A ‘Quick Little Project’?

How can a little project take all afternoon?

I had some pretty tapestry fabric that I bought in the remnant bin at a fabric shop to make new scarves for our night stands.

Here’s the beige one in the ‘before’ photo.

(I made these a long time ago)

I’m pleased with the way they turned out and happy with the pretty red it brings into my bedroom for Fall.

But why did it take all afternoon?!

Maybe because it was fuzzy! I had fuzz all over everything, including myself!

I had to wash what I was wearing, clean and vacuum the sewing room (wearing another outfit! lol).

So my little project took all afternoon to accomplish.

I’m joining Thrifty Things Friday!

Also Katherine’s Corner,

Ivy and Elephants and

Jann for Share Your Cup

and Rednesday Wednesday .

I also made ONE homespun pumpkin (before I cut my velvet). Don’t even ask! hahaha!

Are you a messy crafter, too?

I love the scarves. Love the warm fall color of the fabric.

I don't do much crafting these days, but I remember how messy sewing can be!

I have started a rag rug and that's a lovely mess of string everywhere! When you tear the fabric and then when you braid or weave it the strings just keep coming!

The scarves are pretty...I love the colors!

Messy does not describe my craft area. Right now I am using my Criuct to create halloween houses for the grandkids. I just let the scraps fall to the floor and sweep up when it gets a bit too deep. The table scarf adds a nice warmth to the bedside, doesn't it.

Very cozy for fall! I try to keep a lint roller near by when I work with fabric. I even use it on the table. ♥

Happy Rednesday!
Those were definitely worth the afternoon and fuzz. Makes the room pop. Messy Crafter?! Well, let's just say I don't post the area while
'Creativity is Under Construction" as I put is,,hehe...excuse me the bulldozer is here to move the mess over

I enjoy your blog so much! Love how the pop of red warms the room! There's a cute saying that goes: "Creativity is Messy, and I am VERY creative"... or something like that. That fits my craft room too!

Very nice touch in your bedroom. Boy, do I understand messes when creating. My husband has nicknamed me the mad scientist. My craft room is spilling over with projects right now.

Good Afternoon Diane, I have never heard of scarves..... at first I thought you were making a scarf, then I looked at your photograph and realised it was what we would call a small runner. It may have taken all afternoon, it may have caused you to change your clothes, it may have taken you a while to tidy up....but it was worth it as your scarves look lovely.
Oh, and yes, I am a messy sewer.
Best Wishes
Daphne

Hi Miss Lavender Dreams,

Sorry I haven't written but it's been a wee bit crazy around here.

Messy crafter - if you look that phrase up in the dictionary it says "see Mom's craft room". Honest. Right now you can't walk in a straight line. She giggled when she read that you changed your clothes and immediately cleaned your craft room. She would have brushed the red fuzz off herself, which would end up on me and left the room a MESS! Honest.

Are you taking Wendy to the mountains? Don't forget the Cheese Doodles!

Yes I'm definitely messy and worse still I seem to be taking even longer getting anything finished!
Your fabric looks great for fall bound to be worth the fuzz!

Nice! And I like your bedroom. Not totally frilly, just nice and clean and peaceful. Also like your bed being in front of the windows. If I get ambitious, I might do that too.

Yes, I tend to be a messy worker. But I have a plan, work fast, and get 'er done! (and cleaned up). :-)

A very nice way to update for fall! Sewing anything takes me forever! Love your bedroom :)))

What a pretty color. At least you were able to finish them and not stash them in a drawer like me. I've been known to get pretty messy myself when I'm busy with a project.
