It’s easy for me to stop here and take a brisk walk when I’m out and about.
But since we are all so busy this week…
we’ll just plug in the photos without editing…
just so that we can get outside…
and WALK!

It has been so mild here this month that it seems like everyone has decorated more than usual.

We’ve had highs in the 70s and 80s this week.
Which even seems WARM for US!!!
But don’t the houses look festive!
And I always think of Vee when I see something like this. When we were getting to know each other, she told me she always imagined people in Florida had alligators wandering through their front yards! Of course…she’s RIGHT! hahaha!
(this is 3 houses down from us though and NOT in our yard! lol)
And now we’re back to the ‘lavender cottage’.
Don’t you love the big old fashioned bulbs?
Hubby did a little more this year too. (thanks hubby!)
And I love the wreaths on the lamps of our garage!

I like to use this one for my coffee …
and this one for tea!
I know there are some special teas at this time of year. Have you tried any that you would recommend?
And I found this little bowl at the thrift store and thought it was perfect for my afternoon snack.
I like to have a small portion of yogurt with fruit (strawberries from the Farmer’s Mkt) on top most afternoons and I think it taste better now!
And aren’t these coasters cute?

I think this is the best week of the holiday season!
All of the important things have been taken care of by now and most of us can relax and enjoy our homes and family if they are close by.
I love having my house decorated and every room has extra twinkly lights, lamps and candles.
And it’s fun to find Christmas cards in the mail every day.
Such a good time to look closely at all of the things we can be thankful for.
So this is just a little walk around my house.
Stopping to look at something cute and enjoying our memories.

We were so surprised to find this BIG Katydid in our front shrubs!
Can you find him?
Hubby was doing a little trimming and spotted him before he got ‘trimmed’!
He looked like a leaf from the side!
He really was a beautiful shade of green and the biggest one we’ve ever seen.
Doesn’t he look like he has his ‘angry face’ on here?
And imagine our surprise when he was still there a couple of weeks later! Amazing!
And these photos were taken through the living room window but isn’t this little wren precious?
He’s LOUD too! heehee!

Or maybe the question should be, do I need help with MY decorating!
I love to decorate and use a mix of vintage, prim and handmade things throughout my house.
But I try to minimize the decorations in the bedroom. So this year I added a little Christmas pillow to my bed…
and placed a crystal bowl filled with pink balls on my table…
and put the snowglobes on my dresser…
both of them.
It looked perfect. But then…
another day I hung my Christmas stocking on my nightstand.
So does it look complete now?
I guess not. When I came home from shopping, I found out the ‘elves’ had been busy adding decorations.
Well, at least it was clean!
