We’re starting to see some unusual birds here in Florida!
I looked up high in the sky while standing in our driveway and saw these two Storks.
I’ve cropped the photo to give you a better look.
And I don’t want to forget to show you the geese we saw in NC while we were there.
We drove down a road, taking a bit of a shortcut and there in a wet area were 150 + geese!
YES….I said 150 GEESE!
We couldn’t believe what we were seeing.
My sweet hubby found a place to pull over.
It is a property called The Farm,
with a big beautiful barn
and other neat out buildings.
Ready now?
You put your left foot out
you put your right foot out
you put your left foot out
and you SHAKE IT ALL ABOUT!
You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself about!
And that’s what it’s all about!
It’s a great time to see migratory birds wherever you live!

I love those geese! They are so pretty and the song...I can just imagine it.
I have never seen a stork before! We have geese here in our neighborhood each spring hanging around our community lake. They always have little babies and hang out most of the summer.

in fact we just saw a coyote while walking BB and it scared me silly, he was Big... never seen one in our neighborhood before.
Those geese are so dirty they leave such a mess in their wake.
our feeder is very busy with the cold temps in place love watching it.

Great captures of the storks in flight. I’d be thrilled to see them.
Our geese at Grimmwood have returned from where ever they were. We see them in the spring and in the fall. That is a LOT of geese and while pretty, I know how messy they are!!lol

I haven't noticed any migrating birds this year. Maybe now that the weather has turned cooler I will see some. It's a good time to get out and explore a bit. xo Laura

Your photos of the migratory birds are great!
We have one little bird in New Zealand called the Godwit which migrates in March to Alaska a distance of at least 12,000 kilometres.
The male only weighs 400 grams and the female 600 grams.

Are you ready for the turkey vultures? Because I am ready to send them! There was a farm near me that was a stopping place for geese and it is always fun to see. I never imagined them doing the honkey-ponkey, but am grinning to think of it now.
That's a beautiful photo of the underside of the stork! Yes it seems we see geese aplenty here... all around our church too. I'm glad you missed the hurricanes!

Just today I must have seen 40 deer in a pasture just walking around eating the grass. It was amazing.
Don't think I've ever seen a stork, great photos. Used to seeing geese around here but 150 in one spot is A LOT of them.

We are seeing them leave here and as we wave goodbye for winter you greet them at the other end. You got some great pictures. We do have hundreds of geese that winter at our wildlife sanctuary here...don't know why they don't migrate but they don't.

baby birds (the cardinals) that was an unusual sighting for me in september/october!!
Those storks are beautiful! Great shot! Canada Geese are seen around here, and hang around all year long. They are not very welcome as they make terrible messes on beaches and golf courses.
