I find a lot of fun things at the thrift stores here in Florida. And every once in awhile I hit the jackpot.
Which to me, means I find something on my ‘wish list’!
I love quilts and always search Etsy for redwork embroidery quilts.
My eyes lit up when I found this crib quilt at Hospice Thrift Store.
But what could be better than a redwork crib quilt?
Another one the size of a lap quilt.
I almost felt like…that’s it….it won’t get any better than this!
But of course I’ll keep ‘hunting for treasures’.
I’m joining Thrifty Things Friday!

Do you have something that stays on your wish list, something you always look for?

The Redwork quilts are absolutely gorgeous.. A very great find indeed.. I like finding 100% clothes so I can recycle them into my art.. Hugs Judy
Such a gorgeous thrift store fine.
I like those Redwork quilts. Great find for you!!
That is a lovely quilt!
Oh my goodness!! Beautiful! I can't imagine ever finding anything that nice at a thrift store! Lucky you!
I have heard several bloggers mention having vintage wish lists and never really thought about it. I guess I don't have one. I think, for me, it is finding that perfect thing that I didn't even know I wanted until I found it.
How do you spell "THAT JUST TOOK MY BREATH AWAY"??
Girlfriend, A Redwork quilt!!!
You definitely did hit the jackpot.
I have always wanted to make one of those, and if I ever do, it will look like this! A RED ROOSTER!!
I love it!
Oh! You were so lucky!
Smiles,Dottie
That is one lucky score. The quilts are beautiful.
Beautiful quilts. They look like they are in very good condition.
Lovely finds!!
These are the cutest things ever! Love them and lucky you to find both!! Thanks for sharing the ultimate in thrift finds at TTF!
Oh! Wow! You blessed, blessed gal! That is a beauty. It doesn't appear to be vintage so is in great condition. Love the fabric and all the embroideries.
Red work is one of my favorites too! Great find, Sis, XOXO
Wow! How wonderful! Ever wonder if a special find like that was not luck but meant to be?? Intriguing thought.

That was an amazing find! How wonderful. I am always looking for French confit pots that I can afford.
Great find. I love the little squares.
Oh, my, you DID hit the jackpot! The quilts are gorgeous...love the redwork, too!!! I'm always looking for jade-ite. Maybe I'll have your luck one day!
Good Evening Diane, Oh my word, how exciting, you must have been over the moon to find such lovely treasures. I cannot imagine how anyone could part with the quilts. I adore redwork, I love the simplicity of the embroidery stitches, but when the blocks are stitched together they look amazing.
Enjoy your fabulous treasures.
Best Wishes
Daphne

Oh my gosh lady! I do redwork and know the hours that have went into those quilts. Amazing to find not only one, but two!!! Always on the lookout for transferware. Just scored some. Lucky gals are we! Hee-hee! Hope over from Thrifty Things Friday, but happy to see that you linked it to SYC.
hugs,
Jann
AH what a treasure! It always amazes me when things like this are not kept in the families as precious heirlooms but then again the ones like you that DO end up with them appreciate them and the maker of them much more than whomever discarded it.
Just lovely!
You did hit the mother load. Those quilts are absolutely beautiful! Love them.
Oh my goodness, I love the redwork. I wish I could find things like this, I just need a good thrift store. Lucky you, enjoy

Wow, I'd say you hit the jack pot. Who would donate such a beautiful quilt? It is wonderful. I don't really have a wish list--when I see that something, I know it. hehehe
I'm so glad for you!! But don't you just wonder sometimes how some things end up at a thrift store! I've found handknit baby sweaters that should be family heirlooms - lying for sale at a thrift store. Makes me sad.
How wonderful! So glad you rescued this lovely needlework, it always makes me sad to see "some poor lady's" needlework in a thrift store, as I've written about many times on my blog. I'm always looking for Pyrex & other vintage kitchen glass. That's my thing. -Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
-this would be most welcome at my We Call It Olde Link Up, Tues-Saturdays :)
I'm so happy for you. What a wonderful quilt that definitely needed a good rescuing.
I LOVE redwork. Don't have any, but I so admire it.
Brenda

Great finds!! I love red work on quilts. I found a queen size quilt at our local Goodwill for $9.00 a few months ago.

Cindy
Congratulations!
It's beautiful.
Beautiful find! I look for vintage red and white crocheted potholders and old wooden cheese boxes at flea markets. At thrift shops, usually I'm looking for books, among other things. I've scored 3 of Susan Branch's books in the last year or so.
Oh, my!
What an amazing find. I am so envious.
love the finds. I always look for majolica and weiss jewelry thanks for sharing following from thrifty groove hop. I'm lorraine at http://lorrainesresources.blogspot.com
Oh WOW! That is so great! I am a huge fan of sunbonnet kids and squirrels and chickens too! Love it! You hit the jackpot! Maggie

What a wonderful find Diane, love red work! Deb
I also enjoy shopping in thrift stores, but never have something I am really looking for so it's a surprise to find something.
What a great find! I am so jealous of the thrift stores in your area. Ours are the pits. There was a LOT of work that went into that rework lap quilt, and it looks beautiful!
Isn't this quilt sweet? My sister sews quilts, and I have always thought it was such a talent. I especially love the color Red, so this made me smile.
Have a blessed Sunday.
Love,
~Sheri
