Ribbett…Ribbett!

How about this Southern Leopard Frog!

I photographed 3 of them but there were others I could hear but not see.

They had a deep throated ‘croak’!

Not really a ribbett at all! lol

They were very colorful and had leopard markings on their legs.

Something neat to see at Sholom Park this week!

And since I need to get a bird photo in here…

how about these Common Moorhens?

What was not common about these were the little baby Moorhen swimming along with them.

I had to crop the photo to really get a good look.

Babies are SO sweet! The Moorhens were at Blue Run Park in Dunnellon with all the turtles.

Vintage Airplanes, the 1941 Boeing A75N1(PT17)

We see a lot of small planes flying in this area which is very cool.

And one day when we drove past the Airport, we saw this Biplane getting ready to taxi down the runway!

Hubby pulled over across the street and I jumped out with my camera!

TAKE OFF!!!

Here it COMES!!!

And right over my head it flew!

Such a beautiful sky!

And a neat sight to see.

I’m thankful for anything vintage that’s stood the test of time.

How about a Sunday Drive?

Maybe we can get some ‘award winning’ photos!

Well I KNOW I saw some award winning sights!

We drove the backroads looking for something that we didn’t exactly find!

So it turned into a fun ‘unexpected’ adventure!

What we DID find was peanuts growing as far as the eye could see.

And we stopped at a gate and got out for photos and could see all the way to the Gulf Coast!

I’m still amazed living here in Florida that we can be so close to the Gulf Coast AND the Atlantic! (as the crow flies!)

We’ve had enough rain so far this summer to keep the fields a deep summer shade of green.

You just never know what you’ll see when you get out on the backroads. We saw an eagle too but didn’t get any photos of it. That didn’t take away the excitement of the experience though!

As you can tell….I liked all of my photos AND all of my mosaics!

A Neighborhood Walk at Sunset

I don’t walk as much in my neighborhood in the summer months. The asphalt street absorbs the heat all day long and even in the evenings it can still be HOT!

But I like to walk around the block to the little pond.

You never know what you’ll see!

Baby ducks!

And Papa coming along to lead the way!

So precious!

A little ‘fuzzy’ because of the twilight but still fun to see.

Isn’t this tree beautiful in full bloom?

And then on the way home, a rainbow appears through the trees!

It just doesn’t get any better than that.

And it makes you SO glad you walked with a camera hanging around your neck!

Time Out for some online shopping!

Summertime can mean more time inside for us in Florida! I managed to get in 5 hikes in the month of June which was pretty remarkable considering how hot it’s been. But I got out early and just accepted the fact that I would sweat! lol

I had the BEST experience buying my favorite makeup online directly from the manufacturer. They had a good sale, offered a free gift, free shipping and I was ‘in need’! I get their sale updates in my emails.

This is the only makeup I’ve worn for the past several years.

It goes on great and keeps my face dry and protected from the sun! I use a lighter shade (applied with a small brush)  under my eyes  and medium beige for the rest of my face.

They sent some new foundation samples to try as a little gift. And don’t you love the packaging? It even came in a box (instead of a padded envelope as I had expected). I opened it and felt happy…like I was opening a present.

I bought a silver bracelet awhile back and put the La Rose 1938 Spoon Ring in my favs!

One day I decided to ‘treat’ myself and I ordered it! She is a special lady and even sent me a gift which I will treasure.

She packs the jewelry in little tins and always includes a nice note.

(now you can SEE the 2 rings and my bracelet!)

I put my new jewelry in the rose soap dish on my dresser.
