The Flock of Glossy Ibis

Or is it Ibises? I pulled into the Pruitt trailhead of the Florida Trails, rolled my window down and took my first photo.

Do you see what I see through the fence?

(we're parked now!!!)

 An amazing flock of Ibises....

 every different kind.

 Even some juvenile White Ibis!

Oh and a couple of Great White Egrets!

I stood on my tip toes for photos....

and put my camera between the fence rails!

 It was a birders paradise!

One of those 'time and chance' sightings.

Because about an hour later when I left, they were all gone!

Even a juvenile Little Blue Heron (he's white).

But I don't think they went far! We've seen them again!

Have you had a good week?

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

     and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

You're either in the right place at the right time....or you're just plain Lucky, ha ha LOL!---love seeing the birds. It rained all day here. Splish splash, LOL! We ventured out though, and finished up the day shopping, getting our trick or treat candy and household stuff. Tomorrow should be clear and sunny. Hope you have a happy Sunday!

They are very nice to see, even though their beak is slightly funny. We have a few in the Italian countryside, now when climate is changing and Italy is so much warmer. They come from Egypt.

What beautiful pictures of these birds, I think the ibises are really beautiful.
I wish you a nice Sunday.
Best regards, Irma

I love it when I see something unexpected like this. We have egrets all the time, but I don’t think I have seen an ibis. Had to laugh because that is the name of an airport hotel we stayed in in Paris recently!.

I was so happy to see that you had visited.

For registering your link to this post for us birders at I'd Rather B Birdin' this week, I thank you. Have a spectacular day.

It's great when that happens. I always try and slow down when I see a flooded field. very often there are one or two or more birds there. Nice work Diane.

Hello Diane
great to see Ibissen. In the Netherlands we see them a few times and then it is also lucky that you see them. You show a beautiful series with other birds such as the great and small white egret :-)
Hugs

Oh I love a find like that! Seeing great birds when you didn’t expect them always seems like a small miracle. And especially when there is more than one kind...I love that! Thanks for sharing this great find!

How great to capture these wonderful birds! Standing on tip toes or peering through a fence is what I would do, too. Yes, I've had a good week - I'm glad to be home after a quick school trip to Spain. Still recovering from jet lag, but it's not too bad. Hope you see your birds again soon!

According to the dictionary:
The plural form of Ibis is Ibises or Ibides.
But it didn't give the plural possessive form. Does that make it Ibises' or Ibises's?
Say that fast three times.
