Lots of our usuals at Blue Run Park + one Stork!

We love seeing our 'usuals' and trying to get good photos.

We saw the most beautiful Little Blue Heron with such a purple neck!

They can be hard to spot in the marsh!

There were a few Great Blue Herons here and there, too.

This one caught a fish while we watched.

Something to see in every direction!

It was a gray day which is unusual for Florida.

But it gave the photos some neat effects.

Oh and I promised you a Stork.

They are a bit unusual to see at Blue Run s
o it was a rare treat.

A favorite photo was this White Ibis perched near a Palm Tree.

OK....let's zoom in!

Another beautiful hike at Blue Run Park in Dunnellon.

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Wij hebben ook reigers, maar deze "kleine blauwe" neefje hebben wij niet!
I would love to live in Florida, but not during hurricanes!
Very nice photos, Diane!

Those blue herons are just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. We have one at Grimmwood but he is more gray than blue.

So many times the "regulars" teach us something new about them. It seems I always learn something about something when I"m out...:)jp

What a lovely hike! I love that stork...but the Blue Heron, oh my gosh, what a beauty. His/her neck is almost a purplish hue of blue! Great photos!

Those are beautiful bird photos. I like to see the big wading birds -- which aren't here in Michigan in winter!

What a beautiful series of bird photos you captured on your outing. The blue heron is gorgeous and my favorite. We have a few around here that I've seen. Have a great week and stay safe.

That Blue Heron is really pretty. I love the picture of the water with the ripples in it.
Always a pleasure seeing your photos. Even your gray days look way better than what it looks like here right now.

Wonderful photos of the Little Blue heron. We've had one here at our pond a few times that I've seen. They aren't as frequent of visitors as the Great Blue Heron. We had a stork one time that I know of...such a non-handsome creature. LOL. (nice way to say ugly). LOL. Your pictures are always wonderful. So glad you can get out most days. Today was really windy!! But the sun was shining! That's always a good thing when it is so cold!

Great pics! Love the herons and the stork!

What beautiful pictures of the herons.
We call the heron in the first three photos a purple heron.
The stork and the ibis are also very beautiful.
Greetings Irma

Little Blue Heron is a very rare vagrant in southern Ontario, but with climate change maybe they will join the Cattle Egrets with ever increasing frequency. I will keep my eyes peeled in the spring.

Little Blue Heron is a beautiul bird in it´s simle coloration :) And so is the white Ibis. I usually think your Stork is, well, ugly, but for some reason your shots shows an other side of it. Loosk much better :)

Take care!

I absolutely loved the picture with the gray Spanish moss hanging above the water. It was so unusual. Almost creepy.
