I love these beautiful soft colors, don’t you?

Do you love to sew? (I DO!!!)

Have you made a quilt? (I’m going to TRY!!!)

My thoughts and prayers are for everyone experiencing the hurricane today! We live all the way on the Western end of NC in the mountains so we are not being affected! But thanks for those that have written with concerns! Hugs to you all!

Don't challenge yourself to too hard of a quilt. I started out and made quite a few with just little patchwork squares. And they remain my favorites!

Hello Diane! I just wanted to check if you were ok, since I heard on the news that NC has been struck by the hurricane.
Take care!

Congratulations on winning! Awesome. Love the materials your friend sent in the soft colors. Beautiful. They would make a lovely qilt. I want to try one of these days.

I can't wait to see what you make with those gorgeous fabrics! I'm glad to hear you are safe from the hurricane, I'm anxious for my family on the coast of CT.
Thanks for the link to yesterday's post- I'm glad you are enjoying Oliver Wiswell, it's a new perspective for me to read about the war from a loyalist point of view. I'll be sad when I'm finished with it!

How wonderful! I can't wait to see progress on your quilt. I've been wanting to learn how to quilt for a couple of years now. Not sure where to start. I love Moda :)

Congratulations on the win! I keep entering and crossing my fingers too! I've made little mini-quilts but never a big one. I don't like the "quilting" part of it and would have to pay someone to finish it.

It will be fun to see what kind of quilt you make with those beautiful fabrics!

The Moda prints will make a wonderful quilt. I had one quilt top made but unpicked the borders today and will end up with two lap quilts instead. Happy quilting!

Diane, those soft colours will make a great quilt for Florida. A shop owner in Ellenton, FL told me once that quilters in Florida went for brights and pastels much more often than Northerners, who seemed to like darker colours. I found it interesting, but I could see why. I never 'got' why people would retire to Florida and then decorate their winter home exactly like their northern home. :) Wanda in Edmonton (who is planning to have a southern winter home one day in the not too distant future)

I can't sew, but Shanley made a pretty quilt for her dorm room. DId you see it? It is folded at the foot of her bed.

The colors in the fabrics are so pretty!

The soft pastel colors are so sweet. I like piecing quilts but handquilting the layers together takes so long. It's worth it though. I still love the mini quilts.
