Indian Summer in the Mts!

We were too early for the Fall colors in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

But there were still lots of flowers blooming at Fletcher Park!

Do you see the little loops in this flower?

And on this particular afternoon, some beautiful clouds!

There’s a path we call Sycamore Lane.

sIMG_9182

It is lined with huge Sycamore trees and you can tell how big this leaf is next to my size 7 Montrail hiking shoe!

I kept seeing pretty leaves and when I put them altogether in a mosaic it does indeed look like Fall!

The bittersweet even had a few red berries!

I’m very happy to be back in blogland…

I have to sycamores in my yard. I hate this time of year when those honking leaves come down.

Hello, lovely collection of photos. I love the leaf mosaic. The trail looks nice and the flowers are beautiful. I think our wet summer will have an effect on the fall colors here. Happy Monday, enjoy your day and week ahead.

We have lots of Sycamores around here. And YES--they do give us BIG leaves.

Still no signs of Fall here much --but they say we may finally get some cooler weather this coming weekend.... I HOPE....

Hugs,
Betsy

The mosaic you created is gorgeous. You could put it on your wall. I have to tell you, I recently bought a soft toy donkey. I fell in love with donkeys when I worked a the rescue that used to be here. Anyhow, I saw the toy donkeys at Tractor Supply and resisted until they were down to one. I bought it and I thought of all a people, you would understand why. Maybe I will post his picture soon.

Welcome back! Loved your pretty pictures! Oh, those tiny yellow loops in the flower! And that huge leaf!
It looks like spring here in North Texas! Trees still have all their leaves and flowers are blooming! It’s supposed to get chilly next weekend! I want to have a fire burning in the fireplace and wear a sweater!

Oh my goodness... That leaf is huge! I can't imagine raking a whole tree of those! I'm so happy our maple leaves are much smaller.

Love all your beautiful *images*!!! :)

Diane, Now you know why I tell Ted it's time to rake if three leaves fall off the Sycamore tree. LOL Bittersweet is a pretty thing to use in fall décor. The weather map is looking scary ...you may have to batten down the hatches again. Love your cloud shot. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

We are too early for the autumn colors, too. in my part of the world. After the last typhoon, temperature soared high, but the difference from summer is dry air. Walking Sycamore Lane looks healing both to body and mind. The photos made me feel like walking under the dappled shades in person. I like the mosaic; each leaf is only one.

Those leaves do look wonderful. Hope the edges of the big storm don't get you too wet (same for our little Florida house).

I hope y'all don't get much rain from the storm in North Carolina. The quilts are all so pretty. I love quilts, and I saw the prettiest large, round table in an English library covered in a quilt. It was so welcoming and pretty!

I think that's the biggest leaf I've seen! haha Your collage of leaves are pretty, and I love the orange colored one. It looks like Autumn. Sycamore Lane is so lovely and peaceful to take a hike. Those yellow flowers are unusual looking and very pretty with their curled up ends. : )
