When one thing leads to another...

...don't you love the unexpected? I had an idea to buy some odd 'cheap' frames from the old thrift store for some of my art. I thought I was putting SO much work into some of my characters, that it would be nice to frame my favorites.

All of these are empty except for the one on top. I cleaned them all and put them in a small box and if I don't use them, I can always donate them back!

I never go on Saturday because I think it will be too busy but that's what I did anyway. And I walked in and went straight to the frames and found exactly what I wanted and went to the checkout with my 'haul'. (25 cents each for frames)

Oh and they had jewelry at the checkout and I picked out these pins for 25 cents each.

And the cards were where I was standing in line and I got this bag of handmade cards...yes, 25 cents!

(an example of those in the bag)

But when I was driving home, I passed a 'Craft Sale' sign. I mean I really drove past it. But guess what? My car turned down a side street, turned around and headed back in the other direction!!!

Cherrywood Estates has the VERY best craft sales EVER!

And the ladies there all recognize me too. I got hugs from several of them. There were even some of the Hospice Volunteers there shopping...more hugs!

So what did I buy?

I bought a basket from the basket lady and got a hug.

And I splurged on these beautiful handmade Queen size pillowcases!

I hope my sweet cousin Cindy doesn't see this post. She has told me how to make them and will surely remember that I have some pretty fabric I could use.

But these were PERFECT! Don't you think? (I have blue sheets on my bed!)

I feel very blessed to get to shop for things I enjoy and love finding the unexpected!

Have you had something good happen to you this week too?

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays .

WoW!! good finds!! i am trying to think of something good from this week and i can't really think of anything too special so i guess not!! my legs still work and i always think that is pretty awesome!!

i like those frames, i have those gold ones in my home, with my sons graduation pictures in them!!

and a great haul on the cards. i sometimes make cards and they take a long time...but when i see them at a craft show, i always buy them. they are always cheaper than a nice hallmark card and i have more room to write my message!!!

the pillowcases are beautiful!!!!

That is so awesome that you have these nice places to shop and even get hugs when you go there! I was so happy this week when I have gotten almost everyday FaceTime calls from my daughter who is away at college in Rhode Island. She just made my week and made me smile!!!
Hope you have a nice weekend.

Ha ha... you need the bumper stick... "Warning: I stop for craft sales!" I like getting frames at thrift stores for my photos. They have more character than the new ones!

What great finds! I love homemade cards and I should try to make some one of these days. I'm still coughing and trying to get over this crazy cold I've had. The cough has got me down for going on 3 weeks now. Crazy!

Diane, I love that your car knows where you need to go. LOL. You funny girl. I love all the goodies you ended up with after shopping. Lots of nice things to play with too. Oh the pillow cases are a hit with me. Ted has a big pillow that I usually put two standard cases on and make them met in the middle. LOL Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie.

You found some good deals with your shopping!

Yesterday I found the perfect picture for our family room wall for only $7.98, originally from Kirklands, 25-inches square. I was thrilled and we hung it up last night.

Great blog post, Diane!

Funny how my car also turns itself around and heads in the opposite direction; except my car always follows "Garage Sale" signs. Doesn't work when my husband is driving, never ever. Must be a computer sensor chip thingy going out.

Its always fun finding unexpected treasures at thrift stores and as you said unused items can always be donated back, usually I pick a different store so its new to that place. Recently, I bought some books to send and stationary as well.
