When we want to see a lot of birds and wildlife, we head to Blue Run Park.
It's also a place to 'visit' with a few regulars. A lot of people go there every day to walk or ride bikes so it's fun to see some familiar faces.
We love seeing the boats on the Rainbow River too.
The bridge is near where the Rainbow River and Withlacoochee Rivers come together.
I have one pictured below but he really blends into the trees!
I love my forest hikes but you can see a lot more birds and wildlife at Blue Run Park!

This is so neat and I sure enjoyed seeing all of the pictures of the water fowl, the hawk and even the gators. It is neat that you all have this place to be able to enjoy nature at its fullest. The red shouldered hawk is so very pretty. Have a beautiful day.
That White Ibis photo is a gem. It's like peeking into a secret world.
What wonderful and peaceful place! Great photos. Hugs and blessings.
You got some excellent shots. The Red Shouldered Hawks are beautiful. Sounds like a place that I would love to visit and I'm near Fort Lauderdale so it might be far away.

Wow, what a great adventure, dear Diane. It's a pleasure to read about... from my sure room. I fear the alligators. But its interesting to see your reportage.

Hello Diane,
I can see why your return to this park for your walks.
It is filled with lots of wildlife.
Great variety of birds, the gators and the cute turtles.
The Wood Duck is one of my many favorite birds. Great post and photos.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend.
The turtles look very happy — recently I read a book that described turtle life, especially what amazing personalities they have. I also enjoyed your birds.

Hi Diane, I never tire of your fascinating posts. Many excellent photos in this one. You know, I have to wonder, do you think a gater ever thinks it could be fast enough to capture one of those birds? 😊 I’ll bet it does happen, but rarely. Thanks for sharing Lavender Dreams. Happy weekend and week ahead to you and yours. John
beautiful series of critter photos from your hike ~ awesome! thanks, hugs,

A male Wood Duck is a spectacular bird that impresses every time. I don't think any one ever becomes blasé about it.
Wow! A spectacular hike.

Looks like you had a wonderful day spotting all these creatures. Love the photos!
What a beautiful series of photos.
The two alligators are really special for me to see in the wild, we have to go to a zoo for them.
I love seeing the Red-shouldered Buzzards.
I enjoyed your photos.
Greetings Irma
Beautiful photos. Most birds we don't have them here. Have a nice sunday!
What wonderful wildlife you saw here. I really enjoyed going along with you on this hike through your post.
Great place! I especially love the ibis and the wood duck
The wood ducks are so pretty. They add some color to the water. And the little yellow warbler is sweet with the yellow on the back of his feathers. The river photo is very nice, and I love it when the sun shines down and makes the waters glisten. You came across many unique characters on your walk today. This sounds like one of your favorite places to see wildlife.
Have a pleasant weekend and week ahead, Diane.

enjoy the rest of today and the new week ahead!!
That's such a great walk! It makes me want to drive straight to your part of Florida just so we can hike Blue Run trail. Gosh, it's the same state, why couldn't we do that? (Just checking with the other person in this house... huh, he said no! Imagine that!!) Thanks for sharing!!!
Alligators... my favorite.
Wood Ducks and turtles on logs are sights seen around here just now, too. You always find so much to see on your outings. The world is such a beautiful place!
