Let’s run to the store to get some hot dogs for the holiday weekend!
What do you mean, we’re going the wrong way?
I've been to Walmart ‘hundreds’ of time…no exaggeration!
I’m coming….I’m coming! Wait up!
Who knew there were HILLS in Florida!
Hey, I think a car stopped to give us a ride!
Wild turkeys…
seen…
on the way…
to Walmart.
I’m joining Beautiful Sunday,
and Amaze me Monday!
Where’s the mustard?
(no turkeys were eaten while making this blog post!)
Happy Labor Day!

So funny, I have never seen Turkeys in Florida! Gobble, Gobble, Di@Cottage-Wishes
You are so clever. I'll be rushing to our local grocery store after hotdogs later today. I bought supplies for making school lunches, but failed to remember the hotdogs! Have a splendid Labor day!
Cute post! Turkeys are very cool birds. Happy Labor Day!
Happy Holiday week end. I wouldn't think that I'd see turkeys in Florida. Don't know why. An alligator perhaps. Fun post.
cute series of photos and commentary, enjoy the weekend.
very cute. sure hope they're not serving turkey dogs. :)
I think the turkeys are safe for another month or two:@) Happy Labor Day Weekend-enjoy!
Hi Miss Lavender Dreams,
I'm back from camp. I didn't know there were wild turkeys in FL? Mom says we will probably see them in Asheville and Weaverville. Can't wait!

Where's Wendy?
HeHe! Great post!
You are going to be mighty busy.
Aren't wild turkeys wonderful. A couple of years ago hubby and me went fishing on the river. A flock of them flew across the water right over our boat to the other side. What an amazing sight.
I love your banner, Its lovely.

Hahaha. That's a fun post Diane. Lots of turkeys there. Do you have a big Labour Day dinner down there?
Haha! I'm glad to see Beef on that package instead of Turkey! Cute post! I just snapped a wild turkey on our Back 6 the other day. I don't think they were headed to WalMart, tho! :)
Cute post! Gotta love the thoughts that animals have.
Thank goodness you didn't go for the Turkey hot dogs! Ha ha!
This cracked me up! Turkeys are so funny!!
Those look like some big old birds. I always had a turkey carrying an "eat cheese" sign on my classroom door in November. This reminded me of that!
Ha, what a sight! Hope your "turkey free" weekend is wonderful!
Blessings,
Cindy
I love your header photo!
We have wild turkeys in our yard. They are funny birds!
Beautiful Black Swan Diane!
Happy Labor Day,
great post...lots of wild turkeys here in the northeast...I blogged about them in the snow...Aloha and enjoy the weekend!
Oh my goodness sweet friend, such memories you bring me with the Hebrew National turkey hot dogs mother used to make for us kids, specially for BBQs! You see, I'm a Newyorker...I guess you know that! There's a black swan here in a country restaurant and I love it, reminds me of that awful movie! Thank you dear Diane for your sweet and kind words for my daughter. Have a happy September month!

How fun!! I know they're so glad you were going to buy hot dogs and not turkey for sandwiches.
You're making my head swell with your compliments! ;)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I never knew there were wild turkeys in florida. We always make a turkey on the first football sunday each year. Woo-hoo!!
Great post...too cute!! Want to know something funny? We see seagulls in our Walmart parking lot all the time here in Ohio. Actually, it's not far from a small lake.
hugs,
Cindy
What fun seeing turkeys on Labor Day weekend. But I guess they know they are safe on this holiday! :)
Happy hot dogging on Monday...

That's so strange to see turkeys walking around in the neighborhood in Florida! Happy Labor day!
Turkeys on the way to Walmart! That's a mix up of two different worlds! Hope you are enjoying the holiday weekend!
Cool photos, but make mine veggie dogs!! ;<)
I LOVE your header, so beautiful.
Happy Labor Day to you, G
Your post has me smiling.. I do hope you have a happy LONG weekend..

So cute!! That was one of the surprising things to find in Florida...wild turkeys! Loved your story!
We see wild turkeys here very often! Yesterday we saw a bunch that we always see by the side of the road. there were some young ones that we have watched "grow up". Don't know why they are so close to the road when there are ample woods behind them?????? Have a great holiday Diane!
Linda
I suggest they stay clear of Wal-Mart around Thanksgiving. Haha
Have a great week!

So funny..
Gobble gobble back from Ella Elizabeth :)
If it were pioneer days, you would have ran them down with your horse and buggy.LOL So strange to see wild turkeys walking through yards. You sure got some good photos. xoxo,Susie
Loved your post! Made me giggle thinking I might have just seen a turkey or two at MY Walmart!!!
I'm not surprised, I've seen a bunch of turkeys at Walmart before. Although, these are better dressed.
That's a lot of wild turkeys! It seems they are making a come back in many communities--there was even a few that lived in Manhattan!
Thank you for your kind words of condolence, Diane. They were greatly appreciated!
Too funny! Do you think that they know that it's not all that long to Thanksgiving?
What a fun post! I've never seen turkeys running free, but we do have road runners. Happy September :)
Your too funny!!
So funny! I hope you had a great weekend!
Helen x
You are so fun, and funny! I think it's really cool how much wildlife we actually see here in Florida... indeed! right here in our own little city. Great pics!
Hilarious! Actually, we usually eat only turkey hotdogs!!
Linda
What a sight! Wild turkeys would stop traffic if we saw them in our Walmart parking lot or anywhere in town.
teehee
Had me smiling all the way through. There are certainly some gorgeous hills in your area, my friend. When we visit friends in Gainesville, we are always thrilled when we go past Orlando because that's when the thrill rides really start for us. :) We love it.
Glad you enjoyed your Labor Day. I am so behind on visits it's not even funny. Helping hubby out with our family business and the kids had college activities that had us out almost two weeks.
Browsing through your posts now.
xoxo's
LOL!
so cute!
glad to hear about the turkeys being kept safe.
...now I want hot dogs...or turkey...lol
have a great night!
What a funny sight. Hope you are having a nice week.
LOL! Who knew there were hills AND turkeys in Florida?? In my neck of the woods (NY & Mass.) we see them all the time...and fox, and bears, and snapping turtles and sometimes mouse.
HEEHAWWWWW!!!
Hi namemate! Sorry for the super late comment and visit. I've been so busy with work over the past week. :)
I was again mesmerized by the large relaxing view of the field. The greenery is very refreshing to the eye. The weather also looks so perfect.
Wishing you another great weekend!
LOL No turkey dogs for you, huh! ;P
Did you know that Benjamin Franklin wanted the wild turkey to be our national symbol?
xo,
RJ
