We usually see a big flock of Robins on the golf course on Christmas day.
(And isn't my red mum lovely?)
We haven't had bad weather this week but we had a shower this morning and they were out there again pecking in the mulch under the palm tree.
I don't get a lot of junk mail but I did get a cute catalog from Walmart this week. It even had stickers to mark what you wanted for Christmas. Reminded me of the Sears wish books from days gone by. We picked up our groceries this week too and got a little orange thank you!
I ordered new Swedish dish cloths in pretty Autumn designs and I love them!
And I even bought another Columbia hiking shirt in a pretty shade of blue.
And yes....this is toilet tissue! But look at the little embossed butterfly!
Have you bought anything new this week?
(I need to make a new wish list! lol)
We have so much to be thankful for! Hiking is still close to the TOP of my list!!!
Please keep us in your prayers today as Hurricane Eta barrels through this part of Florida. I'll give you an update in a few days....God willing and the creek don't rise. (as my Dad used to say!)

Hello,
I hope you are safe from the Storm Eta! We are having a few rainy days, cold weather arriving now. I like the cute Autumn dish clothes. Nice shirt, great to have the protection from the sun. Love your pretty red mum and the robins. Take care, enjoy your day!
Oh the robins are always a welcome sight. I feel like so many things are off in this year besides a pandemic and hurricanes. Some things have bloomed early or not at all. Nature is doing a little reset or something weird. I love your hiking picture.
...enjoy our robins, they have flown the coupe. Please remember to send them back in the spring.
I love your red mums and all those Robins. It must be wonderful to look out and see all this right outside your window. You keep on hiking girl. I enjoy going along with you on these walks. I'm praying that Eta doesn't cause any damage where you are. Stay safe, hugs, Edna B.
I love those Swedish dish towels and I need to go and get myself a new one for the kitchen. I may give some as Christmas gifts as well. I was watching an old Britcom and they made a paper chain of robins for Christmas. I had never heard of that. Prayers for you and Barbara as you are both my blog friends in the path of the store. Keep up updated. Hugs.
Great to see Robins, and I love the dish cloths!
The only thing new I have bought this week is a can of Margaret Holmes brand Jambalaya. I had never tried it before, and it was delicious! Basically, its a can of rice with tomatoes and spices. Just add meat. I browned smoked sausage in a skillet, drained off the grease, poured to Jambalaya mix in the skillet. Cooked it until it was bubbling hot, and supper was ready!
Have a blessed day!
Keeping you and all my Florida family in our prayers. We have family on the Tampa area, and Kissimmee. I wondered where our robins spent the winter! Now I know,
Love all of your photos. We had lots of heavy rain and some pretty gusty winds here all day yesterday as Eta came up the coast. I bet it won't be bad at all as far inland as you are. Sending prayers anyway just in case!
Love your post, and the catalog (yes, I remember the Sears and Penney's catalogs from my childhood as well as my kids), and wow, what brand is that T.P. with the butterfly? I haven't seen any robins yet, but I am thinking there is going to be a bad winter up north, so they may be flying south earlier than usual. I will be watching because I know they love holly berries and our trees are loaded. Happy Hiking! Thankful Eta wasn't anything to write home about! Just a little breezy and misty today. So very thankful.
Have a blessed rest of your week.
isn't mother nature funny. here in new jersey, there are harbor seals that appear every year at the highlands on christmas day. every st. patricks day, our osprey return like clockwork. not the day before, not the day after, on st. patrick's day!!!
we got heavy rain last night and it is raining today!! i am thankful for all of the warm, sunshine day we have been having!!
i bought yarn this week, for a new project i am starting!! your towels are so pretty!! i hope you guys are ok, once again, i have not watched the news or the weather!!
I took a short forest walk this morning. It is wonderful. My knees won't take long ones.
That's fun, about the robins. They overwintered here just one year, about a dozen, and just one, another year. I wonder if this foreshadows a long winter?
Lovely to see the robins and the red mum is beautiful, what a gorgeous colour.
Stay safe as Hurricane Eta nears.
All the best Jan
Oh, you got some goodies! The Swedish dish cloths are so cute. Your Mums are beautiful, and I love those sweet Robins. One of my favorite birds. Isn't that something that you see a flock of Robins on Christmas Day? What a special gift that is. Always enjoy your Thankful Thursday posts, Diane. They are wonderful in every way. : )

My kids used to pore over that Sears Wish Book each year before Christmas! Beautiful mum photo!
I remember those Sear catalogues and loved wishing and hoping!! I think we all need to wish and hope all at the same time Perhaps it will help things improve!!...:)jp
I was shopping in the art museum's gift store last week and they had those Swedish dishcloths with Christmas designs. I almost bought a few but now I will go back with your recommendation! Thanks! We had lots of rain and some pretty hefty winds over night but all is well now. So blessed, so far!
When I first read the sentence about Christmas Robin's I thought oh gosh I never heard of a Christmas Robin and then when I kept reading I saw you meant they come at Christmas actually I've never seen a robin here they must be all up there with you! We did the watch hurricane flash tropical storm ETA yesterday all day long we got seven and a half inches of rain a tree fell down and the pool is full of debris but we're slowly working our way through the debris but no harm done but we did have quite a bit of flooding in the city here and even had one person killed at Anna Maria Island beach that stepped in the water in his kitchen and was electrocuted. But she didn't do as much damage as they thought she would
Your red mums are GORGEOUS!!! And the robins - they are a bit early if you usually see them at Christmas. About 6 weeks early! All of your shopping finds are fun. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Oh, where to start! I'm curious about the toilet paper. What brand has a butterfly? I don't think I would have notices! The robins are so sweet. Were they bob bob bobblin? Love the bright mums! Mine look a little sad lately but with all this rain, I'm hoping they will perk up. I spy Baby Yoda! xo
Your robins are a lot different to ours here in the UK, the mums do not look much different though
Hi, Diane. I always wondered where the Robins went, I'm so glad they are by you. We had one this year that followed Hubby around, no matter what machine he was running or what he was doing...always only a couple of feet away, and chirping up a storm...PS, hope you survive this crazy weather. We had all the leaves left blow into Lake Michigan, 15 miles from here, Tuesday night, so at least there is no more raking!
Hugs, back stay safe, hope our goofy Robin finds you both! Sandi
Love those mums--now that is my color for a mum!!!
and the Robins are sweet--will have to watch and see if I can find some around over here--and I love those new Swedish dish cloths how pretty and Fallish they look!!!
OH I did order something new for me today--this years set of plates by Better Homes and Garden with Christmas/winter nature scenes on them (from Walmart--of course)!! they will be here in a couple weeks--I usually buy them in the store this time of the year--but I have not been in a walmart since the first of March--soooo!!!
Hope Eta was just bit of a rain storm as it passed you --
luv, di
Diane, I love the blue shirt. Our robins are all gone..as far as I know. I have only seen blue jays around here for a month. Please be safe in all the rain and wind. Praying for Florida., and the East coast. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie
Growing up in Michigan the robins always meant spring was on it's way. I was always so excited to see them after the long winters. Nice to see where they land when they "fly south". Very pretty dish towels you found. I just bought two snowflake lanterns and battery candles at Aldi. Couldn't beat the price and they will be pretty for Christmas into winter.
I will be keeping you in my thoughts and hope that Eta is kind to you.
Oh I was wondering if that old hurricane had already gone. Please check in sooner than a couple of days!
The robins must be wonderful to see again. I am always happy to see them in the spring. But just now, I can see how they bring that extra bit of cheer that is needed. What a year.
Sure hope you stay save from the storm.
I got three new jigsaw puzzles today. :)
Love the color of your new shirt.
No robins here, but lots of chickadees. Stay safe in the hurricane!
So that's where the robins go! lol
Love the shirt. Columbia is my favorite brand of summer clothing. Their shorts fit perfect, and wear /last longer than any I've ever owned.
Our Robins appeared this week. My husband was watching them out the window and mentioned it.
We bought a new microwave, measured the cabinet so it will fit well. However, the inside was smaller than the old one! I can't get my big bowls inside so we will be taking it back tomorrow. Irritation!
I hope Eta fades away and does no more damage.

Beautiful pictures of the robin.
Walking is healthy and you can now do with the pandemic, we also do that every day between 6 and 8 kilometers we walk.
Have a good weekend and stay healthy.
Here they are spring robins and there they are Christmas robins.
I remember the Sears wish book. I would go through that for hours making a list of all the things I wanted.
I noticed that embossed butterfly on a roll of toilet tissue that I had too.
Howdy girlfriend, I love the picture of you on the hiking trail.....you are adorable!! that shirt seems like a great idea, do they really work? Never had one. Yes I SURE DO remember the excitement of getting the Sears "wish book" each year.....us kids sure looked forward to it and poring over the glossy pages.......dreaming of presents and Christmas morning. Everything is so different for kids nowadays, sigh. Loved this post, loved all the pictures and I told Mr. Front Porch about your Christmas robins and he thought it was neat too!! I love that story........and how they came early this year!!
So happy to see your blooms especially now that mine are mostly faded away. We've been having a warm spell and I saw a robin...haven't seen one in weeks. Perhaps it will be one of the few that overwinter here. Loved seeing your new things...I have two columbia shirts and a bright yellow rain coat from them as well. Good stuff. I know you will definitely get good wear from a hiking shirt!
I have much for which to be grateful, too. And my early morning walks allow me to reflect on that! Wheing you a wonderful weekend!
Love your new shirt! Stay safe from the storm and COvid too! I remember those catalogs from the old days. They kept us occupied for hours.
Lovely dish cloths, too.
In my house, robins have already flew away to warm countries.
Your photos are great and I enjoy watching them.
Greetings from autumn Poland.
Lucja
I love the "quilted" butterfly too! Life is in the details. Are you of Sweedish ancestry? thats cool... love the towel designs. Lucky you to get out so much and safely. It's so hard here, we play dodge person every time we walk. Today I actually saw someone in a mask...they had to wear it to pick up their child from school but it was a relief not to have to dodge her by running across the street. So that's where the Robins go...
I remember the Sears Wishbook. I spent many hours perusing the pages. My mom told me that when she was little, theirs ended up in the outhouse! lol Thanks for linking up and stay well.
Nice post. Great walk.
Kisses.
Olga
How wonderful to see the robins! I wonder if our robins here travel down to be with you for the winter. We often see them back here as early as February/March! I saw that Walmart was putting out a wish catalog again. There is something special about holding paper in your hands :) I hope that Hurricane Eta does not cause you any damage. Will be praying for you! And I love your new blue hiking shirt, I am really in love with Columbia products as well. I love to hike/walk as well, its a special time every day for me :)
The robins are gone from here for awhile. I always love seeing the first robin of spring. I know the bad weather is over -- for a few months anyway. I love how you see the beauty of life in everything, even toilet tissue! I was quite the hiker when I could walk without hurting. No fun if you're in pain. I really like going along with you virtually on your hikes. Take care and have a great weekend.
Espero que todo esté bien. Me encantó todo lo que compraste. Besos.
Hello Diane. I did buy some new things this week - quilting rulers. I cannot wait for them to come.
I too have noticed lovely printed patterns on toilet paper. So crazy that we are spoiled enough to have cute toilet paper.
I guess I didn't realize that the Robins leave during the spring and return in the fall. I know spring is here when I see them. LOL I was just thinking about the Sears Wishbook, man that was so fun to just dream. Do you like the Swedish dishcloths? I saw one at work and was wondering. Love your new hiking shirt.
