Blue Run Highlights Hike #59

We always love to look at our photos when we get home from a hike and pick out the highlights.

One of our highlights was walking up to the bank of the Rainbow River and seeing a Great Blue Heron right in front of us. We saw him before he saw us which was neat!

We had to be fast to get any photos once he saw us.

Wood Ducks are always fun to see.

They are so colorful and beautiful!

 A Gulf Fritillary

Lots of pretty flowers and butterflies in the Spring.

And how about this dusty blue Dragonfly on my hubby's size 12 hiking shoe? He was color coordinated! I called my hubby the Dragonfly whisperer!

A perfect day to walk at Blue Run Park in Dunnellon! (and yes we saw alligators too but they were in the water, viewed from the bridge!)

Was your weather nice for the holiday weekend?

I’m joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE

Diane - the photo of the heron in flight with the reflection is stunning! It deserves top spot in your blog post. Your mosaics of critters and flowers are encouraging to those in northern climes who have to be a little patient for spring to arrive! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday so faithfully!

great pictures and love all the color on those ducks! I like to see the dragonflies, but don't think I've ever got a good picture of one. The butterflies that are there, do they stay there or are they doing the migration thing, do you know?

Diane, that butterfly is sooooo pretty. And that is such a good picture of the Wood Ducks. I love to see birds in flight, and you got a good capture of the Great Blue Heron. What a cute little Dragonfly too. They always fascinate me.

*I wanted to tell you that if you want some Poppy pictures to look at before you do your painting, go to my side bar, carola bartz, and check out her post "The California Superbloom." You will be amazed at all the beautiful photos of the California Poppy. Be sure to show us your painting after. I'd love to see it. : )

The dragonfly whisperer, I love it. :-) Your shots of the Heron are amazing. I like the colors that came together in your second photo. It looks like the heron was smiling.
