Keep looking up!

I drove by the Library pond one day and saw two of the most beautiful Osprey flying overhead! I am changing this ID now! I saw 1 Osprey and 1 Red Tailed Hawk!!! Thanks to everyone that helped me with the ID! I’m pretty sure it’s the Osprey that landed in the pine tree but these other photos are of the hawk! WHEW!!!

I think I only got photos of one of them but it was a beauty.

It’s a great place to see them ‘fishing at the pond'.

He flew right over my head!

And when this one landed on a tall pine tree….

I had a chance to look up at an airplane overhead!

When I got home and showed the photo to my husband, he said it was some type of ‘flying boat’!

I couldn’t believe it! I knew it looked different and I’m still not sure how it is propelled!

What do you think?

Thanks to everyone that commented on the airplane too. It DID have a motor that I could hear. So I’m still thinking it’s type of flying boat.

These IDs are tricky! lol

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

The osprey's feathers are so pretty in the photo right above you. That plane is interesting. Did it sound loud at all because there are no propellers as you noted?

Hello, wonderful flight shots. Not sure if the first three are Ospreys though? I could be wrong, it looks like a Red-tailed Hawk? The bird in the tree looks like an Osprey. I like the planes and pretty blue sky. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend. PS, thanks for the comment and visit to my blog.

Beautiful captures! Now that’s how it’s done! 😁

I think it is a glider, the kind that is towed and let go... my hubby's friend has one, not exactly like this one, but a lot like it. google ultra light aircraft gliders.

The birds are beautiful, and that plane is weird to say the least....did it make any sound? Surely it was a glider of some sort. Thanks for sharing that pretty blue sky too.

Great flight pictures. Like Eileen, I'm not sure it's an Osprey though. Lovely all the same.

I have tried to get the osprey in a dive. One day they were out fishing me.

Great photos!
A few days ago, I saw a bird I thought was an Osprey, but when I got home and loaded the photos onto my computer to get a much larger view, I decided it was a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk. Whatever it is, you got some wonderful photos!

It pays to look up. : ) Could the plane have been a glider?

Diane, those osprey's wings are glorious! So strong and beautiful.

Not an osprey...it's a red tailed hawk (perhaps swainson's)

LOVE your photos & conversation! Thanks for sharing with us at I'd Rather B Birdin this weekend ... always appreciated.

Very beautiful shot of the Osprey. About that plane---I don't know . Must have a powerful engine.

How exciting to see the majestic birds up close and get photos of them, and the strange flying boat.

I am almost never sure of ID, but I’m always envious of your ability to get amazing flight shots (of all three species ))).

Hi Diane, well it looks like you have your bird ID all lined up perfect. For the Red-tailed Hawk they always have what is called a belly band...that looks just like what it is called a darker band of feathers around the belly...it always looks like the chest area to me, but who am I ;) The Osprey is hiding from you, all so beautiful. It has been a very busy 3 weeks for me and so much to talk about, but have to get ready for packing up to leave for New York City. Hugs and blessings my friend~

Great shots you got of the hawk. Oh, to be able to glide across the sky like that :).

Wonderful osprey photos, Diane. It makes one's breath catch a little to see them flying so wild and graceful.
