...you have a chance to see something wild!
And even your imagination can 'run wild'!
This Eastern Cottontail Rabbit rustled in the leaves right next to the trail and made me JUMP!
Not once.....but twice this week!
He has some straw and sticks in his mouth that he was not eating so we think he was building a nest.
More cute bunnies to scare me on the trail!
I also saw these 4 deer quite a distance away on the trail ahead of me. So I zoomed in!
They were curious about me too and stopped.
And waited...
before bounding away.
It's a joy to walk in the woods but you never know what might rustle in the leaves or cross the trail in front of you! Which makes walking in the woods so WILD....and so much fun!
Swallowtail Kite
(we're seeing them on every hike right now)
How are you doing this week? Have you been able to get outside and walk?
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE
and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

...those deer sure had their ears perked up. Take care!
The rabbit is so cute …
I've almost had an accident with a running deer ... I've been scared of them ever since! If I have to cross the zone, I always cycle hard …
Have a nice weekend Diane!
Stay safe!
How wonderful. I miss walking in the woods. xo Laura
Oh that bunny is so alert. I want to cross stitch him!!! He is too cute. Friends on the ridge behind us have seen some fox babies along with mama this spring as well as many deer. I told her it was like living in a zoo!
Hello, Diane
Looks like a great walk with wonderful wildlife sightings. I love the bunny and the pretty deer. The Swallow-tailed Kite is an awesome bird. Great collection of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing the post. Take care! Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend! PS, thank for leaving me a comment on my blog.
The bunnies are so cute. I never see bunnies anymore. I think the coyotes have eaten them all around here. Thanks for sharing them with me.
Hello,
You take the best photos, well done on capturing and sharing with us.
Lots of love to you,
Carla
P.S. I am making homemade croutons today.. inspiration from you.
xx oo
We sometimes see bunnies if you are out early enough in the morning before there are many people on the streets.
fabulous sightings, Diane! I am SUCH a sucker for bunnies! I saw my fourth of the year this morning in the yard!
No outside walking for me yet, but our parks did open to the public yesterday and people are out enjoying being outside again. The bunnies are so cute and you always take great bird pictures! Thanks for taking us along!
Thank you for sharing these very cute animals and bird. I have never seen a Swallowtail Kite before. It's been a long time since I saw a rabbit or deer. Soon hopefully. Good health and more happy moments to you :)
Tienes un blog precioso. Vengo del blog de David. Saludos.
Wonderful photos, I was in the yard all day and I don't know who was watching whom, me or the birds. The ponds despite not being cleaned out yet provide water, and well, they are re-getting use to having us walking around. We haven't seen deer in the park since before Christmas, and you are right about them being nosy...again, who was watching whom...LOL!
What wonderful photos. Looks like a great trail as well. And a pretty Kite. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
I'd love to see a swallowtail. Do you check for ticks after your walks? 🦌🦌🦌🦌
Great shots of the rabbits. I saw a bunch of them today on my walk.
Can't get close enough though to get a good picture and my phone takes awful zoomed in pictures.
As you already know I'm out there walking every morning. : )
What a cute little bunny!! Love their little faces....and their pretty ears! Their fur is so soft too. Love the deer.....you got some great pictures of them and your'e right....they DO LOOK as curious about you as you are about THEM. lol! Happy Saturday my friend!!
Love the way those deer are looking at you!
The Eastern Cottontail Rabbit looks so cute.
Take care
All the best Jan
Nice shots! I got in a short walk.
Looks like a great hike with beautiful wildlife.
I love the rabbit and the beautiful deers.
Best regards Irma
Extraordinary kite in flight! (One I have yet to see) Thanks so much for joining us at I'd Rather B Birdin this week!
Deer and bunnies and birds, too! Great!
Have a blessed day!
Eastern Cottontail are prolific here and each morning first thing there are a couple in the backyard. We appreciate them but Miriam would be whole lot happier if they stopped chowing down on every green shoot that pokes its way above the ground. As for me, if that's the price we have to pay to have rabbits, I am okay with it. Before long there will be a whole lot more!
Cute bunnies. Our Gus enjoys having a good bark when they come into the yard at dusk. Isn't it fun how those curious deer stop and pose before they take off? You got some great shots!
that rabbit is so cute !
I love your photos. The deer are magnificent, the rabbit so cute. I see that the Eastern Cottontail looks a little different from our Western ones.
And no, I haven't been outside walking this week. At this point, I better go for a walk soon, at my age it's truly "use it or lose it." Thanks for the inspiration though. I love your walks.
That bunny is just darling. I love seeing the wildlife close up like this. They really are beautiful. Enjoy your day, hugs, Edna B.
what a great walk you had!! that bunny is adorable, different than the ones i see here in my yard!! i think it was probably building his/her nest too!!
very nice captures of the deer, i saw some yesterday on our bike path which reopened yesterday!! that is a beautiful capture of the swallowtail kite in flight, you are lucky to see them so often!!!
we got out yesterday for a bike ride and went to see the beach/ocean. it was one of the best days in a long while!!!

You take such nice walks and the bunny and deer are so beautiful to look at. Be careful on your walks Diane and have a nice week ahead.
Yup we’re walking too way up here in Oregon. ... love sharing your Florida walk and must admit to being quite envious of the kite pictures... you have no idea how many pictures of blue sky I’ve discarded ...taken because they are “where a swallow-tail kite used to be.” Yours are wonderful! .... sweet rabbits (I always consider it lucky when I see one) ... and it IS lucky that you’re getting out for nature walks. They are so needed right now.
Love the bunny pictures! My wildlife viewing is limited to squirrels these days. I'm thinking this might be the time to take up bird watching. Take care!
Your curious rabbit belongs in Beatrix Potter land. I love it.
