Or is it Ibises? I pulled into the Pruitt trailhead of the Florida Trails, rolled my window down and took my first photo.
Do you see what I see through the fence?
(we're parked now!!!)
An amazing flock of Ibises....
every different kind.
Even some juvenile White Ibis!
Oh and a couple of Great White Egrets!
I stood on my tip toes for photos....
and put my camera between the fence rails!
It was a birders paradise!
One of those 'time and chance' sightings.
Because about an hour later when I left, they were all gone!
Even a juvenile Little Blue Heron (he's white).
But I don't think they went far! We've seen them again!
Have you had a good week?
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE
and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

A very good week hear Diane. We are in Savannah, staying at Tybee! While it is raining today we enjoyed a stroll on the beach yesterday and tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful We leave on Monday!
wow, the right place at the right time for sure! that is about the biggest flock I have seen in one place. are you getting rain today? we are, and happy about it
...something that is new to me, thanks!
I would have had warm fuzzy feelings for the rest of the day had I come across that group.
Hello,
Wonderful sightings of the Glossy Ibis and all various the waders. The Glossy Ibis's feather are beautiful. Love all the Little Blue, White Ibis and Egrets. Florida is a birder's paradise. Great post and photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend.
Wow. So many varieties at one spot! I especially like the close up of the darker one - so many beautiful shades of feathers. Thanks so much for sharing these pictures. Amazing!
Timing! Wow. What a find, too. Great shots, thanks for sharing them.
You have a good eye for your feathered friends.
What perfect timing! God meant for you to see them!
What a gathering! They seem to be having a party!
What a great capture!! All those birds in one place, enjoying the puddles of water in the field!
What a wonderful sighting to come across. Right place at the right time. Excellent photos. Have a wonderful day.
A nice one, the Ibisis are beautiul, beautiul.
What a wonderful welcome you got. That one has the prettiest feathers with all those different colors
I think you hit the jackpot!
What wonderful birds! We have the egrets here in the Summer in Michigan. Janice
You live in a wonderful place with so many gorgeous birds! Happy Sunday.
It's fun to see things like this.
You're either in the right place at the right time....or you're just plain Lucky, ha ha LOL!---love seeing the birds. It rained all day here. Splish splash, LOL! We ventured out though, and finished up the day shopping, getting our trick or treat candy and household stuff. Tomorrow should be clear and sunny. Hope you have a happy Sunday!
They are very nice to see, even though their beak is slightly funny. We have a few in the Italian countryside, now when climate is changing and Italy is so much warmer. They come from Egypt.
What beautiful pictures of these birds, I think the ibises are really beautiful.
I wish you a nice Sunday.
Best regards, Irma
I love it when I see something unexpected like this. We have egrets all the time, but I don’t think I have seen an ibis. Had to laugh because that is the name of an airport hotel we stayed in in Paris recently!.
I was so happy to see that you had visited.
You were definitely at the right place at the right time!
For registering your link to this post for us birders at I'd Rather B Birdin' this week, I thank you. Have a spectacular day.
It's great when that happens. I always try and slow down when I see a flooded field. very often there are one or two or more birds there. Nice work Diane.
That is a birder's paradise. Lucky you. xo Laura
I love these chance happenings. And I love the photos. The birds are all so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. I can't wait till it's time for my Florida vacation and I can take some photos of these birds myself. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
Aren't they wonderful?!
Lovely nature gems captured in your photos ~ ^_^
Happy Day to You,

Hello Diane
great to see Ibissen. In the Netherlands we see them a few times and then it is also lucky that you see them. You show a beautiful series with other birds such as the great and small white egret :-)
Hugs
You really hit the jackpot with your find of the Ibis! Your knowledge of these birds is excellent!
Oh I love a find like that! Seeing great birds when you didn’t expect them always seems like a small miracle. And especially when there is more than one kind...I love that! Thanks for sharing this great find!
How great to capture these wonderful birds! Standing on tip toes or peering through a fence is what I would do, too. Yes, I've had a good week - I'm glad to be home after a quick school trip to Spain. Still recovering from jet lag, but it's not too bad. Hope you see your birds again soon!
A lovely treat
We have lots of ibis here too, pecking in the paddocks.
Have a great week!
Love all the flavors of ibis...such cool critters
What wonderful sightings and photographs :)
All the best Jan
right place, right time...lucky you!!! beautiful images!!!
According to the dictionary:
The plural form of Ibis is Ibises or Ibides.
But it didn't give the plural possessive form. Does that make it Ibises' or Ibises's?
Say that fast three times.
