I didn’t know HOW hard that would be to spell
WRONG! heehee!
But that’s where we were according to the song,
which is the state song of Florida!
(I was surprised to read the words to the song
and will have to admit it will not be a favorite of mine!)
But we DID go to Manatee Springs at the Suwannee River!
We aren’t having Mosaic Monday this week
but I still made a mosaic!
The fish were amazing to see....
Have you ever seen the Suwannee River or a Manatee?
We didn’t spot one here but my husband and I saw one
on the Gulf Coast in the wild earlier this Spring!
It was EXCITING!
Hope you enjoy your Monday!

Yes, but it's been a long time. I love old Florida and the back roads.
Thanks for the memories~KarenSue
Hi LD, beautiful pictures. I hope your easter was a lovely one.

Hello Diane! Happy Easter! I'm sure you had a great time in the Swanee Ribber (hahaha!)I love the lush greenery, the water and of course the alive fishes! They are pieces of heaven's nature on earth. The place is my ideal vacation place.
What lovely photos. I can't wait to get the girls near water again and fishing poles ready for a little action. Happy Monday!
Lovely post. Foster also wrote "My Old Kentucky Home" after visiting cousins in Bardstown. That's where my dad lived before he died.
I visited the Swanee Ribber as a kid on a family vacation...so that's been a loooong time ago. Love your beautiful pictures!!!
I hadn't realized all the use of dialect before until seeing that music. Hmmm... Kinda fun and I had no idea that the Swanee Ribber was the Suwannee River. I'm learning a lot today. (This was always great fun to sing in music class. I loved it!)
What a CUTE mosaic, I'm glad you made it and shared, I just love seeing the great outdoors here in Florida.
Now, I do have some good news for you! It never should have taken SO long, but in 2008, the Florida Legislature designated a revised version of the lyrics be the official version.
We once saw a manatee in Naples in Florida -- an overiding happy memory of a perfect holiday.
Kindest Regards Linda
I love manatee's! My children adopted one back in the day and we got photos. I always wanted to go visit and see on in person. hugs, Linda
So fun! As a child we went often to Heart Springs...do you know where that is? Love the song, brings back many GREAT memories!
I never noticed the words before :) funny. Gorgeous shots, so pretty where you are!
Too funny! Your photos make me want to jump right in. Haven't seen the Suwannee River or a manatee...I've been missing a lot:)
The pictures are great but I especially like the one of the water and fish!!I also wanted you to know that I have hit a milestone on my blog and am having a giveaway of our all natural organic products. Hope you will enter.
Love your photos!! I have seen a Manatee, but it was at the aquarium.
Have a great week.

You may have spelled it wrong but you could not have taken pictures more right, or beautiful! Wow! Amazing! I'd love to be sailing down that river!
Your pics are awesome Diane! It would have been great to have seen a manatee and gotten a picture. you had such a beautiful day with all that sun, it's been raining here all except for saturday and part of sunday, been cooler too. Have a beautiful week! hugs, Jennifer

I have seen a manatee in Florida too!
They are very wonderful.

These pictures are amazing Diane, and no, I have not seen either..the river or manatee. It's interesting to note how clear is the water :) Happy week ahead Diane and missing you a lot. I may try to stay off blog land but blog land is always haunting me haha!
lovely photos again and interesting facts, answering your question, no to either the river or fish.
It looks like a beautiful place! I've heard the manatees are so gentle.
These are great pictures, thanks for sharing:)
your photos are beautiful, you're very talented,,the water shots are amazing,,
I just love your mosaic! What beautiful pictures...
Blessings, Debbie
When we drove past the Suwannee River 2 years ago, I said, "Wow, that's from the song!" I started singing it and got so excited!
And the same year, we drove past the Chatahoochee (Alan Jackson's song) and also the one from that song from the 60s about how Billy Joe McAllister jumped off the Tallahatchee Bridge....What a river year, huh? lol

I really envy you living in Florida. I just love the flora and fauna! Lucky you to see a manatee. We did see the huge crocodile on Sanibel Island about 17 years ago. They told us last year that it is still around, but kind of shy.
I have seen neither, but I hope to one day! I remember so many of these old songs from their use in movies. I was singing "I've been Working On the Railroad" to my grandson last week...lol!
We have seen Manatee's, so cool Diane! What beautiful shots. I never knew that was the State song.
Stunning photos!
Almost like I could reach out and touch the fish!!
How fun! I have seen a Manatee a lot of them all together, it was amazing.
Its so nice that you get out and explore whats around you.
Have a sweet day and hugs, Elizabeth
