We walked out on the balcony to watch this spectacular sunset last night.
We love to sit in our glider and watch it change right before our eyes.
The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains take your breath away. Mt. Pisgah, tallest mountain in center.
Reflected in the French doors on the balcony.
And then at around 10 pm, we walked out on the balcony to see the ‘pumpkin moon’.
(that’s not an official name, we just called it that)
Have a fabulous weekend filled with beauty.

Wonderful!! Isn't Pumpkin Moon a Tasha Tudor book? I'll look that up.
I just checked-- It's "Pumpkin Moonshine." I was close.
Pumpkin Moon Waxing...LOL! Well that's a fine name. I wonder what it really is...oh in two out of three years it is the Harvest Moon or sometimes the Corn Moon, according to the Farmer's Almanac.
Now is it cool out there in the evenings? Do you need a sweater? It looks so beautiful that I'd very much enjoy that time of day.
Official or not, very apt Diane!
I can see why you like the Blue Mountains.
Great photos, thanks for sharing!
oh wow! what an awesome view-that make a gorgeous painting too
Such a beautiful photo. I'd almost give up my lake sunset for that. Almost!! xo
how pretty!
Oh what beautiful views. I'd never get any work done at all if I had that vista to enjoy every day! lol
Pumpkin moonshine, how wonderful and gorgeous. Great photos! Oh I am ready for a mountain trip and a beach trip! LOL!
hugs,
Linda
beautiful, so tranquil,,,
Harvest Moon, perhaps, but I think that is the full moon. None the less such a beautiful view. It must be very relaxing to sit and watch night fall. We used to see beautiful sunsets, but then houses across the way began to pop up blocking our view of the Rocky Mountains. Wonderful photos, Diane.
WOW! Gorgeous!!!
I love to look at sunsets, no two are ever the same. Your view was spectacular and to capture the 'pumpkin' moon as well makes the perfect evening. Have a wonderful weekend xx
Breathtaking, my friend. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo Laura
That's a beautiful place to be this time of year. Love sunsets in the Appalachians.
Absolutely beautiful! You are so sweet to share your beauty with us and we don't even have ot pay any condo fees! LOL! (Now don't go getting any ideas)
Are you still in the Good Reads book club? I just joined but it doesn't look like it's going anymore...is it? Do you know?
Have a wonderful weekend in NC!
Oh my - your sunset photos are fabulous - and the moon photo is so pretty too!
What a beautiful sunset! We had a pretty spectacular one last evening as well, with shades from pink to purple. Simply stunning. I love the name you gave the beautiful moon - very fitting.
Beautiful sunset and moon. What a lovely view you have! I would enjoy sitting on that glider and just watching the sky and mountains every evening!
Great photos, Diane. I saw that moon on Thursday, a real crescent shape.
Truly a gorgeous canvas! God painted one here as well...the sky was absolutely stunning last evening...
Blue Ridge Mountains are calling my name!!
Enjoy this Holiday weekend..
Very pretty colours in that sunset. I wonder what gives the moon that lovely orange colour?
Diana
I'd love to have a glider to sit on and I'd love to have this view. Lucky you, but at least you shared the beauty with us.
ahhh, how beautiful this is...just breathtaking.
Gorgeous! Simply gorgeous.
That looks more like a painting than a picture!! I so envy you, still hot here at home...You will have a to stay in the cool mountains a few more weeks!!

Beautiful pictures. We had the most gorgeous sunset here in Lake Tahoe last night too.
Sunsets are my favorite time of day.
Btw, we will be in Florida this winter for sure!
What a view...yes, takes one's breath away.
I like your moon name ! :) Gorgeous photo.
STUNNING!
Gorgeous sunset! I love watching sunsets also although you have a much nicer view. That's cute how you call it a pumpkin moon. It fits.
I haven't been to Pisgah in AGES! We used to go camping in the mountains when I was growing up and I loved the scenery on the parkway. Gorgeous pix! Thanks for sharing and for bringing up fond memories.
Those blues are so rich and in different shades!! Beautiful view!! You have the best of both worlds of the mountains and the ocean!
Breathtaking photos, Diane. I just love seeing mountains, and the Blue Ridge Mountains are spectacular (though I've never seen them in person). Thanks for leaving the nice comment on my blog. Hugs, Nancy
Oh wow, these are incredible sunsets, Diane. And how cool is that pumpkin moon? It reminds me that Fall is on its way. :~) It's nice that you got to stay up til 10:00 to see this. I'd be starting to nod off by then hehe.
love,
~Sheri
