Feathered Friends Fly South!

We've had some cold temps plunge down into Florida this week but we are still enjoying sunny skies and highs in the 50s! And it will be in the 70s by the weekend so we can't complain! And we have a chance to see some birds we don't normally see.

We DO see White Ibis all through the year but we have never...EVER seen this many at one time!

We counted over 70 in this flock that flew into our neighborhood.

They stopped to get some buggy snacks.

And then flew away.

We have a small neighborhood pond nearby and I think they were headed to the pond.

I hope you've had a wonderful holiday! ☃

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

They are probably flocking closely together to keep warm! This is a very chilly morning here in Florida! But it is beautiful regardless, and we are blessed. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

Great photos! Before we moved to this retirement community, we would get a flock of 20-30 in our yard after heavy rains... good eating, I guess! I've never seen more than that all together though!

I've never seen a 'crowd' of Ibis. Wonderful. And very good photos. Happy New Year.

Wow they are everywhere, look at that!!! Great photos!! We are actually having mild weather here too, which is happily surprising to me! I'm tired of shoveling snow and this is the first winter I haven't picked up a shovel yet!!! :)))

It is easy to imagine that just beneath the grass there is a multitude of fat, juicy bugs for an enterprising White Ibis.

I am loving the cooler weather and especially since we had the opportunity to burn a fire in the fireplace on Christmas day. YAY! That's something for Florida. LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Wow, they just flew right in your neighborhood! There's so many of them! They are such a pretty bird. I didn't realize their beak was sooooo long. I think they wanted to say hello to you before heading to the pond hehehe.
