“The Snow Queen” by Hans Christian Andersen

We went to a delightful presentation of ‘The Snow Queen’ at Sholom Park today!

PicMonkey Collage

It was a gorgeous day (a little overcast but in the 70s) and the actors gave their best performance.

It was fun to meet them and get some autographs!

I even got to hold the robber’s sword!

I love all of the books by this author and have a small collection of them that I bought at a thrift store (you knew I was going to say that, didn’t you?)

Have you ever read this book? It’s delightful!

what a special day Diane, I miss living in towns where events like this take place. Oh I love living in the boonies at the lake and prefer that, but sometimes I would like to see things

I guess I've been living under a rock because I've never heard of the book, LOL. It looks like a neat thing, to attend a play out in the park!

How fun! I love his fairytales and when we were kids we had a set of books with the 3-D covers (so new back then)!

There's something poetic about seeing the Snow Queen in 70-degree weather!! Great story and I'm sure the play was just wonderful. XOXO

I'm a lover of fairy tales and think that at one time or another I've read all of Hans Christian Andersen's stories but have none of his books. How lucky for you to have found so many and at a thrift store at that. :0)

This is my dream . . . to celebrate Christmas where it's WARM! LOL - what an absolutely delightful way to spend the day! You look adorable in the picture :)

Were they able to make you think it was winter and cold? I don't know if I've read "The Snow Queen."

I never tried watching a play outdoors. The experience is surely the best. Meeting other people while enjoying the performances.

Btw, I love your photo in re pajamas. You look so merry and happy :)

Have a great week namemate!

Hi Diane
I'm glad you're toughing it out in that heat while I'm freezing up here. :-)
What a neat idea to have a play outside like that, thanks for sharing it.

I remember reading some of those to my children. I am familiar with most of them but what fun to see it interpreted in a play. Merry Christmas to you and all your loved ones.

I don't think I have ever read this book - I might have to look out for it. Perhaps stories about snow don't do well here in hot summer Australia. LOL. Looks like you had a lovely day.
Have a wonderful week. I am linking up to you through Mosaic Monday.

I have not read the Snow Queen. It would be hard to think snow on a warm day like this in NC--even muggy. Probably just like where you are. It looks like it was a fun day!

Absolutely my idea of the only kind of 'snow' I want to experience during the Christmas season. Looks like a wonderful family event and your photos sparkle with the spirit of the season.
