We've had a good frost this winter so we are enjoying the colors of Christmas!
The Bald Cypress trees are gorgeous when they turn to burnt orange before they shed their needles.
And on this particular hike at Blue Run Park, the river was gorgeous!
Even this kayak was perfectly placed for a photo op! (he was fishing)
This is the Withlacoochee River that we walk along as we hike this trail.
Hike #150 for the year! We are happy to reach our goal and adding to the number now while the weather is nice!
Hugs to my hiking buddy! It's a special day week for him!
Views of the Withlacoochee River.
I hope you've enjoyed views of North Central Florida in December! I love seeing the photos many of you are sharing of the SNOW in your area! Stay safe and healthy this week!
Update: the trees I am showing are Bald Cypress trees that grow along and IN the water. It's unusual for a conifer to be deciduous but this one is, it loses its leaves in winter thus the name 'bald'.
holiday hugs! π΄
I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

Beautiful photos! I love seeing everyone's photos of the snow too, but I'm sure happy to have the winter weather we get here in Florida.

I always love seeing the "fall Florida color" in December. It always arrives right on schedule. The rivers of north Florida are so beautiful. 150 hikes is great and time for a few more.

Such beautiful sights!
It’s all so beautiful! My ‘Sherry in the country’ is wanting to plant a cypress tree on the island in the big tank for Dean’s Christmas present. They are expensive and getting it planted out there will not be easy! But what a great gift!
What a nice area, never thought it got cold there let alone have a frost
Happy Special week to hiking buddy!
Gorgeous photos
I love all the photos. And I love going on all the hikes with you throughout the year. Thank you so much for sharing. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
Congratulations on making your hiking goal in this crazy year! Your photos are just beautiful!! Merry Christmas, my friend!! xo
Congratulations on making your hiking goal. Bald Cypress trees sound interesting, I've never heard of them before. How I would love to sit in a boat, drifting down that river.
Sweet winter weather for you, Diane! Your hiking buddy is adorable! xo
beautiful photos. Love the reflections in the water
Your mitten banner is so cute! And your colors of Christmas are favorites of mine -- especially all that blue!
Fue un precioso paseo. Felices fiestas.
I never thought to fall colors in Florida, but then I've never been there, so what would I know? You photography is wonderful, such great photos. I'll send you snow photos when we have some. Doesn't sound like we will have a white Christmas, though.
Beautiful water and clear blue skies. Perfect for Hike #150 with your best hiking buddy! Merry Christmas, Diane. I enjoy your blog very much.
Diane - I love your new header, with the cute little mittens! Congratulations on your 150th hike! I have thoroughly enjoyed your hikes this year, and your faithful links to Mosaic Monday! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Gorgeous views of all the color! Congratulations on 150 hikes! So nice to have a sweet hiking buddy, too. xo
A beautiful place adn you created beautful Mosaics.
We have one tree in Sweden that drops it´s needles in the same way, the European larch. This year the weather was not to it´s liking and it did not get the beautiful colors. The trees was dull instead of glowing orange. :(
Wishing you and yours a good Christmas despite the present situation.
Take care. Some day it HAS to pass!
Beautiful trees and sky, I love the reflections.
Your mosaics are lovely. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Very pretty pictures, those trees look so pretty reflected in the water. That river where y'all go is ALWAYS SO PRETTY, in all seasons! Congrats on getting all those hikes in this year, I am so proud of y'all! And I've loved seeing all your hikes this year through pictures. Hugs!
So lovely and, yes, much different from snow-covered views. Have a blessed Christmas week!
Dear Diane, Your photos are lovely! It was so nice to see Hubby too. I wish him a very Happy Birthday tomorrow. See you soon. Love, Aunt Helen
Thank you for sharing.Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your Family.
Have wonderful days.
Cheers, Heidrun
Oh yes, I've been noticing the Bald Cypress trees around our area too. They are all burnt orange and shedding rapidly now. Our maple trees are orange and yellow now too. Yes, it is "fall" in Florida finally, when everyone else is having winter! Loved your pictures...The Withlachoochee River is beautiful. Have you ever eaten at Stumpknockers on the River? It's fun place to go. And then on the other side of the road there is a restaurant called "Red's", which is good too. Happy Birthday to your hubby? I'm assuming? Have a wonderful Christmas!
Such a relaxing spot! Love the river photos.

I love your string of cute mittens. Bright and cheery...your walks are always gorgeous, love seeing the changing flora. You have such different trees, plants, flowers than we have here, makes your posts so interesting. We are still snowless other than dustings here in Illinois, I have mixed feelings on that. Hugs and have safe and Happy Holidays! Sandi
I would like to take a walk in the forest you took in photos.
Merry Christmas to you.
Beautiful photos. Merry Christmas, my friend. xo Laura
It's wonderful that you went on so many beautiful hikes Diane. Wishing you a Merry Christmas.
These autumn colours for Christmas really are gorgeous. Wishing you and yours a happy Christmas. Stay safe.
I just left a message here, but it may have been eaten up hehehe.
