Spotting Birds in the Wilds of Florida

It's a challenge sometimes but lots of fun too!

My youngest son said it was like playing 'I SPY'! Walking a trail and seeing what you can see along the way!

So here we go! Grab a bottle of water and wear your cap! Let's go hiking at Blue Run Park!

And think of all the things you didn't even see. Sometimes I go on an insect hunting walk and it is incredible what you can find within a few steps. It is sad that so many people never take the time to connect with nature,

I love all your beautiful wildlife. We don't have these birds around here. So it's quite a treat for me that you share your photos. You have a wonderful day, (and hubby too!) hugs, Edna B.

Some of those birds do blend in with the scenery don't they? We so enjoy our blue heron at Grimmwood. He can be elusive as well. Enjoyed seeing Mr Lavender Dreams on the trail!

Hello. You saw so many different kind of beautiful birds. Great photos.

I don't think I've seen a Tri-colored Heron yet, but not sure I'd know the difference if I did. I believe the one we have here is a Great Blue Heron, and we saw our first Little Blue Heron the other day. We have the Great White Egrets here too, but I haven't noticed an Ibis yet. And we have the Suwannee Cooter turtle too! Four them in a row the other day. It is such fun to watch and see what birds will show up each day. Springtime seems to be bringing a new variety each day. So exciting to watch!! Love it!!! Thank you for sharing yours with us. I imagine the Blue River will have lots of interesting birds and other wildlife to enjoy. You are blesed to live near enough to go often!! What fun.

I seldom see a heron, but sometimes if I look carefully and wait a bit, I will see one on a rock in the river. I have never seen a white ibis...such a strikingly good looking fellow!

Diane, I haven't seen any of those wonderful creatures at my house. Oh, I have one of those hubby creatures. :) I like "I spy" on your hikes. Such grand birds. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

I don't think I've ever seen an Ibis with a clean beak! They are usually dirty from poking into the soil. Great shots!

Diane, what fun to play I SPY with you. I almost didn't see the first heron. That little turtle is adorable!

The only one that stops by our place is the Egret, beautiful birds you have shown, but best of all is who you enjoyed seeing them with.
Blessings,

Peek a boo, birds, I see you! And I see all of those guys over here on my patch! I just don’t get such good pictures of them too often ...your son is exactly right!

That egret with the open mouth? FOUR STAR! It should be enlarged!

I don't see turtles, ibis ibises?), blue herons, or egrets from my house. The other day I saw a seagull fly overhead. That's a rare sight. The coast is about 30 miles to the west, on the other side of a low mountain ridge.

The White Egret and White Ibis are so graceful and lovely. They kind of look alike, don't they? There's just something about white birds that are so beautiful to me. You saw some wonderful birds at Blue Run Park, Diane. Thanks for sharing a few of your discoveries.
