When you venture into the WILD....

...you have a chance to see something wild!

And even your imagination can 'run wild'!

This Eastern Cottontail Rabbit rustled in the leaves right next to the trail and made me JUMP!

Not once.....but twice this week!

He has some straw and sticks in his mouth that he was not eating so we think he was building a nest.

More cute bunnies to scare me on the trail!

I also saw these 4 deer quite a distance away on the trail ahead of me. So I zoomed in!

They were curious about me too and stopped.

And waited...

before bounding away.

It's a joy to walk in the woods but you never know what might rustle in the leaves or cross the trail in front of you! Which makes walking in the woods so WILD....and so much fun!

Swallowtail Kite
(we're seeing them on every hike right now)

How are you doing this week? Have you been able to get outside and walk?

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

The rabbit is so cute …
I've almost had an accident with a running deer ... I've been scared of them ever since! If I have to cross the zone, I always cycle hard …
Have a nice weekend Diane!
Stay safe!

Oh that bunny is so alert. I want to cross stitch him!!! He is too cute. Friends on the ridge behind us have seen some fox babies along with mama this spring as well as many deer. I told her it was like living in a zoo!

The bunnies are so cute. I never see bunnies anymore. I think the coyotes have eaten them all around here. Thanks for sharing them with me.

We sometimes see bunnies if you are out early enough in the morning before there are many people on the streets.

fabulous sightings, Diane! I am SUCH a sucker for bunnies! I saw my fourth of the year this morning in the yard!

No outside walking for me yet, but our parks did open to the public yesterday and people are out enjoying being outside again. The bunnies are so cute and you always take great bird pictures! Thanks for taking us along!

Thank you for sharing these very cute animals and bird. I have never seen a Swallowtail Kite before. It's been a long time since I saw a rabbit or deer. Soon hopefully. Good health and more happy moments to you :)

Wonderful photos, I was in the yard all day and I don't know who was watching whom, me or the birds. The ponds despite not being cleaned out yet provide water, and well, they are re-getting use to having us walking around. We haven't seen deer in the park since before Christmas, and you are right about them being nosy...again, who was watching whom...LOL!

I'd love to see a swallowtail. Do you check for ticks after your walks? 🦌🦌🦌🦌

Great shots of the rabbits. I saw a bunch of them today on my walk.
Can't get close enough though to get a good picture and my phone takes awful zoomed in pictures.
As you already know I'm out there walking every morning. : )

Eastern Cottontail are prolific here and each morning first thing there are a couple in the backyard. We appreciate them but Miriam would be whole lot happier if they stopped chowing down on every green shoot that pokes its way above the ground. As for me, if that's the price we have to pay to have rabbits, I am okay with it. Before long there will be a whole lot more!

Cute bunnies. Our Gus enjoys having a good bark when they come into the yard at dusk. Isn't it fun how those curious deer stop and pose before they take off? You got some great shots!

I love your photos. The deer are magnificent, the rabbit so cute. I see that the Eastern Cottontail looks a little different from our Western ones.

And no, I haven't been outside walking this week. At this point, I better go for a walk soon, at my age it's truly "use it or lose it." Thanks for the inspiration though. I love your walks.

Yup we’re walking too way up here in Oregon. ... love sharing your Florida walk and must admit to being quite envious of the kite pictures... you have no idea how many pictures of blue sky I’ve discarded ...taken because they are “where a swallow-tail kite used to be.” Yours are wonderful! .... sweet rabbits (I always consider it lucky when I see one) ... and it IS lucky that you’re getting out for nature walks. They are so needed right now.

Love the bunny pictures! My wildlife viewing is limited to squirrels these days. I'm thinking this might be the time to take up bird watching. Take care!
