We see some unusual sights when we hike and one thing I find interesting is the feathers on the trail.
I don't see one every time I hike, so I've been saving these photos for about a month.
It's hard to know what bird they come from but it's fun to speculate!

And then there are the fuzzies.
I had no idea what this was until I did an online search.
Salt Marsh Tiger Moth
I found a good website for the ID HERE.
It's fun to spot caterpillars in the tall grasses too.
Something just draws your eye to them.
How about these?
Can you spot two of them?
And just for fun, a titmouse flew towards me and I think I involuntarily took a pic! lol
It's a beautiful Fall in Florida, cooler temps and even some much needed rain showers.

If I were to guess, I would say an egret. There are not too many birds that are that snow white! I have never heard of a Salt White Tiger Moth, but they certainly are interesting.

that moth is spectacular! wow and wow again. I love all the feathers, no matter what they came from. we got 1/8 inch one day and another 1/8 the next. that is it, we are so bad now they are talking no more watering of grass
Hi Diane, What lovely, fuzzy, fluffy, soft animals those treasures came! I think some were Rabbits. I Love Bunnies! The yellow flowers were so pretty. The creepy, crawlers, are cute! All in all, a very nice hike!
The fluffy feathers and textures are really special! What a selection!
I sometimes find feathers in the garden too, but I can only identify Blue jay feathers. A lovely post full of soft and fuzzies!! I like seeing all the little things you find on trails.

I can't identify any of them but those feathers are all wonderful. I have never heard of that kind of moth. It's really quite spectacular.

Feathers are fascinating! I have two large ones in a container next to my computer. One is black with a white edge, perhaps from a vulture. The other one is brown with black crossways stripes, perhaps from a hawk or an owl.

I have no idea what the feathers are from. I always like spotting a caterpillar unless it is eating my plants of course.

Feathers are from wings, isn't. Birds fly away to heaven, seeing the clouds, the sun, the moon. So we get for a moment emotional wings if we find a feather...

You did well spotting the caterpillars Diane. It looks to me like the first feather is from a raptor and the white ones from egrets, especially if they are near water. Enjoy your Sunday.

I don't know what feathers those birds belong to, but that white one sure is lovely. The caterpillar photos are cool too. You always come across some interesting things on your hikes. A deer visited on my back porch recently, and it was such a surprise. Happy Thanksgiving to you.

I can hardly identify the birds with all their feathers on it. A single feather? I don't have a chance.
Great pics of our fall trails. A little rain has produced a bumper crop of blooms which has produced a bumper crop of bugs. Just in time for a bumper crop of migrating birds to eat 'em!

What a fantastic blog. I love feathers. Usually, I pick them up. Yesterday, I saw a lot of white feathers on the forest floor in one place. I think a bird got caught by a buzzard.

I come across feathers every once in a while on my hides. Usually feathers kind of like yours but sometimes a big mess of duck feathers that I think indicates a coyote got a hold of a waterfowl. Occasionally a hawk or owl feather. I leave all the finds in place and take only photos so the next person can enjoy the find.
Loved the titmouse picture - great job catching the shot. It looks like something chasing you in a horror movie. Shows how pictures can be deceptive.
