We’ve seen some of the most beautiful flowers since we’ve been here.
Butterfly bushes and all kinds of plants in shades of lavender grow so well here in NC.
I always walk over to the butterfly bushes to look for the Hummingbird Moths. A link to learn more about them is HERE.
I’ve only been lucky enough to get one good photo.
Aren’t they amazing?
I’m dedicating my Lavender post to our new host, Judith. Thanks for continuing our love of mosaics, my friend! Thanks also to Diane and Cindy!
I’m joining Beautiful Sunday

I've never seen one of these!! Neat!! You're lucky to have caught a great picture of it!!
So pretty, Diane.
The hummingbird moths are amazing. The first time I saw one I couldn't figure out what I was looking at.
I am very impressed by your photo. I chased one around my patio the other day and ended up with a series of blurry photos. They are fast movers.
Kudos to you for getting a photo of that amazing moth. I have never been so lucky. Have a wonderful holiday, sweet friend. xo Laura
such neat creatures! great photos!
The hummingbird moths are gorgeous. We had them in the garden once and I was lucky enough to get some photos. I'm sure they have been around other times I just haven't been quick enough to see them :)
I hadn't heard of moth or bush before. I will have to check out the moth, it looks amazing. Thanks for visiting and leaving such a sweet comment. It means a lot.
Love these photos and what an amazing moth! hugs to you Sis!

Diane...Did you receive your notice from Goodreads that you WON a copy of my memoir?? That is so funny, because there were something like 200+ entries, and Goodreads has total control over it, so I couldn't have possibly "chosen" YOU!! I'm so happy for you!!
Those moths are weird and amazing. I've seen a couple in flight but have never been able to get a picture.
Oh my, these are truly beautiful. Thank's for the treat of that beautiful hummingbird moths, great picture.
Blessing,
Marlene
Beautiful moth, seeing one is a first for me....thank you Diane.
Lovely colours in your collages!
Have a great week,
Ruby
Thank you lavender sister, a beautiful mosaic and I love the font you used!
I've photographed hummingbird moths before so recently when I saw a couple on the butterfly bushes I walked up to one for a real close look. Do you know it allowed me to cup it in my hand while it fed on the nectar!
Your capture of one is awesome.
Thanks for linking to MM Diane.
the hummingbird moth photo is especially spectacular. And how fitting to honor Judith with your post. I used to get you two mixed up years ago with the Lavender in your name, but not anymore. I enjoyed your post on Marshall. I'm not sure we've been there, some of the NC towns run together in my mind but it definitely should be put on our list. We love NC small towns!
Afternoon, love the Hummingbird Moth, great shot...Blessings Francine.
Beautiful pictures! Never would have seen this without you. Hope you're having a great weekend.
Beautiful mosaic! I loved seeing the hummingbird moth, the flowers, and the swallowtail butterfly!
I don't remember seeing these moth's when I was a kid. Just started seeing them in the last 5 years that we have lived here in Arkansas.
Oh my gosh, I've never heard of the hummingbird moth! This is very interesting to me because the hummingbird is a beloved bird to me. What a nice picture this is. You captured its beauty well.
love,
~Sheri

Beautiful photo of the hummingbird moth! I've only seen one here and that was a few years ago.

Beautiful.
We planted four new butterfly bushes this year.
We have many hummingbirds and beautiful butterflies.
God is good.
Woolie Blessings
Hoot hoot!
You had the perfect shot on the last photo. I love that the the budding butterfly is around.
Thank you for forever linking up namemate. And since it's the BER month already, let me be the first person to send you the best Xmas wishes. :)
Beautiful photos and collages and I especially love the hummer moth...they are so lovely!
Hi Diane. This is my first Mosaic Monday and how nice it is start off with a friend. You always have creative and interesting mosaics.
The hummingbird moth is amazing Diane.
I think this is what I saw one day in my daughter's garden in France last year. However by the time I had my camera focused - it had gone - they are so quick.
Beautiful flowers in your NC garden.
Enjoy your late summer days.
Hugs
Shane
Wasn't that just the bee knees that we would post on the same thing?
No wonder it's called a Hummingbird Moth as it sounds just like one! You got a much better picture than I did but I learn so much from my blogging friends. Thank you!
Wow! Great pic of the Hummimgbird Moth! This is my first time posting on Mosaic Monday...Nice to meet you Diane.
What an amazing looking moth! It does look as big as a hummingbird! Lovely flowers,Diane!
Love your photos! Lavender and green are two of my favorite colors. I've never seen one of those moths in person, just photos. Amazing little creatures.
