I like clothes…lots of clothes…CUTE clothes!
When I was growing up my mother called me a ‘clothes horse’!
I have always enjoying looking through the clearance racks and buying things at the end of the season for really good, discounted prices.
But I NEVER thought I would buy my clothes at the Thrift Store! (I hope that doesn’t sound snooty! lol)
The Hospice Thrift store goes through each item of clothing and doesn’t put anything out that is worn or has a stain. They donate ‘worn’ clothing to a local church. (this black shirt was brand new!)
So it’s much more fun to look through clothing that is in great shape at amazing prices. Here in Florida we dress very casual….tee shirts and shorts or capris and sandals are the order of the day. Add some pretty jewelry to dress things up.
And the prices? Most of the tee shirts are $1.50. You just can’t beat that! Well, except that I get a discount for being a frequent shopper!
I look for brand names (I like Talbots, Chicos, J Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and my favorite…Carribean Joe) and I usually try things on. (sometimes sizes can be tricky!) I tried on this top and skirt together and paid $3.50 for BOTH!
I thought of Linda at A La Carte when I found this top. She’s traveling to Paris in a few days! I have the top, Linda…can I come, too?
I’m joining Thrifty Things Friday!
Also Katherine’s Corner,
and Jann for Share Your Cup !
(for lounging around the house)
I think it’s fun to add new things to my wardrobe and keep my closet updated by donating clothing that I don’t like any more or doesn’t fit quite right. It’s all about comfort and feeling good….and being ‘cute’ at any age…don’t you think?

You are always dressed so cute!! I love all your 'new' shirts and yes put that Paris shirt on and join me!!! I have shopped thrift stores for clothes and I agree you can't beat the prices. I too find items still with tags on them and brand names hardly worn. Oh and I agree...cute at any age and that's us!!
Thanks for sharing at TTF!
hugs,
Linda
Oh, my goodness! I love your style! I LOVE the Paris shirt- so fun!!!! Love the lounging outfit!
I am the same way- I never thought about clothes from a Thrift Store, especially shoes, until I scored a pair of Birkenstocks, not worn, for $7. My feet say, "THANK YOU!" Being a teacher, cute clothes are needed too, and with school, clothes can get stained as easily as one science experiment gone wrong!
My biggest struggle with the whole thrift store clothing experience is such a visual overload. It is hard for me to pick through it. Stores here started organizing by color and size! That is a huge help!
Enjoy your finds, dear!!!!! Awesome!
Love and hugs!
Heather
Oh, those are cute clothes! Good for you! I wear lots of clothes from the thrift store. I love the variety there! Have a great day! Twyla
Great deals! It's hard to go back to retail after you've seen thrift prices!
I wish I could live in shorts or capris and tee shirts all year around, Diane. Life would be so easy. And I would shop at thrift stores too. I have in the past and have found some great deals. Enjoy the day! Pam
i detest clothes shopping. :)
Some fabulous finds!
You have found some amazing clothes! I love the London tee and matching skirt
Aren' t you so blessed to live in Florida to wear shorts and tees all year!
Aww those are truly so sweet and I love them all so much.
Big hugs x
I would wear all of these. Love them. A friend of mine told me about a great Goodwill store that I want to go to. I just refuse to pay full price for anything. Clothing has such a huge markup. Yeah for you.
Cute clothes! and great prices! Love the red checked for lounging around the house. So cute.
I just popped over from CJ Stitching and Blooms and gosh am I happy I did! I love your blog and well, your clothes. You are very lucky to have such a great thrift store my friend! I live in New Hampshire and let's just say the thrift stores are not of your caliber *sigh* I really love all the things you got but especially those seersucker lounging outfit... how darn cute can you get?! I am your newest follower and look forward to a budding blogging friendship!:D
Hugs,
Beth P
Please pop by my blog to say hi when you get the chance.
You can get some amazing deals at thrift stores and second hand stores. We have a couple of secondhand clothing stores that advertise "from the best closets in town"
I agree you are always dressed so cute and I am always impressed with the awesome deals you get!! I am having a Loretta Fontain Jewelry giveaway it's a necklace valued at $120.00 and would love for you to enter.
You found some really cute things, Diane. I never seem to have much luck in the clothing dept. at the thrift shop. Probably because the one I go to doesn't separate them by size and I usually don't have the patience to look through them all.
I'm your newest follower!! Carrie, www.amothersshadow.com
Oh, those little checks are adorable, Diane!! You always look so cute anyway! You found some good buys,
hugs,
Dorothy
I do the same thing buy clothes at thrift stores and then go to Dillard s or Macy's in St Louis and spend $100 for a blouse or $200 for an top& bottom !!!!
I even went to a resale shop and spent $900 on a LV purse !!!!!!!OMG I let the cat out of the bag now LOl
your tops are all really good and those red & white pajamas are adorable
That doesn't sound snooty at all, I know exactly what you mean! You found some great things and definitely can not beat those prices!
~Trisha
Diane...you found some great deals. I just recently purchased some shirts at our local thrift shop and they were name brands. I paid $3.00 for each one and if I had gotten them from the brand store...they would of cost $40 to $50 each.
hugs,
Cindy
Yes I like being cute at any age too.
Adorable finds.
Love the gingham lounge set.
Darling!
Woolie Blessings Friend :)
I love the check outfit!!... but Cute has just never been me. You wear it well :-)
Charity shopping is a nifty way to save money and do some good deed Diane, I agree!
All the best Dear,
I adore shopping for clothes at thrift stores!!! Who would of ever guessed!!!
Smiles, Dottie
I agree 100% Diane, except in your case you're not cute...you're ADORABLE!
If I lived in a warm climate (I'm in NY), I would totally dress exactly like that ALL THE TIME. My idea of dressing up would be wearing underwear. :/
Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comment.
I know....You are beautiful !!
It looks like you had way too much fun buying that stuff. I hope you did a happy dance with those prices. I truly hate shopping for clothes. I would rather clean the toilet.
I know in the pictures of you that you always have really cute clothes. You have found a great outlet there, Diane, and made some really cute choices- LOVE the Paris shirt-xo Diana
You found really cute clothes. My daughter shops ARC and Good Will for her daughters. For school they wear uniforms, so she can find really cute everyday clothes for them at good prices.
Goodness, i never thought I would be my clothes at thrift stores either, but it just get in your blood! I always scan the rack for Chicos clothes.. I love to buy chicos pants and make them into shorts. Heck I get them for $2 instead of $64 and you are so right, T shirts shorts and flip flops LOL!
Carol
I love Carribean Joe too, we have a great Hospice shop nearby. I love you frilly tie dye shirt!!
Cute, cute, CUTE :) From your photos I can tell you are always dressed nicely. Hugs!
Nothing wrong with buy your clothes at all at a thrift shop.. Looks like you got you some pretty cute tops my friend.
Hugs~
My daughter finds things at the Goodwill store here that are brand new for $5...and then she has sold some on Ebay for $50. Seriously! She loves Goodwill!
Cute is right!
Excellent prices too.
Love the Paris blouse, such gorgeous colors.
The last outfit is adorable.
Have a good one:)
Wish we had such a nice thrift store. I have to carefully look at each piece and try it on to see that it isn't stretched out, shrunk, etc.
Deb
I felt that way about thrift stores for a LONG time but now I love them too.
You did find some groovy duds Diane, loved them all.
So glad I found your blog.

You find good deals and you always look so adorable! I like to shop the sale racks at Old Navy. That's my favorite store and I am hopelessly addicted to it.
I shop at the thrift stores also, I always say "name brand second hand", I get great name brand clothes at super crazy low prices!!
Diane, How lucky you have been!!! I will have to try that Thrift shop, and see if they have my size!!!! Hugs, Aunt Helen
Hi Diane, wow you can't beat those prices! The clothes you bought are perfect for Florida weather. I also love dressing casual and for comfort! Wishing you a wonderful Labor Day weekend.

Wow- I wish we had such an upscale thrift with fantastic prices near me!
What cute pieces you discovered!
i luv clothes. but don't most woman???!!! ( ;
What is better then finding clothes that have been worn in! Love thrift shop clothes! Dont need to worry about them shrinking ect! Perfect! Enjoy your night!
You found some really cute things! I'd love to be able to live in tee shirts and capris year round. We have a shop called Upscale/Resale, but lately I think they have their prices too high and the quality of the clothes isn't that great. I mainly shop there for the books and household items.
Enjoy your weekend!
I had a favorite Thrift Store near my old apartment....it was my go to place for everything from new wardrobe items to ren faire costume goodies to housewares to kids stuff....
It closed 2 years ago! It still makes me sad to think of it....haha!
I would love to visit your favorite store! You find awesome things there!
My mom sold me on Thrift Stores when I was about 20yrs old and I purchased a burgundy leather coat for $5!! We have a couple nice ones around here that I frequent and find some awesome items. It's actually fun to find something you've had in mind and end up saving lots of money to have it.
Have a great holiday weekend Sweet Lavender- Blessings, Edie Marie
I truly believe that most things in the thrift stores are there because they have shrunk. When ever I wash clothes, I do not dry stuff totally dry, I snap them smooth and hang them to finish drying. Then your clothes are less apt to shrink. So if I buy anything from the thrift shop, I get a bigger size. Hope your weekend is great. I love your swan header..the water is so much like a Monet painting. xoxo,Susie
Being comfortable is definitely key, Diane. Including shoes! :)
~Judy
I love "smart," shopping! Makes the outfits even more fun to wear! You did good!!
Sweet Hugs,
Jemma
What some great deals! For me it's all about comfort :) being cute is a bonus!
I love a thrift shop deal!! That a girl! I had to stop in and see how your doing! :) Love your choices! Sound like you enjoyed shopping!! We did get a winner for the novel! That was fun! :)
Wow what wonderful finds! That is a lovely thrift shop, and you have a good eye too for finding great things!
Helen x
I'm all for a bargain, especially when you are getting quality items- who cares where they come from? There is a business that sells clothing once a month at my daughter's university and offers popular brands and even some designer labels for fabulous prices. My daughter picked up a new Juicy velour zippered jacket for $6. That is smart shopping :)
I wish I could find a good thrift store around here..I would surely shop there. We have junk stores...not quite the same!
Have a Happy Labor Day!
You found some really cute things for such great deals Diane! I never look at clothes at thrift stores, but I really should. Don't ask me how, but I am always getting little holes in my tops. Sometimes I will see one when I have only wore it once. Not sure if it's from my belt or what. I am just hard on my clothes. I will now check out the clothing. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
Forgot to mention that I thought of Linda too when I saw that shirt. Hope you snuck into one of her bags! lol!
hugs,
Jann
So many cute clothes so little time. Love the last set for the house. Adorable.
