The Leaves are back ON the tree!

We traveled back to Florida to enjoy the warm temps of a Florida Fall!

Our first outing was Sunday afternoon.

The weather was fabulous….79 degrees with low humidity and a light breeze.

So we took a 2 hour hike in the Ross Prairie State Forest.

I found a website here to plan more hikes.

There’s so much to do here year round!

And we enjoyed being out in nature.

We saw lots of wildflowers and berries on the vines.

I’ll share a few other ‘sightings’ later in the week!

I remember the first time entering Florida. Living in NW Wisconsin, it was like visiting a different planet. Beautiful photos, Diane.

You are lucky having nice warm weather to walk in. We had our coldest overnight temperatures so far this season. Snow is in communities to the north of us but hasn't reached us yet.

I have never been to Florida. I know these things about the sunshine state: sandy beaches, Disney World, Everglades, mossy swamps, and hurricanes. Just as many probably vision Colorado as one big ski resort. So I am learning about your home. Your photos are wonderful.

We've got the furnace going here and there you are in shorts and a t-top, LOL. Yes, you ought to take advantage of your mild weather and opportunities to get out. It looks like a nice trail.

And look at the backlighting on that plant in the last photo! You won't have a bit of trouble in the next photo challenge topic.

Our leaves have almost all dropped and I'm bored with the bare trees already. One day I'll escape to Florida. Beautiful post! Enjoy your day...

What a fun thing to do! I'll be thinking of you as winter settles in on us. We received about a half inch of snow, but it's supposed to be up to 53 by Wednesday. Crazy weather.

So many pretty things to see while hiking. Your winters are easier to handle than ours:):) We did get a 1/2 inch of snow...so now I am ready for Spring :):) Enjoy your day sweet friend, xoxo,Susie

You will be glad you're back in Florida when most of us are talking about snow and cold temps. We haven't had too much cold weather yet, but it's on the way! And, yes, I'm about ready to take down the fall decor and put up Christmas. Have a nice day!

you do get the best of both worlds. :)

What a lovely place. It reminds me of a long time ago when I left Princeton, NJ in the midst of winter and arrived in San Diego, CA. Now I live in the mountains and can't wait for the first snow to fall.

Oh, I love that moss. I need to get out and go on a nice hike.

It was pretty cold here today in Chicago - 25 degrees and a dusting of snow.

It looks so nice there Diane. I would enjoy some sunshine and heat for a few days even. It's nice to find new places to hike in nature. Have a great week!

I always enjoy stopping by your blog, especially when you are in FL and I can feel a bit homesick! Fall and spring were my favorite times of year there with the perfect temps and humidity levels. Wonderful pictures, Diane. Ann

I would move to Florida in a heart beat. We have way below normal temperatures today and 15 minutes of heavy flurries coming down... in TN!! I might just have to move to warmer temps

Looks like paradise! I've never been in Florida except in summer months...one of these days, that's going to change! :)

So many beautiful sights along the way. The hiking guide sounds like it will come in very handy this winter, since your temps stay nice through pretty much the whole season.

Lucky you ..It's one of my favourite place…I used to live in Daytona and truly miss the lichen dripping from the giant trees and the warm moist smell of the air… not to mention the ocean ..We're experiencing snow here so I'm envying your in your shorts and dreaming that I'm walking the sunlit paths … Thanks for the memories…hugs

Your pictures are so bright and sunny for our cold weather. Just a few days ago I was enjoying the Spanish moss in Louisiana and today it's winter coat and gloves.

While I have been to Florida once many years ago, I actually prefer cooler climates, Diane. But, getting out for a hike in weather that is as lovely as you described is indeed wonderful. Flurries and frost this week on the VA eastern shore and 70s by the weekend!
