I hope everyone had a beautiful Mother's Day weekend. We had a wonderful Sunday. The weather is so fabulous here right now that we're working in a few extra hikes. It's hot already and it will only get hotter!
But the mornings are nice and there are wildflowers and butterflies on every trail.
We even had a neat sighting in our front yard.
A Monarch butterfly was on our rose bushes and then it flew down to the grass.
Hubby put his hand out and it crawled right up onto his hand.
We don't see as many Monarchs and it was a special treat to see it up close and personal.
Lots of other butterflies, bugs and bees to share!
I may need to do a few more posts while I'm seeing so much and taking so many photos.
Are you spending time outdoors this Spring?
Here are a few more of the bunny I saw on Beauty Berry Lane (49th Ave trailhead).
It's nice to go outside, even if it is just in your own backyard.
I picked my first few blackberries on a hike this weekend. And yes I ate them without washing them first. I blew on them! hahaha!

the first photo is unique and pretty.... never seen it in nature
# Happy mother day
Perhaps when pollen season is long gone, I will sit outside more. I have a big bouquet of flowers to spark my interest, along with birds and squirrels.
More hikes while you can! Yes! Those monarchs are something!
...wowza, what great images! Have a fabulous week!!!
This is a wonderful series of photos.
We do not see the monarch butterfly and the fritillary butterfly in the Netherlands in the wild, but they are in butterfly gardens in a special greenhouse.
Greetings Irma
Your photos are breathtaking!! Thank you! Have a wonderful week. Cathy
Wonderful butterfly pictures!! I need to get outside more and watch for them. I am sure I am missing some beauties. I love that monarch that came onto your hubby's hand. I wonder if he was injured? I am watching for some since my milkweed plant is blooming...I hope it will attract them. Oh, the bunny is so sweet. We don't see many of them here in our yard, but we sure had them back in Salt Springs. I loved them. And I am quite sure you will survive eating those fresh wild blackberries w/o washing them first. I doubt seriously any nasty sprays of insecticides or fertilizers have been put on them...just God's wonderful natural rains and pollinators. We have some growing around here but the birds seem to get them all before I can get to them. That's okay...that's who God put them there for. (and maybe a snack for hikers now and then as well). Take care and have a wonderful week. It is getting hot way too fast. enjoy the cool mornings and evenings while you can!
When I come and visit you here I always feel amazed at what you're able to catch with your camera, Diane dear!
Such wonderful butterflies and a lovely bunny looking not scared at all, it's all so so beautiful!
Have a great week my friend

Such beauty you see on your hikes and in your own yard. Wow, those are great photos of the monarch. Glad you were able to capture them. We are seeing a lot of bunnies in our yard this spring.
precious bunny. we have one we see when we walk each morning but not many butterflies. rare to see the monarch. still nice walking weather before the sun gets to high in the sky
Such wonderful pictures. Happy Monday. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
The butterfly photos are beautiful. Sweet bunny you saw too.
I just love butterflies!
You take the best photos! What beautiful butterflies!!
I love bunnies, so the pics of the bunny made me smile.
I love that you blew off the berries...lol. Sounds okay to me!
It's been really hot here in Alabama also. That's okay with me. I love Summer!
Have a great week!

You will never guess what I seen in downtown Melbourne last week--on my way back from the thrift store and the plant store-- in front of one business is a wood fence with uneven slates in it--and right next to the side walk and low and behold there was black snake with his body coming in and out of the slates and the front part of him was hanging in mid air and he was hissing at me--and no I did not take time to take out my cell phone and take his photo--he looked a bit unhappy about where he was!!!! the next day I did see a small orange butterfly on my walk around the block--but she did not land long enough for a photo!!!!!
LOve all your bug and butterfly photos--great shots--hugs, di
Lovely photos. We enjoy being out in our woods - all 21 acres of it. :)
Butterflies are so darn pretty and amazing. The bunny is pretty cute, too!! Thanks for taking us along on your trails. xo
Hello, my Jeep-loving friend! Your hikes are always full of such beauty. And fresh blackberries! My very favorite! Have a cozy evening!
I love May. Everything is so pretty now and the weather is right for being outside. I too saw a monarch butterfly last week. I definitely noticed it because I don't feel like we see many anymore either.
Super bounty of springtime! I love the bunny
Lovely photos! That bunny looks like it is straight out of a storybook.

Goodness Diane. More outstanding photographs of nature. I love butterflies, and the Monarch is my favorite.
It's a very pleasant 22 - 23 degrees here, so we are outside much of the day most days and it is wonderful. Migrant birds are everywhere and butterflies and dragonflies only add to the excitement. It happens every spring!
So many good shots. I can't believe the butterfly landed in hubby's hand, that's really cool. We only see butterflies here and there, sad.....they were so plentiful when I was a kid. Glad you're enjoying the spring and getting out to hike. My walking has slowed down, we've had so much rain; and todays steps will be mowing...not as nice as walking.

Oh my it's getting HOT HERE DOWN IN THE SOUTH!!! Love the new pictures. Y'all see ALOT of flowers and butterflies I've never seen before and it's fun to learn about them. That monarch was human friendly!! Hugs!
Of course I love the bunny. But wow! What an experience to have that glorious butterfly crawl onto the hand. That would be like a little miracle.
What an outstanding display of a bit of Florida's natural bounty!
Lovely photographs!
All of that AND fresh berries! Gotta love the Sunshine State.
You take the most wonderful butterfly photos. These are beauties, and remind me of Fall colors. The bunny is sweet too. I'm glad you got to pick and taste some blackberries on your walk. They are the best that way. Jess has a little strawberry plant in her back yard, and there are a few that are getting ripe enough to pick and eat!
Have a happy May week, Diane.

Yes, it is nice to go outside - as you've shown us with these lovely photos. Thanks for sharing!
I love butterflies, dear blogfriend. Do you heard about the fox bandworm? I can be dangerous. Please be carefully.
There are many interestings things here to see, to read. I enjoyed your post.
Thank you for sharing and being part at
MosaicMonday.
Have a wonderful week.

Beautiful butterfly photographs and nice to see the sweet bunny too.
All the best Jan
What beautiful photos! I love that jewel of an insect in the first photo, whatever it is.
How special to see a Monarch. I've enjoyed looking at all of your wonderful photos, but that little beauty of an insect in the first one is my favorite; whatever it is.
That delicate insect in the first photo is beautiful, whatever it is. Enjoyed reading through this post very much.
Thoroughly enjoy the highlights of your hikes through your photos, especially the first photo with that lovely insect.
Beautiful monarch butterfly, Diane! I saw my first butterfly the other day--such a surprise here as we have been cool and rainy here this spring.
I love blackberries! I used to find them wild in Brooklyn along a salt marsh trail. I tried growing them here from seeds but had no luck.
Blowing on wild-picked berries is quite sufficient in my book! I didn't even know they grew here in the Sunshine State. We have blackberries in abundance in Oregon, even on our daughter's acreage where they struggle to keep them from taking over. (We help by picking the best ones, ha ha!)
You should "hike" in your front yard more often. Who knows what surprises await you.
