What a perfect book for you, the Golden Book collector. That was sweet of Cindy to think of you. That's what I really like when someone just thinks of us out of the blue. It's a good feeling. I remember being a kid and loving those books. They were such a good quality too. Hope you and your sweetie are having a fun time. xoxo, Susie

Like everyone else I grew up with Golden Books. They were always so affordable and fun to read. I should collect them, they are so comforting! I love this one, I'm glad it's a real book! I wasn't sure until I read the comments.

Your cousin is thoughtful to send you a Christmas gift in August knowing how much you'd love it! I've read many a Golden Book to our girls and grands over the years but I didn't keep any.
Thank you my lavender sister for announcing Mosaic Monday to your readers and sharing your delightful mosaic.

What a nice gift, she must know you are a collector.. I remember reading a lot of the golden books to my son when he was little.. Enjoy your new week ahead!

I saw it in a bookshop and thought I might add it to my Christmas parcel going to France for the grandies... though I think it's more appropriate for our age group!

A perfect early Christmas pressie for you Diane!

Wonderful photos!

Diane, this book is precious!! I saw it in the Barnes and Noble Friday night, but I didn't stop to look at it. We read Little Golden Books to our son ALL the time when he was little --such happy memories! :) I recognized the Tawny Scrawny Lion in one of the pictures; that was one of our favorites.

Thanks for sharing this with us; what a sweet gift! Thanks for your visit and have a wonderful week!

Hugs,

Denise

I remember my grandma and my mom reading to me from those books - such happy memories.

I was wondering if you take your sewing machine along to NC and sew while you're in the mountains?

This is weird Diane. I was thinking about you so I grabbed my iPad to visit and saw you had commented on my blog. What a coincidence, but things like that happen a lot, don't they?!

This weekend I went to the library for the DVDs of House of Cards and while I was there the librarian loaned me some magazines called Reminisce. Have you heard of it? I think you would enjoy it! Very interesting articles of times long past and fabulous retro pics to go along with them.

Diane, I'm probably going to want to pick your brain soon. We may be visiting Florida this winter if all goes well so I'll need some suggestions :).

Oh, Diane, I remember my Little Golden Books so well. The pages with the little boy with his suitcase and the mom and daughter getting on the train look very familiar. That was my era. :) This looks like a great book to own. What a special friend you have to gift it to you. Thanks for sharing. xxx ~ Nancy

I have not read that one. I love Golden Books too, I have some from the 70s that I can't part with. I use some of them for crafting. I have covered many of the images in resin and put them in a nice earring setting. I have sold them like that in my Etsy before. Some of my favorites are Frosty and The Night Before Christmas.

Oh how I love Golden Books! How sweet of your cousin to send that to you! Way back when I was pregnant with my second son, I bought a Golden Book called "The Bears' New Baby" to help prepare my oldest for his new baby brother. Anyway, it wasn't until I got home that I noticed the back cover of the book was bound upside down! It's one of my favorites still today because of the imperfection. :) I also have some Golden Books from when I was little back in the 70's. (my favorite was the "Good Little Bad Little Girl") I also have a few "Tell-A-Tales" books and "Start-Right Elf" books from my childhood. Happy times, indeed!
