A lot of photos are forgotten when we have an amazing sighting on a hike.
I'll give you a hint! When we were hiking the Florida Trails this week, we saw something that I had seen a couple of weeks ago. It was very near where I had seen it before and may have been the same one. lol It deserves a post all it's own because it was a Barred Owl! Coming soon!!!
And on that same hike we saw this neat bee or fly.
Does anyone know what it is? It was pretty small but oh so colorful!
And there were beautiful moths.
Flowers in bloom.
Trails leading into the deep woods with spiders in webs to avoid!
The beauty of the flutterby tree (I named it that...it flutters)!
And someone came out of their shoes at the trailhead! We didn't see anyone else on the trails so they were either lost in the woods or they went home without them. Are you missing your flip flops?
And even though I couldn't get any photos of it...
I stood in my backyard last night and watched Falcon 9's launch of the Dragon's first operational crew mission to the International Space Station. Read more about it HERE. It launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida and I could see it from a distance. What a thrill!
I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

...leftovers are good!
Bob watched the launch from our front yard, i watched on TV.. that moth is gorgeous and so is the bee... not sure what it is, but great photos of it snarfing up pollen at the bee bufett. those flip flops are not junk, i am wondering just how someone left their old navy flip flops. Maybe injured and carried out? can't see anyone walking there in bare feet, maybe put on boots? someone was chasing them through the woods like in the beginning shots of half the new movies they make these days
You got some great photos again on your hike!
Ok, I am quite envious that you could see the launch even from a distance. I made it down to see the shuttle and really have thinking if life ever settles down again I want to get down for a launch. Of course, you know I always enjoy your photos.
How cool to be able to see the launch from your yard. Pretty photos from your hike.
How nice to have gone on a nice hike with your husband. I like all the pretty flowers, bees, moths, and birds. Hope you have a nice week Diane.
Oh I can't wait!!! I am a huge animal lover but owls are my favorite. Besides my kitties of course. We have a family of barred owls in the woods behind our home but I can never get a good photo, it seems I only catch sight of them at dusk.
I always wonder about finding shoes or a shoe along a road or walkway. WHAT were you doing to come out of and leave behind your shoes?
Dawn aka Spatulas On Parade
What beautiful pictures of your walks.
I like the flip flops, I think you can't forget this.
Have a nice new week and stay healthy.
that is a thrill diane, you are so lucky to see such unusual events/sightings!! i don't know what the bee is, i did a little research, nothing matches all of the markings. it is beautiful!!
i enjoyed seeing all the "purpleness"!! and i checked, the flip-flops are not mine...all of mine are accounted for!!
Beautiful photos Diane but I have to wonder about those flip flops.lol Wish you could come for Thanksgiving dinner. I am sure we would have a wonderful time together.
Insect life is really humming down there in Florida. Not so here in NH. All the leaves are off the trees, it's windy and getting colder each day. Enjoy your warmth and thanks for sharing with me.
The sight of beautiful flowers and butterflies gave me great joy.
Your photos are wonderful, especially now that autumn is king!
Hugs and greetings from autumn Poland.

Oh to see the launch would be thrilling! We came to see the spaceshuttle Atlantis launch and it is a moment we will never forget. Kit
Oh I can imagine a thrill it was to see the launch! Your photos are so pretty, very nice closeups! I always find it odd when I see a pair of shoes left behind on a trail...I would NEVER leave my shoes behind!!
Fun and gorgeous shots. Thanks for sharing. Thank you for dropping by Diane
Much💝love
I love these, so many pretty little things! Have a great week :)
so many gorgeous captures - bees, butterflies, flowers and woods - love it all!
You may have missed them first time but they were well worth revisiting. Old Navy seem to remember visiting that store when I was in the US, mind you that was in the mid 1980's
You always see so many cool things. That's an interesting fly or bee, whichever it is.
With my luck I would walk right through that spider web.
Those look like nice flip flops. I would be annoyed with myself if I had left them.
Lovely bee photos. I see more bees here than I saw all summer on the flowers.
Lovely photos, as always. Thanks for taking us along! My cousin lives over on the coast, near the space center and he posted some good shots of the launch.
I'm glad these photos did not get left out! I often find that moths can be as beautiful as butterflies! Flip flop weather is over here except for the hardy young people..lol
The photos are beautiful. Sure was a great hike!!
What a great hike!
Very cool seeing the ISS take off.
I love the barred owl!
I am thinking the "bee" is a kind of Scoliid Wasp, which is the closest thing I could find online. They come in bright colors like this one and have a stout body. They also feed on the scarab beetle larvae in the soil, which I think we have in our soils here...like the dung beetles. But they also like the late summer/fall wildflowers, like the blazing star yours was feasting on. That's my humble opinion. Loved all the pictures. So happy you got to see the "launch". I went outside and looked, but it was too cloudy here. Those flip flops...was someone captured there??? Just wondering. Something to consider...or did they put on their walking shoes and left the flip flops behind? weird. Love the golden orb spider webs. They are so intricate in detail. You are seeing much beauty these days. Thank you for sharing. I can't wait to see the Barred Owl.
Fabulous photographs from your hike.
How amazing to be able to see the launch from your yard.
Enjoy the new week.
All the best Jan
That would be a thrill! How does someone just walk off and leave shoes behind? 😆
Hello,
My boys would have loved to sit with you in your yard to watch the mission. Safe travels to space. :-)
I love the pinks in your photos today.
Carla
Diane - are you serious? You are going to make us wait for the barred owl? Sigh. Ok, I can be patient. Lovely photos of the flowers and flying creatures in your area. Thanks for linking up to Mosaic Monday, as always!
I bet it was a thrill to see the launch.
What a different looking Bee type and the Moths are very pretty. Love your mosaic---so green and fluttery.

Excellent pictures! Please go through more of what you left out!
Beautiful. The bug might be a hummingbird moth. Maybe.
Two favorites here -- that great branch that looks like raspberries but I know isn't. And your flip flops!
Your photos are always so interesting. My goodness, those look like pretty nice flip flops. Nope, they are not mine. I wonder why someone left them behind? I live in my flip flops year round except for when I go out during the cold weather time. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
Beautiful photos, Diane. xo Laura
Beautiful photos of the small things in nature that make a hike a joy. Although that colorful bee isn’t exactly small as bees go is it? Lovely walks and what a thrill to see the launch! Isn’t it crazy how Florida could be barely missing a Hurricane one day and practically the next launching that !
Such beautiful pictures! And those flip-flops???!!!! Now who in heaven's name would just walk away, barefoot, in that terrain? The more I see of people, the less I understand them. *haha* ~Andrea xoxo
Thank you for bringing us along on your hike. I love all the pollinators still out and about and doing their thing. The flip flops that were left look new. Maybe a case of sore feet?!
The colorful wings of that bee are amazing. Our Creator God is amazing clear down to the smallest creatures.
So many pretty and interesting things on your hike! Love the moths and that bee! The flip-flops really are a mystery......xx K
You take the BEST pictures, Diane! Honestly- magazine worthy. LOL about someone losing their shoes...wonder if they changed into hiking shoes and forgot they had the other ones there....or were they mysteriously 'beamed up' never to be seen again? hmmmm....lol. xo Diana
Siempre haces preciosos paseos. Me gusta todo. Muchos besos.
VERY STRANGE about the shoes!!?? So weird they just left laying there. That moth is real pretty!! Please give us a heads-up before putting creepy-crawlies on there ok please??? ha ha ha LOL. Happy happy Wednesday and have y'all seen the rockets go up since you live right there?---not sure how close y'all are to Cape Canaveral? I got a new doll this week, I can't wait to show her to you!! Us and our dolls............ha ha
I know the thrill of space crafts, I felt it when the shuttles used to land at Edwards AFB in the desert below here. That huge booom, so exiting! Your bugs and all the wonderful photos provide excitement of a different kind.
Such gorgeous photos, Diane. I've just finished Murder on Cold Street, the 5th Lady Sherlock. I know you like that series as well. It was good.

Isn't that something that someone left their sandals behind? Maybe they just didn't want them any more. That bee or fly sure is unusual looking. Those are great photos. I've never seen a moth that pretty before, it's turquoise! That's awesome that you got to watch the launch in your back yard. Very cool, indeed.
