Oh how I love sweet Golden books! I’ve been collecting them for years. And my sweet cousin, Cindy has added to my collection over the years!
This week she sent me a pressie…Christmas in August! “Everything I Need to Know I Learned From a Little Golden Book”.
Isn’t the snowman paper cute?
And how perfect that my word for this year is
EXPLORE!
Let’s read it together…
Daydream.
and crack open a book!
Be a romantic.
Cultivate contentment.
Sing even if you can’t hold a tune.
Start planning that dream trip!
Soon you’ll be on your way.
Thanks sweet Cindy!
I’m joining Beautiful Sunday

I like your BOOKS! I remember these little books growing up too! I haven't read this particular book though!;) I like how the author put this one together! ;)
Oh how darling is THAT?! Your cousin is such a sweetie.
What a perfect book for you, the Golden Book collector. That was sweet of Cindy to think of you. That's what I really like when someone just thinks of us out of the blue. It's a good feeling. I remember being a kid and loving those books. They were such a good quality too. Hope you and your sweetie are having a fun time. xoxo, Susie
that is really sweet. :)
That is an adorable little Golden Book, don't think I've ever seen that one.
What great inspiration for little children and adults, too. We can all use gentle reminders to grow and learn. You must have a treasure trove of beautiful little books.

I'm always on the lookout for Little Golden books. One of my Pinterest boards is on LGBs. I've never seen your book... great gift for you!!!
So cute....is this a real book you can buy, or did she make it????
It's a real book that you can buy. Hope you get this answer. (I couldn't email you back, you're a no reply blogger.) Hugs, Diane
Diane, that is such a sweet book! I love old children's books also, but you have a wonderful collection!

Linda
I'm not the right lavender blog, TLady but I'm glad you stopped by! I'll visit you soon, too!
Like everyone else I grew up with Golden Books. They were always so affordable and fun to read. I should collect them, they are so comforting! I love this one, I'm glad it's a real book! I wasn't sure until I read the comments.
I just love Little Golden Books! I pick them up all of the time to read to my little ones. The stories never get old!
Judy

Your cousin is thoughtful to send you a Christmas gift in August knowing how much you'd love it! I've read many a Golden Book to our girls and grands over the years but I didn't keep any.
Thank you my lavender sister for announcing Mosaic Monday to your readers and sharing your delightful mosaic.
My sister gave me this book for Christmas!! It's a great book.
warmly,
deb
What a nice gift, she must know you are a collector.. I remember reading a lot of the golden books to my son when he was little.. Enjoy your new week ahead!
I saw it in a bookshop and thought I might add it to my Christmas parcel going to France for the grandies... though I think it's more appropriate for our age group!
A perfect early Christmas pressie for you Diane!
Wonderful photos!
Diane, this book is precious!! I saw it in the Barnes and Noble Friday night, but I didn't stop to look at it. We read Little Golden Books to our son ALL the time when he was little --such happy memories! :) I recognized the Tawny Scrawny Lion in one of the pictures; that was one of our favorites.
Thanks for sharing this with us; what a sweet gift! Thanks for your visit and have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Denise
What a sweet book, and a sweet cousin. Those little Golden Books are classics of childhood, aren't they? I remember reading many of them to our children. A fun group of photos, Diane. Have a great week.
How sweet The Little Golden Books are! I recently been finding a few more to add to small collection as well! Love them! Hope you are having a great summer!
Blessings,
Susie
I remember my grandma and my mom reading to me from those books - such happy memories.
I was wondering if you take your sewing machine along to NC and sew while you're in the mountains?
So many familiar pictures....I was a Pokey Puppy girl, myself, growing up. Sweet memories and a lovely gift. Ann
Love this! I have a small collection of Golden Books.
Someone has had that book on before, it looks so cute, I've never seen it "live".
This is weird Diane. I was thinking about you so I grabbed my iPad to visit and saw you had commented on my blog. What a coincidence, but things like that happen a lot, don't they?!
This weekend I went to the library for the DVDs of House of Cards and while I was there the librarian loaned me some magazines called Reminisce. Have you heard of it? I think you would enjoy it! Very interesting articles of times long past and fabulous retro pics to go along with them.
Diane, I'm probably going to want to pick your brain soon. We may be visiting Florida this winter if all goes well so I'll need some suggestions :).
Oh, Diane, I remember my Little Golden Books so well. The pages with the little boy with his suitcase and the mom and daughter getting on the train look very familiar. That was my era. :) This looks like a great book to own. What a special friend you have to gift it to you. Thanks for sharing. xxx ~ Nancy
You won't believe this My daughter got this for me for Mothers Day. I don't think I have posted it. I love Golden Books, another love that we share. I like having this sampler of favorite books. So funny.....another shared like.
What an adorable book!!!
How fun! I do love Golden Books and many other kids books. The illustrations are always wonderful.
I too love Golden Books, but I've never seen this one...
I've seen it somewhere before, and I need to get a copy for myself. I have over 40 of the old Golden books that I adore! So glad you shared this with us as a reminder to run downtown and get my own copy!
that is a precious book! Enjoy!
I'm not familiar with Golden books but they look very cute Diane! How thoughtful of your cousin to send it to you.
I have many Golden Books, too, Diane! It is so nice to see my grandchildren enjoying them now.
Such sweetness ..I try love old books
Hugs x
I have not read that one. I love Golden Books too, I have some from the 70s that I can't part with. I use some of them for crafting. I have covered many of the images in resin and put them in a nice earring setting. I have sold them like that in my Etsy before. Some of my favorites are Frosty and The Night Before Christmas.
I love love love Little Golden books. Pokey Puppy was one of my favorites back in the 50's. My sibs and I had stacks of them. The ones I had left my daughter has now. Just so wonderful. MB
Diane,
Jess just bought me that book "Everything you need to know" and I absolutely LOVE IT! It's nice to know that someone else loves The Little Golden Books as much as I do. :~)
love,
~Sheri
So nice of your cousin. Love these books, so wish these were still "the" children's books used today...classic!
Thanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY...
Blessings,
Cindy
Just picked up a Christmas story golden book at the library book sale / old...loved it :)
Oh how I love Golden Books! How sweet of your cousin to send that to you! Way back when I was pregnant with my second son, I bought a Golden Book called "The Bears' New Baby" to help prepare my oldest for his new baby brother. Anyway, it wasn't until I got home that I noticed the back cover of the book was bound upside down! It's one of my favorites still today because of the imperfection. :) I also have some Golden Books from when I was little back in the 70's. (my favorite was the "Good Little Bad Little Girl") I also have a few "Tell-A-Tales" books and "Start-Right Elf" books from my childhood. Happy times, indeed!
