Chan…chan….changes!

I guess we all look at our blogs when the new year starts and wonder what needs to be changed.

 

This year I’m going to blog a little more ‘spontaneously’.

Will most of my posts still come up at 8:33 in the morning? Probably! lol I don’t know what got me started on that time but it works well.

I may even blog about different subjects!

Maybe I’ll get wild and crazy! lol

We’ll see!

The photos I’m sharing in this post were all taken on Monday.

Hubby and I took a walk at Sholom Park while we were out running errands.

It was a glorious day, in the mid 70s.

Many of the trees looked like Autumn and I think these are some of the prettiest photos I’ve taken in a long time. (most of these have not been altered or even cropped)

And then a nice couple stopped and offered to take a photo of the two of us.

So we smiled for the camera.

January Note Card Party

I went back to January of last year to find photos I had posted a year ago, to kind of mix it up this time.

And I added verses to each one.

Florida Mosaic

Subtitled : What a difference a ‘crop’ can make.

The mosaic features the uncropped photos.

Do you ‘crop’?

Just a little crop and then maybe some sharpening and your photo can take on an altogether different look. So now, I’ll take all of the photos in the mosaic and crop them.

My hubby may like this one but I liked it better after it was cropped.

I could title it, Don’t bother me, I’m shell seeking!

And could you see this gyrocopter in the ‘uncropped’ sky

or the tortoise’s eye?

How about the dolphin in the water

or the pelicans flying low over the ocean?

Makes you want to go fishing, doesn’t it?

Photo Challenge–Shadow Play

I’m enjoying the photo challenges each month but I have figured out what is most challenging! Finding only 1 to 3 photos to share. I have two to share but I need the two ‘shadows’ plus one more. If Donna kicks me out of the challenge, look for me in the courtyard. I’ll be ‘reading’! heehee!

When I walk behind one of our red sofas in the living room, my eyes are drawn outside to the courtyard. It’s where we have our bird feeders and the view out to the golf course is pretty.

But one morning I saw this….

and I turned and saw what was being reflected into the courtyard with all of these neat shadows.

Well, I just had to take another one a month later, when Papa’s birthday cards were on display and some nesting dolls had found a spot on a shelf.

Again….what it looked like inside.

Here’s a bigger view of the courtyard to see what the ‘eye’ sees. And any way I do the math, I’m pretty sure this puts me over the limit of 3.

A Bamboo Robe? OH MY!

It truly is luxurious!

That’s the perfect word to describe it!

Exposing an IMPOSTER

Yes, you heard me right! If I don’t, who will?

But first, thanks to everyone who wished me well these past few days. Being ill takes a lot out of you, especially when you get ‘older’ but I’m feeling better every day. I’ve taken the time to get my house in better order and read a few books. I took some time today to read a lot of my favorite blogs but I decided to just read and get a little caught up. It will take me longer to write comments but I hope you’ll understand.

Now back to the task at hand…

We looked at the live oak tree across the street and it was FULL of Cedar Waxwings.

There were hundreds of them in the trees and in the sky!

But can you spot the imposter?

Yes, he’s right there in the middle of the action!

A red red Robin! lol

One more day to stay inside for me and then can I go outside and play?

I hope everyone is staying warm and safe during this frigid weather.

I complain about my camera sometimes but then I come home from the Park with photos like these!

This one I took when we were walking. I barely slowed down, just turned and took the photo.

I love the way the Crepe Myrtle trees are turning orange in the background.

(and yes, it’s still green in January here in Florida and my little camera is an Canon S100)

How are you faring with this latest storm?

It’s not our ‘Beary Best Day’!

We fluffed up the purple pillows on my bed to take it easy today.

Baby Bear and I don’t feel ‘beary’ good!

And it’s actually nice not to have a bright sunny day today but clouds and a few sprinkles with nice temps.

 

I shouldn’t complain, I have a nice stack of library books and we bought groceries and even walked at the park just before I started feeling bad.

I’m sipping citrus and spice tea from my new tea cup (thanks Ruth!!!) and snacking on cinnamon toast.

I even have this new pillow to look at from my bed if I need to rest. (found at Hospice Thrift Store)

Isn’t it perfect?

I’ll visit as soon as I feel a little better.

I’m writing this on Thursday to publish on Friday so I am SURE I am all better now!

Rainbow Clouds

We drove home from the beach on Christmas day at sundown.

It was a glorious sky and we saw a rainbow cloud.

And then the ranch that I love came into view and I took another quick photo through the windshield.

Here’s a photo of the ranch last Spring. I always think of my blog buddy at The Run *A* Round Ranch Report when I see a beautiful gate like this….here in Florida!

We listened to Christmas music on the drive home and saw rainbow clouds. We waded in the Atlantic Ocean and marveled at the beauty, picked up seashells on the beach AND I found a 1976 penny in the sand!

We saw dozens of pelicans and shore birds, 1 eagle, 2 manatees, an osprey, about 100 Sandhill cranes and some Emus (in a field on the way home).

Here’s hoping we have lots of rainbow clouds and special moments in the year to come…along with adventure and amazing sights!
