just as happy as you :).
It's already summer at the side of my world, and it's really wonderful to see nature flourish there as we get close to 100 F. Great exploring of birds and wilderness from your hike, and you have nailed it with your photography. Thanks for your visit.
Great photos! Love the wildflowers!
Congrats on all the hikes! Great photos! Lovely seeing the signs of Spring.
Rainbow River certainly has a rainbow of flowers. What beautiful discoveries on your walk!
I love that you were able to hike with your son. Your smile says it all! The alligator variations were very interesting. Keep on hiking!
That alligator shaped root is something else! Looks just like an alligator! It's wonderful that you got to hike with your youngest son. A mother and son's relationship is so special, and they often make us laugh. No Spring here yet, but the sun is shining today and the snow has melted. It will come in its own time. This is a special photo of you and your son, Diane.
~Sheri
I enjoyed looking at the pretty photos of nature. I'm so happy you went with you son on the trails.
42 hikes....well done you! Lovely photo Diane of you and your son! The almond tree blossom tells us here that spring is on its way :-) Keep well Amanda x
wonderful too see from your hiking. Your spring is much ahead or ours. No green trees yet and the snakes still sleeping. I´m waiting for birds.
Thanks for sharing!
He is so handsome and has your smile.
