It's been awfully HOT to hike (even in the mornings) but I've managed a few this past week.
And it's been a great week for sightings!
Mr. Bunny and I stopped under the same shade tree. I pulled out my water bottle to get a drink and looked over and he was watching me!
The Palmetto Palms are in full bloom and you can smell the sweet scent and hear them buzzing with bees and insects!
I call the hill at the turnaround point, Bluebird of Happiness Hill and we always see a nice variety of birds and critters.
I even heard 2 Bobwhites calling each other at the end of my hike when I stopped to pick a few blackberries. Don't pick this one! It's not RIPE yet!
Is it blackberry season where you live?

Such great pictures. But mercy yes, it's been hot! The rain we have gotten has made things humid as well. But, we live in Florida. LOL! Hugs and blessings to you. Cindy
Good morning, Diane! Lovely walk you had. Summer is definitely upon us! Our blackberry season in north Georgia is in July, just after yours. Those palmetto palms have such unusual flowers! I bet the bugs go buggy for it! Happy Monday!
It's strawberry season here..time to make jam!! It was very hot here, also, but has cooled off quite a bit this week. You always see the most interesting things on your hikes. Nice post. xxoo
Marvin and I planned to walk last night but it was still 87 and felt like 100 at six o clock so we old people stayed in!! Always enjoy seeing your roamings, Diane.
What an interesting picture of that dragonfly! The way they rest, cantilevered. Your mosaic is lovely, too, and the critters! The big eye on that bunny! We have no blackberries here but if someone was growing them in their yard, I suspect they would have already come and gone!
Not sure if it's Blackberry season but it strawberry season and watermelon season and peaches season. You have so much Beauty just outside your door. I totally missed the little bird until I read the words and look back at it. Perfect camouflage
Hello,
Lovely collection of images from your hike. I love the cute bunny, the Swallowtail Kite, great capture of the dragonfly and butterfly. Enjoy your day and week ahead!
Por Extremadura también hace bastante calor. Si también es temporada de moras pero están todavía verdes. Besos.
Mr bunny must have been glad of your company☺
Happy you dropped by my blog today
Much💛love
That's a beautiful rabbit. I wonder if maybe he wanted a drink of your water? That was an amazing photo you took of the fly (last post). You have a super day, hugs, Edna B.
...bunnies may be cute, but they are eating my vegetable garden. I never get a good shot of dragonflies, they are too darn fast for me. >y red raspberries that I planted this spring are growing well, but it will be summer before I have fruit.
Beautiful photos. It's a bit cooler here today. It was dark and gloomy earlier and we had some rain. Now the sun is out so it might warm up.
I don't know if it's blackberry season but the local strawberries just came out.
that little bunny probably wanted some of your water - it's so hot already here in Florida, I hate to think of August
Great photos!
Blackberries not ripe yet here in north Mississippi, but will be soon.
Summer is heating up, 90 now at 3:30pm. Not bad if you stay in the shade, but really hot out in the sunshine.
Have a wonderful week!
that's a beautiful picture of the rabbit, did you share your water?? hehehehe
i recently tried to photograph a dragonfly with no luck, so i really appreciate that image!!
i do think it is blackberry season here!!
You should work for National Geographic your photos are so good! There were so many birds and bugs I've never seen before and youknow tha names of all of them! Amazing!
We are breaking heat temperature records here! Whew--too hot, too soon!
I love the bunny, swallowtail butterfly, and dragonfly photos, and all your collages, Diane.
Stay cool!
Lovely photos, as always! I bought blackberries at Publix on Saturday! So delicious! Have a good week, Diane! xo
Diane - that bunny looks posed for take-off! However did you spot that little bird among all the leaves? Blackberries? Hardly! I might get a few little strawberries off my wild plants ... Thanks so much for linking to Mosaic Monday, and stay cool!
Have a good week Diane. Thanks for linking to Monday WRites

Beautiful blog
Great photos! Thank you for taking us along.
Love the dragonfly close-up. At our place in Washington state, we have tons of wild blackberries - hopefully when we arrive in about a month, they'll be waiting for us.
Mr. Bunny is so cute. Stay cool and many blessings.

How nice to get out for your hikes and take such beautiful photos. I always like looking at your nature photos. We've had a lot of thunder and rain storms lately. I hope you have a nice week and thanks for the blog visit Diane.
Hello, dear Diane, thank you so much for your lovely words. Yes, we can talk together. But I must try for learning more english words. Mein Wortschatz ist mager.
I enjoyed visiting your Blog too. Its a pleasure. Because we couldn't travel during Corona. And to read about other countries is like a small trip. I love the captures too, hear about other life.
Wish you a very good week, dear Blogfriend.
Hugs, by Heidrun
we had a very hot day yesterday, too! We were thinking about planting blackberries as we rebuild our garden. :D
I didn't realize you had a home in the NC mountains and one in Florida. How wonderful that must be! Your pictures are so beautiful. I would love to go back to the mountains again. Now that my bunnies are gone...we had BETTER go somewhere. :) I noticed this morning that our blackberries are beginning to ripen, but the deer have been up in the yard and nibbled the ends of some of the limbs.
Love the pictures, Diane. Maybe not the dragonfly as much. He is a bit scary looking! What a sweet bunny. I wonder if he was thirsty? I hope you have some cooler days soon!
It certainly does sound warm where you live.
Lovely photographs, I think the bunny looks so cute.
Keep as cool as you can and keep hydrated.
My good wishes.
All the best Jan
Your mosaics are so pretty. I guess it's both hot and muggy in Florida by now. I hope it won't be too bad so you can enjoy your hikes and share them with us.
I loved the Bunny, and the photos on your hikes are wonderful. Have a super day. Love from me!
Oh, I'm surprised that bunny didn't run off when he saw you under the shady tree. They usually get so frightened and scurry off. That's a nice picture of the dragonfly. Such a unique fellow, isn't he? Sounds like it's going to be a hot weekend there, so try to stay cool. I hear it's going to be warm here in the mountains, but probably in the upper 80's, low 90's.

*Ooooops, I just read mid 90's this weekend. I guess we both have to try to stay cool, my friend. : )
it's blistering hot here, in the 100's and even vege don't thrive in that heat
your photos are so good
Bunny rabbit! Mmm...blackberries. I wish we had a bush around here.
Picked our first blackberry yesterday and it was very TART! Made my mouth pucker. We will wait a few more days. (Middle Tennessee, 50 miles south of Nashville, Garden Zone 7a)
