Oh Deer! The Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway

I don't know why but we have been seeing deer on most of our hikes this week.

Some of our hikes are in the morning and others in the afternoon and we are taking different trails.

But it's a joy to see them.

These are along the Marjorie Carr Cross Florida Greenway so there is no hunting.

They get used to people hiking and bikes riding too.

I get a thrill spotting them in the forest.

I love this young buck.

He has the smallest rack of antlers!

What a beautiful animal!

And we are seeing Eastern Bluebirds every day.

This one was joined by a friend.

The Bluebird didn't budge when a Warbler flew in.

And they seemed content to share this old snag.

It's been perfect hiking weather this week.

How's the weather at your house?

For those concerned please click on the link HERE to read the facebook page started by the Greenway Guardians. Duke Energy is proposing a project to build high voltage power lines through the Greenway. As you can imagine this would be disastrous to wildlife, birds and their habitat. Thanks to those fighting to preserve the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway.

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

  and Mosaic Monday HERE !

Beautiful deer sightings! I haven't seen any yet this season, but we haven't really been out for any length of time yet due to recuperation issues here at home. Hopefully now we will be able to get out more. Love the bluebird and the warbler. We've had a bluebird couple hanging around the birdhouse, but not going in. Not sure what their intentions are. Hey! It's raining right now! It wasn't forecasted, so this is a bonus, and we certainly do need it! Thank You, Lord!! I will be watching to see what happens with the Duke Energy proposition. I didn't know about that. Not a good thing at all!

Diane, I loved seeing your blog today. The deer are beautiful. Glad they are not along a busy highway. The bluebirds are so nice. I miss having them . We had them in the country, but I have not even seen any in town. Rarely see any of the song birds. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie

What a treat to spot those deer. I love that first picture. It just sort of calls you in to follow the path.
I sure hope they can win the battle against the energy company. I think enough wildlife habitats have been destroyed in the name of progress.

Hi Diane, Another great post here. I am so with you about the young buck … what a beautiful animal and your captures are excellent. You took excellent advantage of your perfect weather this past week. You asked about our weather: This past week it was off and on, part sunny breaks, and part stormy with some heavy rain and strong winds. As I write this morning I hear the rain on the roof … love it! 😊 Have a happy weekend and week ahead. John

Wow, you are seeing lots of deer there. We do have hunting season happening now until the end of January. I loved all your deer images, great captures.
The Bluebirds and Warbler are pretty, always a treat to see. Our weather is colder now, we try to take a brisk walk during the warmer part of the day.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thanks for leaving me a comment.

Hello Diane:=)
You took beautiful photos of the deer. Delightful photo of The young buck.

Who knew there was so much to see during Autumn in Florida?
Oh, wait. You and I did! Hasn't it felt great these past mornings?

The reason you're seeing so many deer is financial.

More bucks mean more doe.
You never herd that?
No need to fawn over it, it's true.

:)

See y'all out there.

The deer look so healthy and in their prime.
That seems to be wonderful area for a hike so I hope the electrical plans don't come to happen.

Wonderful shots of the deer.
We have deer every day out back. We never grow tired of watching them.

The deer are beautiful and the young buck looks so handsome. Here in Nara, we often see pictorial “Watch-out Deer” road sign. It’s been so beautiful but a little too warm. Have a nice week and hikes.

Beautiful deer and pretty birds, I love reading about your hikes. Here in the Southern California mountains, I'm hoping for freezing weather any night now. Did you see that I have a new blog? www.desertcanyonstories.blogspot.com Maybe I told you this already, I just want to make sure.

What a great thing, to get such scenes with the Camera. Dear Diane, it must be a wonderful feeling walk through the wood, meet a deer or some birds, like you show us here in your lovely post.

Thank you for sharing at MosaicMonday.
Hugs by Heidrun ... wishing you a very good week

Dear Diane,
you brought enchanting images of nature - whether they were pretty deer, adorable Eastern Bluebirds and Warblers, or butterflies suckling on beautiful flowers. What's not nice at all is that Duke Energy is proposing a project to build high voltage power lines through the Greenway. I don't understand (and I don't believe) that energy production always has to go hand in hand with the destruction of nature...
Warm November greetings and hugs!

Your first photo looks like a painting -- it is BEAUTIFUL!

Lots of deer. My step-son was deer-hunting this past weekend in Minnesota -- they were not out in numbers there like they are here....

We feed the deer in our backyard. They like apple flavored corn. We saw a cute little fawn with spots last night. But I'm a little upset because they ate my pansies!

You got some amazing shots of the deer. Eventhough we have a lot of deer in Pennsylvania, I always get excited when I see them up close.

Gorgeous photos of the deer! They look so sleek and healthy, too. Do be sure to wear something bright on your hikes. Hunters don't always stay where they are supposed to. x K

I love the deer pictures! Our deer here only come out at dusk and my pictures never turn out. Florida deer are out in the bright sunshine--- so neat to see!

OH DEAR!! I just love those deer when they come into our sight on trails, and even in our neighborhoods. And this Buck is so young and handsome. I love when I get to see the Bucks on your posts, as I often only see the females, maybe searching for food for their little ones. This looks like a woodsy area you hiked on, and so pretty. Those bluebirds are the sweetest birds. Off to check out your link now. Have a peaceful weekend, Diane.
