Springtime at Sholom Park

Sholom Park is beautiful at any time of year.

Hubby and I had some errands we needed to run together and on the loop around town, he surprised me by pulling into Sholom Park.

It was nice and cool so we took a quick walk around the gardens.

I had thrown my 'baby' camera in my bag so all of these photos are taken with a NIKON Coolpix P310. It's a small camera that fits in the palm of your hand and takes some of the best close ups.

The breeze was blowing my hair in the right direction for a change! I had hiking shoes on but you may not recognize me without my pink cap! lol

And hubby looked handsome in a lavender colored shirt. And a 'matching' hat? heehee!

They are always planting more plants and adding flower beds. Not sure what this tall shrub was...reminds me of the flame Azalea that blooms in early Spring in NC.

Lots of Camellia flowers still blooming too.

We saw Swallowtail Kites but I plan to go back to take pics of them. They nest at Sholom Park every year in the same area so it's nice to see them back again.

Have you had a chance to get outside this week? And do you really think sandals would look better with capris than hiking shoes? hahaha!

I’m joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE
and Cooking and Crafting with J&J HERE.

I keep extra shoes in my car just in case it is muddy or I wasn't ready for a hike

Hiking shoes are my favorite footwear! That is such a beautiful park. We see swallowtails kites here too , but I despair of ever getting a picture. Maybe if I knew where they nested!

Looks like another great place for walking.
I've been out every day walking. Some days among the snow flurries! :)

Especially like your beautiful flower pictures. I'm happy that I got my three miles of walking done today on a not so warm spring day.

Oh, to see those flowers really made me smile. Such pretty ones at the park this time of year. Yes, those look like Azaleas, but the middle sprouts out. The color is lovely. This is a really good picture of you, Diana. How nice of your husband to surprise you with this visit to Sholom Park. I can't wait to spend time in nature soon.

Diane - I think you hired one of those professional photographers with a fan to blow your hair in just the right way! LOL! Bright flowers to add color to our day. We had a mixture of sudden showers and then sunshine today, so I got my joy inside! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

It is always a good idea to have some sort of camera on hand, lol! Your little camera did a great job! I love those camellia blooms, just gorgeous. Too cold here for them. Have a blessed and lovely week :)

Beautiful photos! :-) Love the pictures of you and your husband too, good to see your smiling faces. Our weather has been so weird lately... yesterday we had snow showers and temperatures in the low 30's. Then today it's sunny and in the 70's! Crazy!! Hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

Blessings,
Jill

Of course sandals would look better, but let's be practical here (and you were!!!). At our age, we need to maintain the health of our feet as much as we possibly can, including good supportive shoes when hiking.

Like you, I think it's fun to see a blog from my local area with pictures. We have driven quickly through Sholom Park but have not had the time yet to take a leisurely stroll through there.

We should be done opening all of our moving boxes by the end of this week. This has been the most exhausting part of the move, but I want to "get my house in order."
