Our Beautiful World

Sometimes I compose a post in my mind but then when I sit down to write, it doesn't seem quite right....it doesn't seem like enough! We are all learning and adjusting as time goes by and I do think it has brought us all closer together....as citizens of the world.

Most days, I find lots to do and stay very busy.

And on the days I can get outside and hike, I feel wonderful.

I'm grateful for my good health, a beautiful place to live, nice weather and a trail to hike on near my home (and a sweet hiking buddy to go with!).

And this week, my blog buddy Sheri from Red Rose Alley even sent me a lavender rose. I put it in my sidebar Sheri! Thank you SO much for thinking of me!

I received this in my inbox from Hospice this week. I am a patient visitor for Legacy House and we are not able to do our visits at this time. One of the many things 'on hold' now.

How are you doing this week? Want to share something you are thankful for in the comments?

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays and

I like Thursdays HERE too!

I am thankful for good health and a healthy family, a job I can do from home, this farm and the little seaside cottage that give us all respite from these strange times. That lavendar rose is gorgeous! I don't think I have ever seen one.

Glad you are well and finding joy -

Beautiful thoughts and words and pictures today. I did not know you did the Hospice volunteer visiting. That is such a wonderful ministry. I have great respect and appreciation for Hospice after their help with both of my parents and then our dear son. They certainly perform a wonderful service to families going through a very difficult time. Thank you for doing your part in that!

Lovely sentiments. We are definitely grateful for our health and our property that we can walk and enjoy during these strange days. I took a 10 week palliative care course when I moved here to Ontario and had experiences with two patients. I would have continued but we have moved to the country. Kudos to you for doing that work as it is hard. You are so deserving of that beautiful rose!

I am thankful, I know things could be worse for me. It's tough times all around, though.

I was reading your "Thankful Thursday" post and smiling, and then I saw MY ROSE and smiled even bigger! Thank you for putting it on your post, Diane. It just reminded me of you cause I know how much you love lavender. That's too bad that you
can't visit the Hospice Center this week. I feel bad for them not being able to be around loved ones, especially during this time. But I'm sure they will see your smiling face soon.

Yes, this is still a beautiful world. And what am I thankful for?...You, my friend. : )

the lavender rose is awesome... my favorite color roses. I have such fond memories of going to West Hartford's rose garden and seeing hundreds of varieties. And of course the Smithsonians rose garden was a must see each time we went into the city... missing the east coast

I'm so thankful for my home and for my husband, and for my kids and grandkids that I can visit with via technology. I'm thankful for a beautiful world to live in, especially just now with spring happening.

Oooh, a lavender rose! How beautiful - and right up your alley! I hope you are right. I hope we all keep the feeling that we are all in this together.

Love the quotes and it is sad that you are unable to visit hospice patients. I know it is necessary but a sad precaution. Thanks for linking up today and stay well.

That rose is just gorgeous! I love the color! I am glad to live in Florida. Most of our days are beautiful!

I'm thankful for Rick taking such good care of me, being careful with distance and his own activities so I can be safe. I'm doing OK. If all I can complain about is two-toned hair, that's nothing.

I love the volunteer message. I'm sure your patients miss you. I'm sad they have to be without visitors.

Beautiful photos. Love the quote about making sure some of your trails are dirt. So true!!

I'm thankful for our beautiful world. I know it is feeling better without us and our polluting ways for a while. I'm also thankful for all my blogger friends, my non-blogger friends, my two dog companions who are so loving and loyal. Have a great evening.

Oh Diane. I think sometimes it's what we don't say. I got very wordy today---part of the frustration of three days of pouring rains. You are right, when we are outside life is wonderfu. Fresh air and sunshine is definitely a cure...inside when it is dark and dreary---a mind can become dark...cranky at best.

Gorgeous photos and what a gift, the lavender rose is spectacular! Hugs, and I hope your path stays open. Hugs, Sandi

ah, good stuff! I am grateful for the health I have. I've had a shock today, and yet, I feel I will come out fine. As crazy as the events have been lately, I really lucked out with timing in my own life.

I like the Volunteers sign - so true!
I am staying busy - one of my neighbors has cancer and is now on 'hospice at home' care, and I spend part of every day with her. We have a fierce domino competition going! We used to go grocery shopping together. I am shopping for her now since I already know what food and which brand names she likes.
I am getting a vegetable garden started so that gets me outside part of the day, and I read a lot and enjoy crossword puzzles. I subscribe to a once-a-month puzzle book so I have plenty of puzzles to do!
And I enjoy my blogging friends - glad you are one of them!

Hello! I can't tell you how many times I write a post or an email during the middle of the night. I tweak it and change the tone and words . . . and then when I get up it is gone. Poof. A kind word and thought does so much good and uplifting. Thank you for that! ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Diane
We have a "to do" list for spring chores and so we're trying to keep as busy as possible and are finding the days passing quickly again. We are doing lots of yard clean up and preparing the lawns for summer and the flower beds for planting. I've also been enjoying cooking with what I have on hand and using up supplies--it is sort of a challenge. I had a Zoom video book club meeting and we walked some trails. AS long as we stay healthy, we're happy!

Great likes. I love hospice, they were a sanity saver for me while I was caring for my husband's great aunt after he was killed.

i was very thankful this week, but most thankful that my first butterfly to emerge survived 2 extra days indoors because of rain. when it took off, it soared like it knew exactly what to do. i was so happy, it was really early for it to emerge!! it was a black swallowtail, like the butterfly in your first picture!!

a very pretty purple rose from your friend!! i am sure you miss your volunteer work, i use to volunteer and i still miss it!!
