A Quilt Barn in the mountains

This is another barn located in the mountains of Western NC near Bluff mountain.

It’s one of my favorite parts of the country and we still own some land near this old barn.

Hey girl, you have Florida's nice weather and today...we do too. It's suppose to be 70 degrees here in central Indiana. A new record for us. I love the bright pop of color on the old barn side. It's beautiful. xo, Susie

I've never know where the tradition of barn quilts came from but they are so neat. What a surprise it must be to come around the corner and see one of those. :)

Traveling through Pennsylvania and the South, I loved seeing the quilt barns; a lovely part of Americana. Wish we had your sunshine--enjoy your week, XOXO

Beautiful barn. Is that quilt painted on the side of that barn? I do watercolors and painting barns has always been my favorite subject.

Enjoy the warm weather.

I cannot imagine doing that Mariner's Compass for a quilt barn. I love the barn, but boy that quilt square will be one of my favorites for all time.

I really enjoy seeing these quilt barns. We don't have them in Texas - or at least the area of the state I live in. This one is a charmer for sure.

What a beautiful quilt block! I love the vibrant colors. I also like the way the natural barn wood colors add emphasis to the quilt block.

Okay, I admit it, I like a barn more when it has a really pretty quilt square on it. Love that one.

Barn quilts are very popular here in Iowa, too. Love spotting them when we travel.

What a beautiful quilt barn! I've seen such wonderful pictures, and hope to see some in real life, someday. The pictures you take in NC are always so lovely. If I lived there I don't think I'd ever leave.

Love the way some of the mountain states(I'm in KY)celebrate the quilting heritage in our area with these barn quilts. So good for people driving through our states to be surprised with them. This pattern is not one I'm familiar with--know what it is?

Enjoy your time in Florida--most of my retired friends want to be there if they could convince husbands. :-)

My letter to Santa this year is going to ask for me to see a quilt barn and photograph it. I have seen a few way back from the road when my husband was driving, but could not shoot them. This is a beauty. Great find.genie
