Well, I don't really think they met but I began this hike on the Florida
Trails with Eastern Bluebirds flying along with me. And ended the hike very
near the same spot but under a tree looking up at a Barred Owl.
Hubby gets credit for spotting this beautiful Barred Owl.
He flew across the trail very near where I spotted one a couple of weeks
ago.
And when he landed in the tree, it was an easy walk to get close for better
photos!
He was gorgeous!
But we noticed he seemed to have trouble keeping his eyes open.
Hubby walked on the other side of the tree for a different view and the sun
was shining right on the owl. (hubby is at the base of the tree, owl near
top)
And you know how it feels when you sit in the sun!
It's hard to stay awake, even with a crazy lady in a pink cap standing
under the tree! (do you see a bike whizzing by in the background?)
It was exciting to say the least!
But let's not forget the Eastern Bluebird.
Time to slow down and enjoy the sights.
And even though I know this is a bluebird, aren't the colors different in
this view?!
I mentioned in my last post that I am taking a break from my blog...for
just a week or so. I'm going to miss visiting everyone but I am having some
bad headaches and need to stay off the computer for a few days and see if it
helps! Enjoy your week!
See you back in blogland SOON! 💜

Your bird photos are gorgeous! The details you captured of the Barred Owl and the Eastern Bluebird are fabulous. Thinking of you and praying you find comfort from your headaches.
So neat to catch the barred owl in its sleep mode. Take care. Hope your headaches disappear.
Owls sleep during the day.... they're nocturnal. That's why you hear so much beautiful hooting coming from the darkened woods, at night. I love that hooting sound... when all is still & it's dark. It echoes through the woods and usually you hear another owl (or two) hoot back. I love wildlife & Mother Nature! Thank you for your beautiful pictures & blog posts. We will all be here waiting for you when you are able to come back. God bless you with healing from your headaches. ~Andrea xoxo
The Barred Owl has doubtless spent the night hunting and probably has a full stomach. Time to snooze during the day to get ready for another night's foraging.
Hello Diane,
Your Owl photos are awesome! What a great sighting. I thought they like to hang out in the same area, even the same tree. Love the sweet Blue Bird too. Great photos. I hope you feel better, take care!
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post! Take care, enjoy your day! Have a happy weekend! PS, thanks so much for leaving me a comment.
I have never seen a bluebird and loved its gorgeous colors. Have a good break from blogging and I hope those headaches go away.
Diane, I loved the pictures and seeing you and your husband getting pics of each other is cute. That poor old sleepy owl. LOL He was enjoying the warm sunshine. Oh I adore those bluebirds. We had them here this year. But I did not get any nice photos. Please take care of yourself. Get plenty of rest. Blessings, xoxo, love to you and Ron, Susie
oh it is so exciting to see the owl in the wild, i have never seen one!! this guy looks very sleepy, a bit like my hubs on a sunday afternoon!! hehehehehe
your images are gorgeous, of the bluebird as well, but the barred owl really steals the show!!
stay safe, be well and i hope you feel better soon. have a wonderful weekend and thanksgiving too!!!
That guy on the bike missed having the beautiful nature moment you and your hubby shared with the owl. Hope you will feel better.
What a thrill to view this wonderful owl and get those awesome photos. Loved seeing them as you might remember I love owls and am always thrilled to sight one here on the property. Meanwhile, do take care of yourself and hope you feel back to your normal healthy self very soon.
I love owls...they have such an interesting look. I am sure you read the story of the baby owl in the Rockefeller Center Tree that hitched a ride to NYC. Amazing.
Wow !!! Your bird photos are gorgeous !
It's a great joy to photograph these bird species!
Happy weekend :)
Great photos!
Have a blessed day!
thanks for the owl visit. i do love them and this one is gorgeous. hope the break helps your headache, see you when you get back
What fantastic captures of the owl! I've never seen an Eastern Bluebird, not even when I lived up in Ocala. He's gorgeous too!
I LOVE the Barred Owl, and yes, you caught him napping. He's been up all night prowling around and daytime is his sleep time. It was nice of him to stay put and let you get so many nice pictures. What a treat! And that bluebird is also gorgeous! Yes, slow down and enjoy! Now, for you, I pray that you will find the source of your headaches and that resting your eyes from the computer for a while will truly help. Please keep us posted when you feel up to writing again. We will miss you and your beautiful pictures. Have a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving.
Owls are such fascinating birds -- you really captured what makes them so appealing.
be well...mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Your photographs are always fun to see! Great shots, and the blue bird on the sign after seeing the sleepy owl is perfect.
Prayers your headaches stop
Stay safe
Of course, it's hard to him to keep his eyes open during the day! He's up all night...hunting, using his "silent-flying" wings, and that very sharp beak to rip and tear through his catch! You and your husband did an outstanding job with the photos...GREAT!...:)jp
Handsome owl, beautiful bluebird, cute lady in the pink hat...crazy cyclist. Take good care and I trust that less screen time (and more rest time) will help send those headaches packing.
I love them!
I hope that you feel better after a break from the computer! The owl & the bluebird are both wonderful!
The Bluebird is pretty but the Barred Owl is amazing, how lucky can you get. Fantastic photos.
Hope the break helps and your headaches go away,
Take care and keep well, t'other Diane
These are fabulous shots of both. I thought the second one looked like he was bowing his head in prayer. Maybe saying his bedtime prayers before nodding off.
Those are some incredible photos of the owl!!
Hope your headaches end soon. I've been praying for you.
some fun shots today :) Gorgeous owl and bluebird.
Take care of yourself and comb back when ready! As they say, better safe then sorry.
:)
...they are two birds that rarely if ever see!
Me han encantado las aves, son preciosas. Espero que te mejores. Besos.
Please take care, the photos are lovely. I hope something resolves this issues you are having. I had headaches at one time...and found wine, pickled anything, chocolate, caffeine, hard cheeses, cured meats---and a few other things would trigger migraines. it was also connected with hormonal surges, but who knows, this was in my 50's and about my only symptoms of menopause. sigh...in these times it's hard to even think about going to the doctor. Hugs, Sandi
Wonderful owl photos and the bluebird is pretty! Take it easy and have a decent week. Stay safe.
I think your owl just wanted his daytime nap after spending all night hunting and eating. It's a lovely bluebird too. I really wish you well with those headaches. Hopefully the rest from desk work will help you recuperate.
What a treat, that owl!!
The owl!! My favorite of all owls. I like your post title, too, by the way.
You may not read my comment during your break away from the computer, but I do hope your health improves!!
I enjoyed my visit here, and give thanks to you for sharing this week at IRBB.
The pictures of the owl are perfect. It is very lucky to see such a beautiful bird.
Healthy, happy Sunday and a great new week.
Your Bluebird and Owl are gorgeous! I love the photos. I hope your headaches go away. You take care of yourself and we'll see you when you get back. Hugs, Edna B.
I am so sorry about your headaches. I hope they resolve quickly. That owl is gorgeous. xo Laura
Beautiful photos. Take care, and I hope the headaches will become a thing of the past. Wishing you a peaceful Thanksgiving.
Gorgeous photos of both the owl and the bluebird! Hope you've had a great weekend and have a wonderful headache free Thanksgiving during your break.
Diane, is your head any better?---thinking of you. My head hurt off and on all last week and then it just went away, for which I was very grateful. Hope you feel better soon. I love the owl pictures....great close-ups! That one side view with his head down, he looks like he's praying!!---so cute. Get better!! Not sure if you felt up to going out this weekend much, hope you did. With some cooler air here, we've been traipsing around the old plantations again. One of my most favorite things to do....we always see interesting things and I always LEARN SOMETHING. Ps if I have a bad headache putting ice cold rag on my forehead and/or closed eyes helps me very quickly.
Gorgeous owl! You take care and I hope you feel better. Happy Thanksgiving! Kit
The photos are fantastic. Thank you for sharing your hikes with us. I do enjoy seeing what you see.
Get well wishes too. I will be praying for you.
Happy Thanksgiving my dear friend!

He's so very handsome! I've been felting lots of different little owls of late and this one is a great model!
Praying your headaches end, Diane. That is not good!!!!
What a precious bird. Isn't he beautiful?
Take good care of yourself and we will see you here soon. xo Diana
Hi Diane, beautiful photos of the owl. I love them. The blue bird is also very beautiful. Get well soon. Greetings Caroline
What a magnificent OWL! He looks so grand, doesn't he? And it's always a joy to see those precious blue birds. I used to see them often when I lived up north. Yes, his feathers in back are a bit different than the ones I've seen.
I hope your headaches are getting better, Diane. And Happy Thanksgiving to you, my friend. : )
~Sheri
A wise old owl. Perfect.
Happy Thanksgiving, dear Diane.

Dear Diane - I really love to see the sleeping Barred Owl, so charming. How lucky you’re to have taken such close-up photos. Bluebird is also cute. I sometimes have headaches at the back of my head, and besides, I feel nausea when using PC long hours. But I get along with the pains, which is not so sever, doing exercises and less time with computer. Hope you feel better now. Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Yoko
Happy Thanksgiving!
Have a blessed day!
What is it about road signs that lures birds to land on them. I have one of a sparrow sitting on a "no parking" sign. You have some really awsome photos and the owls are beautiful! Have a grand weekend!
Diane - how blessed you are to have seen this owl in your neck of the woods. They are such spectacular creatures! Yep, I think if I was sitting in the Florida sun, I would have a hard time staying awake! Thanks for reminding me to pop over and see the owl. A great part of my day! Hope your headaches are going away.
Such wonderful photos of both birds! :)
Hope you are doing ok, thinking of you my friend!!
He is sleepy because he is a "night owl."
Tee hee (corny joke, I know).
Jeannie@GetMetoTheCountry
you get so many comments!
