We had great weather conditions on our trip to NC and back. And since we’ve been back, the weather has gotten cooler and less humid. We are seeing the photos and video of the terrible damage on the Gulf Coast and feel so sad for these fellow Floridians. The damage did not come into the central part of the state and affect us but the sadness and loss sure does.
I don’t take a lot of photos while we travel but here are a few in the form of mosaics!
And when we stayed overnight in Georgia at our favorite Hampton Inn, this mosaic was on the wall.
Cotton fields ready to be harvested!
The big beautiful sky!
To the MOON!!!
And a little town along the way with Fall decorations.
I just have to include the first photo I took when we got back to Florida. I was gathering up my bag, water, camera, etc and saw this beautiful dragonfly in the grass next to the driveway.
Welcome back….it said!
I’m joining Mosaic Monday HERE.

I always enjoy your mosaics. I love the cotton fields this time of year.
It's been a while since I've popped over to see you. It looks like you had a lovely trip, Diane.
That is one lovely dragonfly -- so delicate and pretty.
Wishing you a beautiful week ahead,
Brenda
I love taking the back roads...my husband not so much!! We took 41 home from Atlanta the other day as I 75 is slow due to road work. I loved seeing the old part of Atlanta and Marietta. It is quite changed from when I was in Nursing School and we traveled that road home to Chatsworth. My heart breaks for the people of Florida. So much devastation!!
Your mosaic is beautiful as is the dragonfly! There is no place like home.
Welcome back home . . . safe and sound. That's the way we like it. Dragon flies are wonderful little creatures, so intricately made.
Hello,
Lovely collection of images. The cooler weather is here too, the humidity is gone. Love the gorgeous to the moon photo and the dragonfly is beautiful. Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
Glad to hear that you are back home safe and well, and what a welcome you received from the dragonfly, great capture.
Happy Mosaic Monday.
Lovely pictures and I love dragonflys! Have a great week!
Blessings,
Jill
that body on the dragonfly is different than the ones I have seen, almost a designer dragonfly. beautiful capture. the sky is always what I love when we drive, you captured it perfectly. I share in the sorrow for our fellow Floridians
Beautiful photos especially the sky, I’m partial to a beautiful sky lol,
Welcome back! Glad you enjoyed NC and that you had no damage from the storm. The sadness and loss effects everyone. "Harvey" still does here after one year. ....
I just started a book," The Painted House" that begins with the cotton harvest.Glad all worked out for you
I’m missing the cotton fields down in the country! The rain is keeping us at home and I really wanted to go to the ranch. I missed being there in February and September and now October.
Welcome back! Glad the weather is nice for you. I join you in thinking about those who were so devastated with the hurricane.
There's nothing better than traveling the backroads of America. A long time ago, I read a book called Blue Highways, which was about traveling the backroads, marked in blue on the old maps. It was a great adventure to read.
Oh I always love looking at your beautiful photos of your travels. Welcome back to FL and hope you have no more of those terrible hurricanes.
Have a nice week
Julie
You Floridians always help each other. Even praying is good because prayer changes things.
Glad that the storm was not spread out all over Florida.
Lovely post and divine photos ~ Mother Nature is not nice sometimes ~ praying for all
Happy Day to you,

Driving the backroads of any country is one of my favorite past-times … you always discover something interesting! Praying for all those in Florida affected by Michael. Such devastation!
Praying with you. We received a phone call from Sam. The Commander of Fort Jackson let the trainees call home to let family know they made it alright out of Hurricane Michael. Sam has prepared for two hurricanes already. Goodness.. I honestly never thought about hurricanes when we sent him off for Basic. Life is always full of surprises. ;-)
Always enjoy your photography. I love how you noticed the dragon fly.
Glad you had a good time. Happy Mosaic Monday
much love...
Welcome back indeed!
That photograph of the dragonfly is a beauty.
All the best Jan
Enjoyed the mosaics. Nice of the dragonfly to welcome you home
Diane, My heart just hurts for everyone's losses. The worst is loss of loved ones , then their homes and most of their hometown. So sad. Praying for them. Glad you are safe. Sweet girl if feels like winter here and a hard freeze forecasted for tomorrow morning. Bummer. I was sick of the AC running so much...but I do not want to run the heat just yet. :( I would have loved some 65 degree days..you know to open windows and have fresh air. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
What a lovely dragonfly to welcome you home. Great photo. I'm glad your home was not affected by the storms. There is such devastation elsewhere. Have a great week, Diane.
Yes, we are sick at heart for all those who suffered in Michael's wake. Love your photos!! It really is interesting to see cotton in the fields.
Welcome back indeed! That storm was so bad. We drove through those cities spring before last on our trip back to Oregon ....so sad to see.
Oh what beautiful pictures... The blue skies... And cotton fields.
It is sad to see all the devastation on TV from the hurricanes... the homes, businesses, and crops... Praying for those who lost so much.
Blessings to you and all! Net
I love your photos! Yes, the disasters in the world are so many it's hard to keep up with them all....I just pray....a lot! Where's that cross stitch? LOL! Glad you got home safe and sound.
Oh, I'd love to see the cotton fields in Georgia. What a sight that must have been. That's a pretty picture of the clouds, and that dragonfly is stunning. What a great picture. I bet it was good to be home, Diane.
love, ~Sheri
