I don’t often ‘repost’ photos but I keep mentioning the colorful rooster we saw a few years ago so I looked back at an old post to grab the photos.

These were taken near Bluff, NC where we have some land.

We stopped at Rocky Bluff Campground to have a picnic and saw this colorful character.

But he was decked in Autumn colors in 2010 and visiting the campground! heehee!

We do not have the old growth deciduous forests that you have back east, so our fall colors are rather mundane; however, garden centers have started selling more colorful trees and we are beginning to see those gorgeous red and oranges about town. I have always wanted to a trip eastward to see the old forests in color. Your photos feed that desire. And the rooster! What a fine specimen he is. Have a great week.

Good morning, I have never seen such a gorgeous handsome rooster before-is he a wild one do you know or domestic.
That chicken is gorgeous. LOL Prettier than a new hat, as mom would say. Our trees are all bare as are the fields more and more. It's starting to take a winter look. Is it too soon to count the days till spring? Blessings, xoxo,Susie

What a beautiful creature.
When we were in Kauai for Christmas 2012, we were surprised to see so many chickens - literally thousands - all colorful like your friend. But, when we were in Kauai this past summer we saw only a couple of birds. My daughter will be there again this Christmas and I wonder if she will see loads of chickens.
What beautiful photos! That rooster almost looks like a pheasant with his gorgeous autumn colors. Most of our autumn foliage is gone and we are expecting snow and bitter cold this week, so thanks for sharing all the lovely eye-candy.
That is amazing. I know there are all sorts of colorful breeds but don't think I have ever seen one with gray feathers.

So is that rooster real or fake? I really don't know, because I've seen a lot of beautiful chickens, but I know I've not seen all breeds of chicken. Whatever this one is, if he's real, I want one. LOL
