We went to a delightful presentation of ‘The Snow Queen’ at Sholom Park today!
It was a gorgeous day (a little overcast but in the 70s) and the actors gave their best performance.
It was fun to meet them and get some autographs!
I even got to hold the robber’s sword!
I love all of the books by this author and have a small collection of them that I bought at a thrift store (you knew I was going to say that, didn’t you?)
Have you ever read this book? It’s delightful!
I’m joining Mary for Mosaic Monday
and Diane for Beautiful Sunday
and Sunny Simple Sunday !

what a special day Diane, I miss living in towns where events like this take place. Oh I love living in the boonies at the lake and prefer that, but sometimes I would like to see things

Ah, weather in the 70's. Sounds so good. Taste of winter today, here in Iowa. Wind chills tonight are suppose to be in the single digit.BRRRRR. Just not ready for winter.
Oh, how delightful! I love Hans Christian Anderson stories but this is one I've never read! You look so cute and happy! ;)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Soo glad you had a great time.

Looks like so much fun.
I guess I've been living under a rock because I've never heard of the book, LOL. It looks like a neat thing, to attend a play out in the park!
How fun! I love his fairytales and when we were kids we had a set of books with the 3-D covers (so new back then)!
What a gorgeous setting for an outdoor performance! I keep forgetting to tell you that I love your Christmas header...adorable! Now I can add that I love your PJ picture too!!
Karen
so glad that you had a fun time..
happy sunday x
There's something poetic about seeing the Snow Queen in 70-degree weather!! Great story and I'm sure the play was just wonderful. XOXO
That looks like such a good time! I don't think I've read the Snow Queen but I will!

I'm a lover of fairy tales and think that at one time or another I've read all of Hans Christian Andersen's stories but have none of his books. How lucky for you to have found so many and at a thrift store at that. :0)
That looks so fun Diane! Never heard of it. Looks like you are enjoying the festive holiday season.
This is my dream . . . to celebrate Christmas where it's WARM! LOL - what an absolutely delightful way to spend the day! You look adorable in the picture :)
Were they able to make you think it was winter and cold? I don't know if I've read "The Snow Queen."
I never tried watching a play outdoors. The experience is surely the best. Meeting other people while enjoying the performances.
Btw, I love your photo in re pajamas. You look so merry and happy :)
Have a great week namemate!
I love that book and have watched two or three renditions of the movie- xo Diana
Hi Diane
I'm glad you're toughing it out in that heat while I'm freezing up here. :-)
What a neat idea to have a play outside like that, thanks for sharing it.
Judith
Love your header, btw, it makes me smile and bounce a bit as I walk out...
I don't think I am familiar with this story, but the costumes are wonderful. Looks like it was a great time!
I am not familiar with this story, but it looks like you had a marvellous time. Have a great week:)
I've never read the book, Diane. It sure looks like you had a great day. You have the most fun!!
I can't say that I have ever read that collection of books - but it looks like it was a great day and performance!
Looks like you had a nice time Diane. I love your header.

Looks like you had a great time. We have a live theater in a park need here in the summer months.

What a lovely place to watch a play. So nice that the weather was warm and you had a great time. Wonderful photos. Have a great week ahead.
What a fun day you had! Makes for a great memory of the holidays!
I've never read that book... oh my, now you have me on a mission. Sounds like it would be wonderful at this time of year.
I remember reading some of those to my children. I am familiar with most of them but what fun to see it interpreted in a play. Merry Christmas to you and all your loved ones.

I don't think I have ever read this book - I might have to look out for it. Perhaps stories about snow don't do well here in hot summer Australia. LOL. Looks like you had a lovely day.
Have a wonderful week. I am linking up to you through Mosaic Monday.
I have not read the Snow Queen. It would be hard to think snow on a warm day like this in NC--even muggy. Probably just like where you are. It looks like it was a fun day!
Activities like this make the season special. :D What a nice day!!!
xo,
RJ
Absolutely my idea of the only kind of 'snow' I want to experience during the Christmas season. Looks like a wonderful family event and your photos sparkle with the spirit of the season.
