Keeping a Gratitude Journal

Years ago, I kept a gratitude journal and this week I decided to start a new one. I write in journals every day and have for years! I write in my day planner about the interesting happenings of the day! And I write in my hiking journal to document our hikes, how far we go, how long we hike, weather, sightings and anything of interest.

I love beautiful journals and have some I've been saving for 'special'. So I'll start something new this week. We've had both of our Covid Vaccine shots so it's time to 'live a little'! And write down what I'm thankful for each and every day!

I've had such a good week and so many good hikes and walks. The pair of Canada Geese at the neighborhood pond have little goslings now.

Aren't they just the cutest thing ever?

It was funny that a Red-winged Blackbird got into the photo above!

I wish I could have gotten closer but I didn't want to bother them!

I get so much joy from the birds and critters here in Florida

Amaryllis and Bougainvillia are in bloom right now too!

A beautiful Florida sunset always makes you pause and give thanks too!

Have you had a good week?

Thanks to all of you who enjoy this journey with me

...discovering the real Florida....

and take the time to leave such sweet comments!

I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

I'm linking with All Seasons at the Jesh Studio,

Also I like Thursdays HERE.

Always enjoy your photos! I use my blog as my gratitude journal and use my paper calendar to keep track of day to day and mileage. Though many people keep track of appointments electronically I'm sticking with paper. Have a good week!

I have kept a gratitude journal at different seasons in my life. They have been such a great help to develop what has become a lifelong habit of living with a grateful heart in all things. I'd say you starting your new journal, now that you have your Covid vaccine shots, is a beautiful way to celebrate 'living a little' again.

I so enjoyed your wonderful photos of Momma Goose and her goslings. Those places where we interact with nature's wonder and beauty add so much joy to our lives, don't they? I'm glad you share your wonder moments with us.

Wishing you a pleasant week ahead, Diane.

Hi Friend,
I have three journals and will be starting number four this week. I have a prayer journal, a ski/snowshoe journal, a garden journal and this week I will be starting a kayak journal. My husband and I got kayaks!! We have been saving for over a year. And then there was a shortage on them. We are so happy they came back in stock. It should be warm enough for us to venture out this week.
Love, Carla

Those little goslings are indeed adorable. I love to watch the mommas take care of their babies. So sweet.
Wow, those amaryllis are really gorgeous. Are they yours? I used to plant mine in the garden at my previous house. They never made an impact like the ones in your photo, however.

Barbara said...

Yes, for sure, the Bougainvillia are so beautiful right now. I don't want to plant anything new in my yard, but if I did, that's what I would get.

Birds, blooms, sunsets, it's all beautiful. How wonderful to live in an area where you can see all of these.
A gratitude journal is a great idea.

Yes, there is so much to be thankful for, living here in Florida. We truly are blessed, aren't we? I will be sharing some little "blessings" that arrived on our pond this morning later in my blog. I love to see that you have some Canada Geese goslings in your neighborhood. They are so cute. And that red winged blackbird was just being a typical photo bomber! There's always got to be that one that wants to get some extra attention! Thank you for sharing your happy pictures with us. Have a blessed and wonderful week.

Diane - a couple of years ago, fellow blogger Sylvia wrote that "Giving thanks is the other side of prayer." Ever since then, I have been keeping a gratitude list. I am glad you are treating yourself to a new journal - and congrats on your vaccine shots!!! Is that a new header? It is gorgeous, and I also think the goslings are ADORABLE!!! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

Do you know - it could be time for me to start a gratitude journal! Yours is a lovely book, I like the idea of using it now and not saving for best! Now we're into the second year of covid dramas & not being able to see the family is hard, I'd certainly be starting with being grateful for the vaccine as well!
Have a lovely week enjoy those goslings growing up at the pond!

LOVE THE ducks and their cute little babies! And the pretty flowers. I know one thing.....you will have the PRETTIEST JOURNAL ever, the way you re-do those old books and such, you make such pretty things. I love journals, I kept one for years and years and have gotten out of the habit after the last grown child left the nest. I can barely keep up with blogging, ha ha!! But I do love making journals and photo scrapbooks.

Hello Diane,
Gratitude is an important practice for contentment. I journal regularly, and once or twice did a gratitude challenge of writing down 1000 thankyous. Your journals of gratitude and of your hikes and outings must be fun to look over. The Canada Geese goslings look so sweet and fluffy. Enjoy your week!

I journal about "everything!" First it was to process things about my clients, and now it's about my paintings and m experiences:) Gratitude is a life style, it should be part of a Christian's daily life:) Your hike must have been shorter? Or, you just got taken by the baby ducks:):)? Many thanks for sharing it with All Seasons, and have a relaxed week1 Hope you still will visit me outside All Seasons? Jesh

It is a great idea to keep a gratitude journal. Always wonderful to go back and read what happened several years ago, a family history. Your photos are delightful, I especially enjoyed the goslings. I saw a few yesterday but my photos didn't come out as sharp as these. Yours are perfect. Thanks Diane, enjoy the rest of your week :)

I used to write a gratitude journal daily and I still have some of them. Now, I just make a list at the end of the day -- sometimes on paper, sometimes in my head. But always. It's a wise thing to do -- keeps the world in perspective.

Thank you for sharing your writing and gratitude with us now! And your photos! You are an inspiration. And Florida looks amazing this time of year through your eyes!

Hi Diane,
how nice to read that you write in notebooks every day. I used to keep a diary too, but since the death of my grandson that has actually not happened anymore. Maybe I should do it again.
You have now had both shots against the covid and that is good news. Can you start living a little bit again.
The pictures of the little geese are cute but all the little ones are hihi ....
Your sunset is also a very beautiful one, but I think your openigs photo with the motto on it is really beautiful!
A kiss,
Kind regards, Helma

Oh those goslings are so precious.

I have never gotten into Journaling... But having pretty ones, must make it more enticing.

Ahhhhh, you happened to turn on that old movie, as he was "crash landing" on her farm. -smile- So you saw Myrna Loy's lovely soft hair style! Seeing it, with a little breeze, really showed what I love about that old, old style. -smile-

That's wonderful that you have a gratitude journal.....and that you write in it every day! I love pretty journals, but it's been awhile since I wrote in mine. I've been meaning to, as I have lots to say since the move. The red flowers are so pretty, and those little goslings are precious. I like the "earth" quote, that's so true. And your Header with the deer is fantastic. I'm sure as I scroll down, I will see those sweet deer again. ; )
