Don’t be MAD at me....

I know it will sound like I’m bragging....

but I went to TWO Fall festivals Saturday, Oct. 22nd!

(the Pickin’ Patch was last weekend)

I was SO tired and happy that I couldn’t fall asleep last night!

We drove to McIntosh to the BIGGEST and

most FABULOUS Festival in the history of Festivals!

I’ll do a couple of posts to show you everything but this morning I want to share photos of my ‘blog buddies’!

I met Sandy from the Olde Country Cupboard and her daughter, Samantha from Samantha’s Accessories.

They were both so sweet and FUN!

 

AND YES...I bought something ...

I’ll take photos SOON!

Then off we went to Brooksville to the Strong Tower Vineyard and Winery!

And who do you suppose was there?

My dear friend, Dianne from Pieces of D !

I told her I would be there with feathers in my hair

and she recognized me when I walked by!

We had SO much fun chatting and hugging! We were best friends already so it was like seeing her again after a long time...instead of for the first time!

(I bought something special that she made! I’ll post it soon)

The lady that put feathers in my hair was there, too!

So it was the BEST day and I am still BUZZING!

Feathers in my Hair!

I put my feathers in my hair (they just pin in)

and off we went exploring!

We drove out to Dunnellon to the Pickin’ Patch.

You can walk out in the field and cut your own pumpkin!

And it must be hard to choose just one

because most everyone had a wagon load!

(these kids were so cute and YES, I asked permission to take their photo and post it! )

This little guy was happy, too!

They had all kinds of neat displays and treats to snack on!

And if that wasn’t enough...they had a sunflower field

and you could pick your own sunflowers!

OR...go swingin’!!!

FUN FUN FUN!

And even more fun with feathers in your hair!

Crafting Crazzzzeee!!!

I’ve been crafting up a storm!

Nothing like a little rain and cooler weather to keep me inside sewing and crafting!

I’ve had so much fun with this pattern from the Olde Country Cupboard ! Her patterns are awesome!

Of course I’ve changed sizes and made it my own but it’s a great pattern to get started!

And the tiniest one I bought a couple of years ago! (it’s made from the same pattern)

I’m trying to ‘use what I have’! So when I ran out of the dark red, I started on a glittery piece of red felt.

I’m not sure if the candy cane will stay but I had to have something quick! heehee! The SUN is shining in TODAY!

And look what flew into Florida this week!

Kat sent me one of her hand crafted Bluebirds!

I walked over and put him in this dish...

looks like he was meant for some Lanai Livin’!

And thanks to my girlfriend, Katherine from Chatelet for encouraging me to show some of my little creations! (sometimes I get shy!) She has some beautiful Christmas creations on her blog right now, too!

PS I was just on Fanciful Twist and she gave instructions on how to make commenting EASY! Here’s what she wrote,

When choosing how folks will comment on your blog, you should consider trying the following when in your blogspot account.

1) Settings
2) Comments
3) Choose "Anyone" under Who Can Comment
4) Select Pop Up Window under Comment Form Placement
5) Save Settings

What do you get for a smile, a little patience and 53 cents?

My favorite Thrift Store opens at 10 am so by 11:30 or so, the line starts forming. I’ve mentioned before that this is a BIG Thrift store and it is CHEAP!

The clothes are 5 cents each and I think the shoes are, too!

So there was a family in line with several baskets FULL of clothes and shoes!

Their total was $4.25...so when you do the math...

they had 80 items! OH MY!

One person in front of me left!

So that meant, one lady and a couple in line in front of me!

I’m a pretty happy person and I have learned to be patient ‘in line’ anywhere! And yes...I smile a lot!

So when I put my little stack of treasures on the counter, the lady at the register said, “53 cents.”

The ziplock bag with the 3 cookie cutters was on top of the stack and it had $1 on it...she said it was half price.

I said, what about everything else?

She said...it’s yours for 53 cents.

 

I started to give her the correct change but pulled out a dollar bill and told her to put it all in the register.

Then I smiled and said Thank you!

Pumpkins or GOURDS? Which do you like best?

I’ve gone to TWO pumpkin patches now

and seen some of the most unique pumpkins!

(I’ve posted a BUNCH of PUMPKIN pics already! lol)

But I love the gourds best!

I put together this little arrangement for the lanai.

It’s nice and warm here in Florida

and this is where we spend most of our time!

I bought all of these gourds at the pumpkin patch for $3, the crate from the Thrift store for a dime and the crow from Michael’s for less than $2! I used some packing material that I saved....so it cost me less than $5 to put this together.

In my world that’s thrifty AND a little bit of a WOW...

finding ‘great buys’ so that I can get my decorating ‘fix’!

I was driving down the road to run errands....grocery store,

drugstore with a quick stop at the Hospice Thrift store....

when I spotted this pumpkin patch!

 

I had so much fun looking around and taking photos!

 

I’ve never seen such a good selection in such a small pumpkin patch!

Doesn’t the pumpkin look like LACE?

And the gourds were my favorites!

Got MILK?

I have the milk bottles!

We had a ‘White Elephant’ sale in our community and I bought some bottles!

Just what I needed to put above the ‘fridge!

I went right to the Thrift store to see if there were any little crates and I found three that I liked! Two of them were perfect for the milk bottles!
